talk about how peeps media team changed tracks after his passing and smokeasac re-made all the beats for more profit and removed references to gbc, we will never hear peeps vision, except the stuff fishnarc leaked that actually sounds like an evolution of the peep sound.... unlike this trash
beckiiii626 everyone has, gbc did him bad, real bad, not all of them but we all know who we are and aren't talking bout. But smoke also done him dirty by reproducing with his own twist put on it, peep isn't here to have an influence on new adaptations of HIS creations. Gbc members may have fucked him over in person, but his label and smokeasac are remaking his music in a way that isn't "him" and portraying it as "his vision" despite being changed after his death.
Smokeasac knows lil peep more than we do so whos to say that this wasnt peeps vision no music artist keeps the same exact music style all of them change it up
BRAAAP CITY because these songs were already finished, he reproduced songs that were done, if the songs were finished when peep was alive that that is how he wanted them to sound.
Smokeasac and the label ruined this album, the shit you were talking about it being a little more raw it might have been better is what the original cuts from the leaks were like. Jay honestly man i just didnt feel this album like i did for his other songs/albums, personnally i like his singles better than most of his full length productions, if you look at my previous comment youll see what i mean

Fabian Ruiz i loved this album and I’ve been a fan of both Peep & Bowie for a long time. you’re reaching a bit. the subject matter on COWYS2 would be comparable to Blackstar if it wasn’t so surface level. i see your point though.
i’m a fan of both and x’s new song “bad” is definitely not my favorite i don’t like the beat nor the lyrics. when it comes to cowys pt.2 i dont think it’s a 10/10 for example the song “life is beautiful” is terrible compared to the original. i can’t stand listening to it. i’ve seen a lot of controversy with peep fans about the quality of cowys pt.2 so speaking for some on the peep fan base most of us don’t think his new album is 10/10
Shelby Nigo I did not like bad, but I do think cowys2 was a 10/10. I’ve heard most of the songs before they were released on the album, but I think smoke finishing them was great because it gave him and fans some closure with peep’s music. I do think that falling down was an emotionless cash grab, sunlight on your skin sounds amazing with new production.
I get all of the criticism against this album. Of course the lyrics are kinda shallow and the production is way more mainstream pop like than in the known snippets etc, but personally I really enjoy this project. After a few listens almost all songs grew on me and I can’t get the hooks out of my head.
Cool review. I never thought about the simplicity of life is beautiful. After kind of reflecting on it, the thing you didn't like is why I liked it. That's why music is so awesome in general

You have to go through heart break to actually feel Lil Peep's music. I enjoy your videos but calling this record "unreal" & "unremarkable" was bias af.
It’s kinda funny to me how Anthony calls the lyrics in this album surface level when recently he praised juice wrld’s posthumous album. And in my opinion if peep has surface level lyrics then juice for sure has surface level lyrics. As much as I love juice he has completely stuck to his style in every album wit the only thing slightly changin is the production on sum songs, juice just talks about drugs and drugs and ally and drugs. The rhyme scheme on life is beautiful isnt too far off from any juice wrld song, a majority of juice wrld’s definitely material has basic ass flows like peep. Juice was definitely more lively and more emotional in his delivery but I bet peep made a song with juice WLRD lyrics nobody would be able to tell the difference in song writing. I think melons taken a liking to the emo trap genre as time has gone on and peep is definitely a pioneer in makin that genre accessible to people like Anthony, with the music landscape being flooded wit emo trap that peep played a big part in makin I think Anthony just had to adjust to it because every rapper and they mama is doin it now. Juice wrld has been pretty outspoken about peep and x being influential in his music, idk just kinda think it’s strange this got a 4 and legends never die got a 7
@Don Cheedle I think the only reason juice wrld was more popular than peep and overall jus has more respect in the rap game than his because juice wrld is more marketable. His style is safe, he can easily reach multiple groups of people because he’s not very much of anything. The rock influence isn’t noticeable in anything other than his delivery sometimes, he’s not really trap he jus talks about drugs and has loud percussion, he’s not a gangster rapper he jus knows people.Jus as u feel like turnin on peeps music makes u feel like a high school loser whenever I turn on juice wrld I feel like a middle schooler pickin a song to be in his fortnite montage. Peeps songs have real emotion, and he really did and meant wat he said in his lyrics. I don’t doubt that juice lived through his drug addiction but songs like “Graduation” to me show juice wrld was catering to a more mainstream “they’ll listen to whatever I put out as long as it’s catchy” audience. Peep was more experimental in his music, he wasn’t like juice where u could tell juice was tryna be emo on one song and tryna be hard on another. Peeps style was a blend of multiple while I feel juice jus borrowed whatever sound he needed to make the song big and able to be on radio. The core demographics are completely different, peeps fan base respect peep for the genuine art that he made while juices fan base praise him for bein him and freestylin for a long time and call him a legend for no reason other than he died. And it’s not really ironic that peep blew up after his death, not everyone knew of him when he was alive he was a real artist, His style was unapologetic and experimental he wasn’t afraid to change up his sound from project to project, Underground not mainstream at all. He wasn’t like juice, he didn’t make songs for radio and his songs were anything but safe, his imagine and sound are much more polarizing than juice. juice was never underground he jus blew up quickly after all girls are the same went big on LL and his albums get praised for no reason, People don’t really know y they like juice they jus do.
@Don Cheedle sorry for the long ass comment my bad, basically wat I’m tryna say is juice wrld is more mainstream and marketable than peep. Peep is underground and his style is experimental and polarizin, He was a real human, juice was a more manufactured image, the typa guy people look up to and want to be. His music isn’t as deep or as real as peeps and juice lyrics aren’t depressing and people who see them as depressing need to find real problems.
@@leespn4396 ikr, both of em are different genre, even tho juice wrld was inspire by peep, but juice wrld wasn’t rapping rock and punk like peep does, they both rapping in their own styles. Idk why some random kid compare them lol.

I feel like if you haven't been through depression you can't relate to it. Fans who relate to his words and experiences would love his records regardless, it's not for the mainstream, and when you try to make it mainstream it becomes worse! Exactly what Smokeasac and the label tried doing and didn't work.
I feel like Peep probably had one really amazing album in him if he would've had a little more time to mature and maybe sober up a bit. This album shows that he was clearly improving on and refining certain parts of his sound, but I agree with Fantano in the sense that the depth of songwriting and lyricism wasn't quite there. Unlike him though, I do fuck with Peep's overall vibe, I just wish it would've had a bit more substance to last me more than a handful of listens.
The fact that you had the hellboy album as your worst album speaks volume. As someone who deals with personal pain it’s one of my top albums of all time. You fail to understand dark music, which is also why you didn’t like space ghost purps mystic phonk
"You fail to understand dark music" He has literally given the Daughters' album "You Won't Get What You Want" a 10/10 and a lot of other (genuinely) "dark" music a high score in general; if your music taste palette is limited to the likes of Lil Peep then that sounds like a you problem.
I am a big fan of LiL PEEP, and I did really like this video. The first one I saw from you was the COWYS pt. 1, which made me absolutaly mad with you, but seeing more from you made me understand that it is YOUR opinion being displayed in the videos. I guess that people think he is a god tier artist only because they like them, which is not the case. PEEP is my favourite "emo/trap" artist, but I do see why people wouldn't like him (plain lyrics, whining vocals and over all not much maturity). This probably won't be his last album to be dropped, but I really do appreciate you reviewing it! Love the channel Melon Fantano!
My issue with this album is I don’t mean this in a disrespectful way but I do think his family have milked his death since he passed most of the songs he would have never released the collabs where awful they where unreleased for a reason X and pep never got on so I don’t get why the collab was forced the songs do sound unfinished unfortunately first few tracks where the only decent material on the album
As a peep fan i respect your opinion i don't agree with you on peep as a whole but i agree with you on the new albums and the management team releasing schedule is kinda shit but all love its not for everyone everybody got his taste just don't hate others peoples music taste
Now people you don't need to hate on Fantano for his input on albums or songs that you love. This is just his input. This is his opinion on the album. You can have a different input on it you don't have to go with his opinion on this album. I like to see his inputs on these songs and he is allowed to have his own opinion on albums and songs
I’m sorry about all the comments saying you killed him. Also, you should try and listen to the whole ‘Crybaby’ EP, if you haven’t already. Easily his rawest and my favorite. But hey, i loved ‘Hellboy’ too so maybe it’s still not for you, Anthony - but ‘Crybaby’ has a softer edge and more experimental beats, also more sincere lyrics that sometimes cut deeper than his newer stuff. It’s for sure underrated. Anyway, thanks for another great review.
So long as (supposedly) his new music comes out he will not be resting and will be reviewed on its actual quality. I'm sorry you liked a celeb that died, but that happens every day (rip my boy Stan Lee). Criticism like this is critical to the industry, otherwise 20 years from now publishers will have a monopoly just releasing dead musicians arguably trash and posthumously butchered music.
Anthony, I can't help but notice that you said you would appreciate this more if it had rawer production. Idk if you know but a majority of these songs were actually previously leaked. They had much more rudimentary, simple, and less intrusive production by a different producer that sound a lot better imo. The production was actually redone for this album by smokeasac and I think he vastly over produced them in an effort to make it sound more professional and finished, not realizing that the raw unfinished quality was part of the appeal.

Fantano rates things objectively with no bias towards who made the album. What you’re naming here is called a bias, which would make him a very trash reviewer
@@KendrickMegaFan he rates this very very subjectively. The ratings he gives are based on his level of overall enjoyment
@@R-H-B He said before he rates them based on his perception of production value, lyricism, and versatility. Objective was the wrong word here yeah, but there are a lot of qualities he looks for and it isn’t just enjoyment

Okay but saying listening to this made you want to lace your vegan smoothies with fentanyl was a bit extreme..

Basically this is Fantano doing the take the L dance next to Peep's grave. What a goofball, Anthony

talk about how peeps media team changed tracks after his passing and smokeasac re-made all the beats for more profit and removed references to gbc, we will never hear peeps vision, except the stuff fishnarc leaked that actually sounds like an evolution of the peep sound.... unlike this trash
Where can I find the stuff fishnarc leaked
GBC did him dirty
beckiiii626 everyone has, gbc did him bad, real bad, not all of them but we all know who we are and aren't talking bout.
Rumour has it that the melon can reverse engineer his kills by giving a dead artist a 10 thus resurrecting them..
Smokeasac and the label ruined this album, the shit you were talking about it being a little more raw it might have been better is what the original cuts from the leaks were like. Columbia records have been really money grabbing and it seems like they're just trying to make it least common denominator
Darius R this isn’t a lil peep album he is dead this album was made by his family and friends

I like Blackstar a lot. It feels so odd and chilling and the video for Blackstar makes me feel that even stronger
It came out 2 days before he died, which is even more haunting
Fabian Ruiz i loved this album and I’ve been a fan of both Peep & Bowie for a long time. you’re reaching a bit. the subject matter on COWYS2 would be comparable to Blackstar if it wasn’t so surface level. i see your point though.

LaFlame what x or lil peep fan has said that lmao
I’m a huge peep and x fan and i agree 100% with this comment
i’m a fan of both and x’s new song “bad” is definitely not my favorite i don’t like the beat nor the lyrics. when it comes to cowys pt.2 i dont think it’s a 10/10 for example the song “life is beautiful” is terrible compared to the original. i can’t stand listening to it. i’ve seen a lot of controversy with peep fans about the quality of cowys pt.2 so speaking for some on the peep fan base most of us don’t think his new album is 10/10
Shelby Nigo I did not like bad, but I do think cowys2 was a 10/10.
Thats... Pop for ya

Cool review. I never thought about the simplicity of life is beautiful. After kind of reflecting on it, the thing you didn't like is why I liked it. That's why music is so awesome in general

As a peep fan thank you for an honest review, after his death a lot of people switched up so its just nice to see a genuine response. 💜
You have to go through heart break to actually feel Lil Peep's music. I enjoy your videos but calling this record "unreal" & "unremarkable" was bias af.
Bullshit. There is far better "sad" music than this crap
@@yungwxiner4226 you really just compared juice to peep 😬😬
@@leespn4396 ikr, both of em are different genre, even tho juice wrld was inspire by peep, but juice wrld wasn’t rapping rock and punk like peep does, they both rapping in their own styles. Idk why some random kid compare them lol.

So... why'd you bother watching the video?
MandO Marc because I wanted to know his opinion?
Yes, yes, yes keep crying my child, your tears are delicious.
Give lil peep the freedom he had when he was unsigned mixed with the production quality he had when he was signed and you'd have some bangers
The fact that you had the hellboy album as your worst album speaks volume. As someone who deals with personal pain it’s one of my top albums of all time. You fail to understand dark music, which is also why you didn’t like space ghost purps mystic phonk
"You fail to understand dark music"
He has literally given the Daughters' album "You Won't Get What You Want" a 10/10 and a lot of other (genuinely) "dark" music a high score in general; if your music taste palette is limited to the likes of Lil Peep then that sounds like a you problem.
Just because it speaks to you doesn't mean it's any good
I am a big fan of LiL PEEP, and I did really like this video.
