- The Go! Team is a six piece band from Brighton, England founded by Ian Parton. Their debut CD "Get It Together" was primarily a solo effort by Ian and released in 2000. In 2003 the single, "Kickstart" was released, followed by "Thunder, Lightning, Strike" in 2004, which quickly became a UK smash and nominated for a Mercury Prize.
The Go! Team's latest project is entitled "Proof Of Youth" and the band are currently on tour to promote the new disc.

thanx, man. now i [unfortunately] know that its not only me. [got the songs from iTunes, and thought maybe that version was bad or something]. Anyways, yeah, their studio recordings miss that Clarity to them. i, of course, LOVE that old 70's tape sound, but, when u have to listen to these amazing songs so low in volume, then u miss alot, i think :\ i must say, i compared the sound of the original recording, to this Live show recording, and this video sounds even better in a way :\

This is weirdly wrong. The music that comes from Ian Parton's brain is joyous and uplifting. But having a vocalist standing with her hands in pockets seems so at odds with that idea. Better than the choreographed nonsense of most videos, or the semi-porn of Sherzinger et al, but still so much less than the track itself which is...err...great.
Search for the real music video, it's amazing. This is the live feed from a radio session they did for The Current 89.3 FM in Minneapolis-Saint Paul. Just be grateful that you get to see them perform the song.
