Finally someone gets it. I actually put $20 a week into a amazon digital gift card. And I've Been using that to pay for all my Amazon preorders. And i attach all my cash back rewards to Amazon as well. And i also get rewards points that come from Microsoft bing that is also converted into amazon gift cards every month. And all my amazon stuff if set so i always have the money available and half of it is rewards money. And i got a target red card to take advantage of the 5% discount on all purchases. Plus a 3 month return window. So if i want my money back. I got 90 days to decide. I only pay full price if i buy from BBTS, Entertainment Earth, Mattel, or Hasbro. So i only get exclusives from them. Example. I just picked up 7 python patrol flight pods for $13 each because they're on clearance around me. But if I get them from Hasbro they may never going to clearance.
Yes!!!!! Doing it like that you never miss a beat and you never feel like you took too much of a hit. I think Amazon and target are the main places I go now unless it is a exclusive. I will do big bad toy store if it’s something so hot and I happened to miss it and they have it for pre-order.
I don't mind preorders, I just get rankled when they have exclusives and fomo that some of us will never get the chance, even if we have to pay a $50 entry fee, we have to be in at the bell or before the bell. I'm trying to preorder from anyone but Hasbro. Amazon, EE, BBTS, anywhere, even Target or Walmart even when they either cancel my orders or ship my stuff smashed. I won't pay double or triple to ebayers, and I see hundreds or thousands of units of figs just sitting, and I'll offer 35 or 40 for a 50 fig, like 15-20% less and they like, nope and I'm like, ok, go ahead and sit on your horde for another 6 months. You could have a hundred in pocket now or you can sit on your stock and keep increasing prices for another 6 months or year.
The Takara MP Powermaster Optimus looks like a swapmeet toy compared to some of the other options on the market. The third party version that Fans Hobby made a few years back (MB Power Baser) might be the best money I ever spent on a Transformer. It's going for crazy bread now tho. Even the KFC version holds up better than the official joint if you're willing to spring for having to but the truck and trailer separately.
A lot of 3rd party sellers that sell preorders for 3 times the market value on Walmart. is actually Walmart themselves, pretending to be someone else. We actually cought them in the process a couple times. They was trying to sell a joe for double the price. But they still had walmart as the seller. So when i contacted them. The seller name changed to someone else but the price was the same 🤦🏾♂️. So i refuse to buy anything that is above market price. If you go up $1above retail, im out. Its not worthwhile hiving you the satisfaction.
On the pre-order subject Mcfarlane knows everyone wants another opportunity to cop the Knight Fall Bane. So what does he do re-release with ugly cell shading in a 2pack. For the sure fact he knows it will still sell out.
I completely get it. Take a breather, and in the meantime, revisit the collection you have now. As I rotate and curate my collection, I’m having a blast, revisiting figures and reposing them.
