This song is very strong. In my opinion it has to do with our development as human beings. It inspires some to discover their true potentials. People nowadays don’t believe in themselves. We all have this untapped potential, some people die not knowing it. A few people we call geniuses have discovered that secret. We are all shining stars. Like you said, song like these are barely found nowadays. Most of the songs today all they talk about are materialistic things.

While this song is clearly known for its intro riff and chorus, the interplay between bass and guitar during the verses is so tasty, so much more serious than the "You're a shining star" arrangement, really helps balance the tone of the song. Fantastic musicianship that is seemingly going out of fashion with modern sensibilities

Amazing when you listen to EWF how tight and great all the components of the band were. The vocals of course but the horns, the keyboards, the guitars and the bass all outstanding great performers all coming together jamming full blast. Even decades later this great sound of so many musicians coming together is amazing.
