In South Africa its like a thing to have pickled beetroot (ours is like grated rather than cut) at a braai. We call it beetroot salad but really its just right out the jar. Its the perfect thing to have next to garlic bread, charcoal cooked meat, potato salad and pasta salad its just perfect.
