My childhood friend called me today because she heard it in the radio and it reminded her of us when we were 16 yrs old. I had forgot about this beautiful song I use to sing everyday back in 1985
Lawd the early 80s was the shit. Especially when I was 22yrs old in 1980, and all the way to 1985. Just were beautiful years with some beautiful music.
I woke up with this song in my head and searched mighty hard for it and BAAM! I found it... It brings back great memories of my high school crush... lol
Dam how i miss the 80's these kids today just dont know a good love song when they hear it!!!!we respected women!!!! And women was respectful of themselves. Women dressed respectfully... And we weren't killing each other for nonsense..... And music had a meaning
Soprecise 1 True indeed Square brother...80, 70, 60 dealt with morals and value now music today with the new generation no imagination...flat out what they want to do to you...sad.
..back in the day, I'd heard that Quincy Jones had discovered a new group, Dreamboy. I bought the album, sight unheard/unseen... they didn't disappoint! I wish they had been appreciated by music lovers at large; they were good!
man oh man classic I remember kissing after dark on 98.7kiss fm radio in Jersey all the slow jams of the 80's I'm so glad I have all this great music in my collection
OH YES!!!!! The 80's I first heard this at my house party on 76 & Ney ave East Oakland Ca.... Was 17 and got my grind on in the corner under the red light. Now I'm 50!!! Where did the time go!!!,lol
I had graduated high & moved to NY. I had a sweetheart back in NC. We lost contact in the move. No cell phones in those days. Just the house phone. Lol. We might still be together. Thanks for the song share. For years I had this song playing in my head but couldn’t find it.
Wow! This took me straight back to late nights in mom's basement in Chicago with the red lights, beaded curtains and the "sofa," where things happened! LOL
I have this Album had to get it mailed to me from New York,my Ex.played (Don't Go) over & over back then in 84.,Thanks to internet I found it,It's posted in my Living room.I love that song,& I go by the name (DreamBoy) to all my Women I adore.
Wow!!! Thank you for this precious upload. This is one of those songs that you will rack your mind trying to remember who recorded it and what record company released it. It was played on the radio, but randomly. You had to keep your stereo on play/record for weeks just in case it was played. Dag, I miss doing that. It kept you on your toes. You worked to listen and record these types of obscure groups off of the radio. Dreamboy's "Don't Go" is truly timeless. I'm singing the words as I type and I know I haven't heard this song in probably 16+ years. Thanks again for sharing. Much appreciated.
***** Thank you so much for uploading this song! I was 4 when this came out but the melody and the lyrics always stuck in my head and I didn't have a clue who song until now... thanks again
You're so right! I have so many cassette tapes on years of "Quiet Storms"... Today you're not going to hear this song on the radio and so many more jams like this... I tuned in to hear this song.... December 30th, 2014
A lot of people thought this was RFTW..But, Dreambiy and RFTW are both from Flint Michigan....And accoeding to a friend of mine who's fron Flint, these 2 grou p s didnt stay far from each other, so the influence was there
Back during Purple Rain fever! Everybody, well the cool folk wanted more Prince, couldn't get none, but we had Ready For The World and the Force MDs and these cats and we did alright. I was sounding like a damn fool singin this when I was 13!
I 2ANBEEN LOOKING 4 THIS SONG FOR ABOUT 7 YEARS I COULDN'T FIND OUT WHO MADE IT I THOUGHT IT WAS READY 4THE WORLD I FOUND IT THANK THE LORD ALOT OF MEMORIES wow
Since I've been collecting Vinyls (Funk,Soul,Fusion, Disco) my most exciting and "screaming victory " was because I used to discover and buy unrated underground GREAT Band/Artists ... I could of go on like no tomorrow... Still. (All my babies with the film-foil to protect album cover... I am still looking and buy "my MUSIC" and collect... YES! MUSIC! P.S. Quincy Jones was executive producer for Dreamboy on his Quincy 'Label so this was no joke...
+djalexia Hi, Djalexia, I am a fellow "digger" as we are known in the collecting circle. I'm glad you've found some rare albums by some elusive groups. That is why we dig. Just tonight I found some albums in my own collection that I thought was left in NYC. I screamed like the first time I purchased them and woke my husband who's response was angrily "All right, now, don't start that." He doesn't get it. Glad you do. And, keep on digging. I don't have to tell you to enjoy yourself. That happens when you find that right album at the perfect time.
One of favorite songs growing up and one of the most "forgotten" r&b hits. When we used to slow drag to this song, the girls didn't mind you rubbing their booty.
And in reply to my comment below, I'm a musician to this day, on tour, stopped in Atlanta for the night and Beauty Shop is on tv and it starts out with Call Me by Skyy, another forgotten classic and it made me think of this song and Lollipop Luv and the good ol days. And I STILL look like Prince! Damn shame....
That jam grown folks.....😍 am 42 years old now. Ronitra Saunders indpls ind....love this...😍 Dudes at times feel like that depending on that situation. But as for me love this song album good too. That's just me...

Will Star At first I thought that was Prince. But he usually sang his song in falsetto.
It definitely has that vibe but more of a Ready For World Tonight vibe. I believe they both are from 85/86, I was in 6/7grade. Great memories!!!
As music was at the time that was their intention. International Lover, anyone? Peace.
