- The "Marche des Eclopés" is said to have been composed at Napoleon's order during the infamous retreat from Russia in 1812. It is a curious piece of music. The subtitle "La Boiteuse" means the Lame or Cripple March - the music most assuredly limps, its strange, swelling phrases cut off into unexpected silences to the tick of drumsticks on wood. Was it in fact a morale booster, under the frightful circumstances that marked the retreat?

Simply one of the best military marches ever. It was great how they used this march at the beginning of Waterloo just before Napoleon went into exile on Elba.
It fit perfectly with his slow walk to the chariot after giving his speech.
Napoleon was exiled to Saint Helens after Waterloo, Elba was before
"Although I love you all I cannot embrace you all!"
"With this kiss, remember me! Goodbye, my soldiers. Goodbye my sons, goodbye... my children."

From a English man beautiful music .
Excellent musicien mercie Mapoleon Bonaparte pour l'éternelle
song slaps, not going to lie.
