  • South Park Cottages, Atlanta Georgia's first, and only, minority developed tiny home community delivering compact luxury with sustainable flare. Booker T. Washington, also an Atlanta native, is the visionary and strategic developer of College Park's new micro community.
Rooted in innovation and affordability, South Park Cottages features 29 lots ranging from 335 - 615 square feet, a dog park, community walking paths, solar lighting, a vegetable garden, and more.
"It's such a beautiful and comfortable approach to home ownership, and Techie Homes is going to do that, not just here in College Park. Next up, we're expanding to Union City then the heart of Downtown Atlanta", said Washington.

Love the innovative approach, building a community, not just houses. America has a shortage of smaller starter homes, and homes for retires. A community like this creates a mix of families that can depend on each other. The walkways and shared gardens create an unique setting that many communities lack, as the focus was on making space for vehicles. Parents can let young kids roam here without fear.

Most of GA and many other states/counties have a building code requiring a minimum of 900 SF - unless there is a home larger than 900 SF on the property. You can pay a landlord to live in a 200 SF apartment, but how dare you want to live in 200 SF on your own land, in your own space! I understand that someone must pay for those school taxes, though, and that most of those come from homes taxes based on SF. But, mankind is smart enough to think of new ways to pay for kids' schooling, yet they are stuck in the past.

Wow, this is just AWESOME, and with a name like his, he has to be innovative. And I love how the nation started thinking about ways to minimize its footprint, but maximize our recyclability when President Obama started preaching about it over 10 years ago. Now the building industry is catching on.
I remember when Republicans laughed at him and said it was just a temporary trend. But Mr. Booker T. is a successful example that going green by minimizing our footprint is the way to the future! And his homes are beautiful!!✔️👍🏽

I think the homes are really cute, but pricing at $200k seems quite excessive for what you get. Plus I’m assuming there will be HOA fees as well. Aside from that, with these homes being built primarily of wood, and being so narrow and tall, and all that glass, I would be pretty terrified to stay there during severe weather. GA is in tornado alley, and the houses look as if a stiff wind would blow them away! Maybe build a storm shelter in the community for the residents.

Beautiful and plenty of space for a single person looking for home ownership. Single people would like a home too, but the smallest offered (without doing a custom build) is 3 bedroom which pretty much prices you out of the game. Father bless this man in all of his endeavors!

Booker T. Washington - consider making these homes and others LEEDS (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certified homes, the global standard/most widely used green building rating system - a framework for healthy, efficient, and cost-saving green buildings, better for occupants and the environment, can be applied to new or existing buildings and homes looking to become sustainable, appealing to investors/property managers/owners/tenants, use less energy and water, lower costs for tenants, may also qualify for tax credits and rebates. And I’m thinking might be association/federal/state construction or retro grants!
