    Everything about this video I love! The original song, the stunning pre-industrial era paintings, and the explanation. There is something phenomenally-sacred about April for me, so I can see why the ancient Slavs celebrated it as the New Year. This is something I’d feel would be much more fitting. And amazing how a Christmas song, much like much of Christianity itself, was actually adapted from pagan beliefs!

    A surprisingly good performance.
    The sounds of ukrainian phonemes and diphthongs that cannot be pronounced in russian.
    This is not a russian accent. It is clear to hear that the singer is slavic, but not russian.

      to clarify - she is singing in ukrainian but she's clearly not native, she has a slight accent of some sort.

      @@jekaskywalker9988 yeah, my thought as a non-speaker was:so Ukrainian sounds a bit like Russian mixed with polish, but as you said it must be the accent then.

      @@albarence0522I think it sounds good with so-called "Earth rhythm". It is used in folk music of all agricultural nations/ non-nomads. You may meet it in Medieval music.
