Long after EW&F is gone, when they place this song 100,000 years or more in the future, it will still be killing it. People will be rocking to this regardless of how old this song gets. It is timeless.
yeah, many musics from that Era (60's-70's to early 2000's) are untemporal, peoples would probably remind them even in one centuries while many todays songs are forgotten only few years after their released.

It's incredible to think that "Shining Star" by Earth, Wind & Fire is already turning 50 years old! Released in January 1975, this track stands out for its infectious energy and inspiring lyrics, hallmarks of the band's unique sound. An interesting fact is that Maurice White conceived the idea for the song while walking at night during recordings at Caribou Ranch, inspired by looking up at the starry sky.
True, though when I was working site security downtown Portland Oregon, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic played at Pioneer Square. At the end of his set, him, the band, and everyone in attendance wove past my building in a conga line, drums and horns playing full volume. I had to go outside to watch. Noted in the log: "Disturbance registered on cameras and electronic door monitors. There was no Disturbance. It was simply a conga line led by George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic." When the building manager saw the log, he wanted my security company to submit me for a psyche evaluation, until the local news mentioned it.
I like how they threw that rockabilly guitar intro, you almost think you're going to be hearing a country song, then it switches up to a brass three piece. Masterpiece.

If this wasn't at the end of every single black movie. If it wasn't at the credits, it was at the very end when the main character shows what all of the characters in the movie have been up to after the events of the movie 😂😂😂
This song is very strong. In my opinion it has to do with our development as human beings. It inspires some to discover their true potentials. People nowadays don’t believe in themselves. We all have this untapped potential, some people die not knowing it. A few people we call geniuses have discovered that secret. We are all shining stars. Like you said, song like these are barely found nowadays. Most of the songs today all they talk about are materialistic things.
Amazing when you listen to EWF how tight and great all the components of the band were. The vocals of course but the horns, the keyboards, the guitars and the bass all outstanding great performers all coming together jamming full blast. Even decades later this great sound of so many musicians coming together is amazing.
