I really like the schumann symphonic etudes, they are always a pleasure to listen to. Do you happen to know why the supplemental variations werent published until later? Did Schumann himself reject them or was it the publisher? I have never really looked into it. Great playing as always! ❤
Thank you! It appears to be that Schumann rejected them, but then Brahms restored them in a later 1890 edition according to Wikipedia (or 1873, according to a different source). Also, when searching around I found that Tchaikovsky orchestrated the last two non-posthumous etudes/the Finale! Here's one recording: ruclips.net/video/uOG_D2d7M3A/видео.html
