Seems like the AI in the game might be confused about doors because they count as a block you cannot pass through in certain situations. It might not understand that when a door is 'open' that it can be passed through.
I think it also probably doesn’t consider a path with a door preferable to another path. A human might see a door and an open window and think “I should walk through the door”, while the AI just opts for the path it finds.
A good heuristic might be to try and locate a door, then see if two paths exist: one from its position to the door, and another from the door to where it wants to go. But the second path needs to be a continuation of the first (to avoid going from its position to the door, back to the original position, then whatever path it wanted to do in the first place).
Vedal should really look into that, I'd recommend he 'read into' the baritone mod and how that handles pathfinding because it'll real help him improve neuro's functionality

Neuros model is based on that of a mob rather than a player, Vedal has to specifically code in any non-mob type behaviour like interacting with entities. Which he is doing one interaction at a time.
Exhibit A on "why game AI programmers hate doors and avoid implementing them whenever possible". They only sometimes prohibit pathfinding, count as a block but aren't, are placed as one but are two tall, you have to interact with the hinge, not the center when open, etc etc. They are horrible, and double the amount of AI code.
@@stripesgameclips Having never looked at the game's code myself my guess would be that the villagers don't functions like players; Instead, the AI behaves like doors don't exist when determining their pathing, the doors automatically open when they path into them, and close automatically when they leave that block. I wonder if that's close at all.

@@stripesgameclips its a hacky way, they blacklisted the doors from the pathfinding and made them open through proximity, hence on why the door flick bug exists, because in certain positions, the door has a sweet spot that makes them to Schrodinging itself, in a state of open and closed at the same time
I think the API sees transparent blocks like doors as solid and impassable. She even breaks the trapdoors to get access to the wall by the door until she's told not to break and enter 😂

You're assumption would be correct. She's incapable of pathing through doors, opened or closed.
