Kamehameha is basically just a technique that a lot of characters use in the show and in the game. It was created by Master Roshi (the Turtle Hermit and the master of the Turtle School). It took him 50 years to create/learn it but Goku (the main character) was able to do it the first time he even saw it.
So you need a lot of context to understand the Dramatic Finishes. They're mostly from the canon endings of the anime Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super. Dragon Ball Z is always compared to Superman since Goku (Kakarot) and Clark Kent (Kal El) are basically one in the same. Goku is from planet Vegita that gets absolutely annihilated by Frieza. Clark Kent is from planet Krypton and Brainiac is sometimes responsible for the planet's destruction. There's over 500 episodes from the first Dragon Ball to the now Dragon Ball Super, also movies and spin offs and one (non canon at the time) storyline Dragon Ball GT. In order to get a Dramatic finish you need to be and fight specific characters on a specific stage and beat them with a specific move. Once you've done that you get these cutscenes straight out of the anime.
I’m so happy y’all finally were able to react to this. I’ve been waiting months for this. This game is the main reason I’m into anime now. This game has so much to offer. Thank y’all for this amazing reaction. I hope y’all can react to the supers next. 😊
Fun little fact about the first guy with the headband. It was originally white, but it's red now because it's soaked in his comrades blood. 5:24 that's broly pretty much the strongest guy in the Dragonball universe
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Goku is more like Baki from the anime of the same name. He grows stronger with more training. Broly however was just born a beast. A little lore piece when Goku first met Vegeta and nappa his power level was below 10,000 and he was an adult. Broly's power level was 10,000 when he was a baby
DragonBall Z is my childhood which I still love today. This and "Xenoverse 2 are my favorites of all the games. Extremely cool watching this with you two. 🙌
Dragon Ball Fighter Z honestly requires a lot of context to understand the various references and in-jokes. Trust me that if you were a fan of the story and knew the background, the moment when Bardock interrupts his own death scene and says "No! That's pathetic!" and proceeds to massacre Frieza, you would have thought it was the coolest thing ever. And Yamcha one-shotting Nappa and making him to "the Yamcha pose" would have been hilarious. Absent the context, it's just a lot of flashing lights and screaming. Goku is the father of Gohan and Goten. Gohan ages up throughout the series, so at some points in this video you see him as a child, and others in his late teens (he's a child when he does the one handed Kamihamiha against Cell, but a teen when he, Goku and his younger brother Goten team up and blast Broli into the sun), so that's why there was a bit of confusion there. Depending on where the game is in the timeline, Gohan could be much older or much younger. At the start of the show, he's 4. By the end of the show, he's a grown man with his own child. As an adult, he looks a lot like his father aside from a slightly different build and hair cut, so to the uninitiated they might look like the same character. It doesn't help that there's also Yamcha, who wears the same uniform as they do (since he's from the same martial arts school as Goku) and also has black hair. But you can tell Yamcha apart from Goku and Gohan because you know Yamcha will be the one that's dead on the ground at the start of the fight :) The last one was a fight between two versions of Gogeta from two different continuities of the show. Gogeta is the character that results when Goku and Vegeta (the two main characters) use a technique to fuse into a single being that's monstrously more powerful than either of them. Aside from some of the most powerful angels and gods, Gogeta's by far the strongest character in the series. One version of him was from the Dragon Ball GT timeline, where he was a Super Saiyan 4, the other version of him was from Dragon Ball Super, where he was a Super Saiyan Blue (which is basically a god). There's a lot of fan debate about which version of him is stronger, so that finish was just a little nod from the makers to the fans over the debate. (Spoiler alert: Super Saiyan Blue is waaaaaaaaaaaaay stronger than SSJ4).
@@johnlawful2272 I told you, we still don't know, Dragon Ball Super's powerscalling doesn't make sense; Super Saiyan God Goku made the whole universe shake when he clashed with Beerus, but in his Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan state he got nearly killed by a simple laser beam shot by Sorbet. So we don't know.
The way they animate this game is genius. The characters are 3D models, but they have the coloring and shading of a 2D character, so it's the perfect blend of form and function for animation
Also just saying if y’all want to learn the story and characters of this game it is VERY complicated. There’s probably videos explaining Dragon Ball but it would take a while to know everything and it can get confusing to know what is canon and what isn’t.

I highly recommend watching this series just because of how good it is (especially since it'll let you understand this game and the characters better) but basically Kamehameha is the name of an ancient Hawaiian king that the creator of Dragon Ball (well he made all the series but the original is Dragon Ball) saw on a trip there and when it was translated to "Turtle Destruction Wave" it basically made sense to name it that since the school of martial arts that Goku studied under was the Turtle Hermit school and its the signature technique of the school...... it's actually one of the most if not most famous technique in the history of anime/manga

Vegito ( the dude with the earrings ) is just gogeta but with earrings , he was the First Fusion character introduced to the franchise , where Goku and Vegeta had to use the earrings to fuse . The Potara ( the name of the Earrings ) Fusion is however much stronger then the regular one , but it dosnt last that long , lol.

Kamehameha translates to 'turtle destruction wave'. Turtle because it was developed by the sensei of the 'turtle school of martial arts'. It's one of the master class techniques of his teachings. Everyone who uses the technique is either the sensei himself, someone who learned it from him whether directly through teaching or as the sort of fighting prodigy who can see a technique once and copy it, or someone who learned it secondhand from someone who learned it from the sensei. And before anyone says anything, yes Cell is covered by that umbrella term. He's a hybridized genetic clone of over a dozen people, and around half of those people are those who knew the technique by the time their DNA was harvested.
This is kind of technical but it's so impressive how they made 3D models act like 2D animation. Alot of these models are actively warping like 2D animation which takes a lot of work. Like for example 6:21 to make Cell do that in 2D you just draw it out but in 3D you got to make a rig that can stretch the face that much on top of the key frame animation. This game, Granblue Fantasy Verus, and Guilty Gear Strive put in a lot of work to sell the look. Strive even had 3 different lighting systems just to pop the characters out more.
A lot of people have already explained what the dramatic finishes are and how familiar with the franchise you need to be. But I feel a good first step, at least from what I’ve seen, to look up something called “Death Battle: Goku vs Superman” That gives very short summaries of the character’s history, feats, and achievements. Then they make a animated battle to show who would win against the other. It doesn’t give out anything of the whole franchise, but knowing the main character and their details tends to help put the foundation of where they’re from down steady.
Thanks so much! This is a franchise we need to get more into for sure. Maybe then in a year or two we will come back to this to see what we actually pick up 🙃

Dbfz uses a lot of reference to the source material for its dramatic finishers. And Archos is known for doing ridiculous level animation for their games. Their insta kills for Guilty Gear XRD are also crazy. If you want a funny quick intro into DBZ watch TFS's DBZ abridged. Its early episodes are aged and take a bit to get into. But it has one of the best runs to completion of any abridged series. Even if they ended it on a certain arc. Its still a Perfect ending.
Fun Fact: The two characters at the end who exchange kamehamehas are the same fusion of the same 2 characters. They're both Gogeta but one is SSGSS (Super Saiyan God Blue) and the other is SS4 (Super Saiyan 4). But if they every meet like that then the world is fucked. hope you found that interesting.

I am happy that your reacting to dragon ball z content. I really hope you guys watch the entire series! On your other channel lol. Starting from the original Dragon Ball i think you guys would have a blast. Its entertaining, really funny, and the characters/ character development is amazing!
To give you guys some very brief context of what DBZ is... Basically it's a show/manga about a bunch of really powerful fighters who protect the earth/universe from evil bad guys of escalating power. Goku is the main protagonist, and most of the other characters in the show are his friends and family members, including former enemies who become allies. When their hair changes colour it's because they're changing into more powerful forms called super saiyans, and there are a bunch of different variations/levels of those with the gold/blue/red hair, etc. It's a long saga with multiple timelines, lots of characters who are killed and then get resurrected stronger, characters who are actually two characters temporarily fused into one being, and other complicated stuff like that. In this game, instead of having just one Goku character, for example, who can transform into all his super saiyan forms, they have several of his forms available as different playable characters in the roster. Same goes for other characters that have multiple forms/ages/alternate universe versions. Although, as you saw, they do show the transformations happen in some of these special cutscenes which only occur under very certain conditions. DB FighterZ is a beloved game because it's just a good fighting game in its own right, while also being a love letter to fans of the anime with matching art style, animation, and sound design, as well as having all/most of the same voice actors doing the voices in both English and Japanese.

Idk if anyone else explained it but When they change their hair, they pretty much power up to to a second form. The beginning ones where it’s just blonde is , super saiyan, there’s super saiyan 2 and 3 as well and they have different hairstyles too and have different stats as well. After that is super saiyan god, Which is red. After that is super saiyan god super saiyan blue. (Basically super saiyan 1 but God version.) then after that they have Ultra instinct (grey/white hair) There’s a technique where two people can fuse and turn into a powerful being. Usually only goku and vegeta are the only ones to turn into two different powerful beings, Vegito and Gogeta Either using those earrings that help them change or a special dance they need to perform to change in that order. As people say, there’s a non canon spin off series called DragonBall GT where they’re able to turn into super saiyan 4 and they still have their tail, and since they do they able to turn into a giant ape. (In the canon series DBZ, he had his tail but was cut off, not in this series though.) So the finisher where there’s the guy with the tail, he’s just another version of Gogeta, From DBGT. There are different universes in this anime so the “she-hulk” girl was other two people into one. Names caulfina and Kale turning into Kefla.
To really get the importance of the Dramatic Finishes you have to know the context of each one and to do that you need to watch the series. But these are nice to watch on their own, glad you guys did so. If you decide to watch Dragon ball I would recommend Dragonball, then Dragonball Z Kai, the reason why I recommend Kai is because Kai is more or less true to the original manga story with no fillers, Dragonball Super is scattered between fillers and main story so there's no way to separate the two. I'd also recommend watching certain movies in particular DBZ Broly, Battle of the Gods, Resurrection F, and finally DBS Broly.

It took him 50 years to create/learn it but Goku (the main character) was able to do it the first time he even saw it.
Goku is a virtuoso then 😊🤩
So you need a lot of context to understand the Dramatic Finishes.
That makes sense. A game for the fans for sure. We will have to learn more about the franchise as we go 🙂
You should definitely also do all the super moves for this game.
Thats kinda what I expected them to do first.
We will check those out 😇
If we talk about dramatic or over the top finishers/ultimates then Naruto storm 4 is a good candidate
It’s in our request list 🙂
When Bardock turns Super Saijan... that is so much awesomeness
I’m so happy y’all finally were able to react to this. I’ve been waiting months for this. This game is the main reason I’m into anime now. This game has so much to offer. Thank y’all for this amazing reaction. I hope y’all can react to the supers next. 😊
Feels like this was a lot of peoples intro to anime ☺️
When he said “out of all the powers I could have that’s the one I want!” referring to super Saiyan, trust me guy, we’ve all been there
😂😊🤗
13:25
" Too much blue "
😂😂😂
😛
I love that Dramatic finishes are true outcomes against the characters while also some being what ifs
Fun little fact about the first guy with the headband. It was originally white, but it's red now because it's soaked in his comrades blood. 5:24 that's broly pretty much the strongest guy in the Dragonball universe
Damn. That’s a cool fun fact. And we thought Goku was the strongest? Isn’t he like the Superman of this universe 🤔
Glad you enjoyed it 😎🤟🙂
It's truly amazing how much love went into this game. An absolute feast for the eyes.
But you can tell Yamcha apart from Goku and Gohan because you know Yamcha will be the one that's dead on the ground at the start of the fight :)
The last one was a fight between two versions of Gogeta from two different continuities of the show.
At least now we know an easy way to spot Yamcha even if the rest is super confusing 🙃🤗😁
It was never confirmed that Super Saiyan Blue is stronger than Super Saiyan 4
@@danygamer6684 he should be stronger than non fusion ssj4
@@johnlawful2272 I told you, we still don't know, Dragon Ball Super's powerscalling doesn't make sense; Super Saiyan God Goku made the whole universe shake when he clashed with Beerus, but in his Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan state he got nearly killed by a simple laser beam shot by Sorbet.
So we don't know.
@@danygamer6684 that's cause goku had his key down it's like when throwing glass in ssj4 eyes
The way they animate this game is genius. The characters are 3D models, but they have the coloring and shading of a 2D character, so it's the perfect blend of form and function for animation
You know your animation! 😀
The animation in this game is amazing!
The work and love they put in to each one of these definitely shows!
Animation was impressive for sure 🤩
"Ka-me-ha-me...I wonder what that means now"
Time to introduce them to Dragon ball I guess
😂😁
Dragon ball z came out in the 90s
Yea, the super moves are something you can watch. They are stunningly animated.
We plan to check those out 😀
Also just saying if y’all want to learn the story and characters of this game it is VERY complicated. There’s probably videos explaining Dragon Ball but it would take a while to know everything and it can get confusing to know what is canon and what isn’t.
With the whole time travel thing too
We live in a constant state of confusion so it’s all good 🤪🙃😂🤗
Keep up the good work. I know you will grow in popularity alot. Nice work and i hope you succeed in this channel.
Thanks a lot for all the kind words 🤗🙂🥳😀
To understand these dramatic finishes you would have to watch the show. They stick to how every thing happened in the show. Dragon ball is one of my favorite anime's so this reaction was awesome. You should also react to all the super moves, they're very cool
We plan to check the super moves out in future 🙂
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames watch the actual show first
cool to see you guys reacting to my favourite franchise of all time. you have a LOT to go through however to really catch up haha
Yeah not sure we will ever catch up hahah but we heard Kakarot is a nice place to start (at least a game wise) 🤗
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames yeah kakarot is basically a short version of the events of the dragon ball z show so better than any other game to understand the series
I’ll never not laugh at the phrase “Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan”
14:06 Kamehameha means TURTLE DESTRUCTION WAVE as its the signature move of the turtle school where goku learned his moves

Didn’t expect this but I’m super glad it’s here

Cmon! More of this! Yeah!!

Wouldn’t be the first time and won’t be the last 😂🤗
Now i would recommend reacting to all opening from DragonBall FighterZ! ( Also the Ultimates and the Supers )
The story of Dragon Ball begins like so many others: with a teenage girl shooting a little boy in the face
😯😂
Congrats 100k :), i remember when you had 13k subs. :D
Crazy ride 😀🤯🤩🥳🥳 Thanks for being with us for so long
DragonBall Z is my favorite anime ever. If you ever decide to watch an from the beginning. This is the very best.
☺️🤩
Bardock smiled because he saw the future. Goku (his son) against Frieza.
😎👍🙂
In case your curious about the animation in specific to these games, Dan Floyd of New frame plus did a roughly 20 minute video about the animations techniques employed by arcsystemworks to make the game. It's a fun informative watch
The Kamehameha as a finisher that Goku uses when he knows their opponent is done
😎👍🙂
I highly recommend watching this series just because of how good it is (especially since it'll let you understand this game and the characters better) but basically Kamehameha is the name of an ancient Hawaiian king that the creator of Dragon Ball (well he made all the series but the original is Dragon Ball) saw on a trip there and when it was translated to "Turtle Destruction Wave" it basically made sense to name it that since the school of martial arts that Goku studied under was the Turtle Hermit school and its the signature technique of the school...... it's actually one of the most if not most famous technique in the history of anime/manga
Thanks for giving us more info on the turtle destruction wave. We are checking out Goku vs Superman on Friday on our other channel and DBFZ supers on this channel to get some more Dragon Ball exposure. 🙂
As a Huge Dragon ball fan
FighterZ is SO DAMN AWESOME for including these Special finishes from the Anime and Manga. DAMN I LOVE THIS GAME!

You guys definitely have to checkout the new cinematic of League of Legends - The Call.

Beautiful indeed 🤩
Great reaction. Don't worry about the context too much. Very fun video.
Glad you enjoyed it 😎🤟
Also been a fan of the series my whole life
really great reaction for one of my favourite games! it's cool to see that even people who aren't into dragon ball can still appreciate how cool some of this stuff looks. i do recommend looking into the super moves/transformations compilation as an accompaniment to this! you get to see a LOT more characters in action there.
it's a shame the actual show is such a huge undertaking, otherwise i'd recommend that too 😔 fantastic video though, really entertaining! hope you guys had as much fun recording as i did watching
It is for sure a huge undertaking with all the different formats and editions and what not 😅 We will never be experts 😂 But it was a fun watch even if we didn’t get it 🤗
This is a really cool reaction, loved it

1:21 this scene is such a middle finger to canon and i love it
That green girl just made a wish she didn’t do anything really skillful, more like good timing. She sent Broly back to his home with a wish from that dragon.
Thanks for explaining that part 🙂

We plan to check out the supers and ultimates for this as well 😀
Tatsunoko VS Capcom supers would be cool, it's a game that flew under the radar for having Capcom fight an anime studio that is only truly big in Japan, with all the wackiness and awesomeness that implies.
First time hearing about that. Will add it to our request list 😇
I love how their facial expressions change every time they see a new character
😂🤗
Kame hame ha is basically japanese for turtle destruction wave. The reason for that name is the man who mastered it first known as turtle sage or master roshi
😎🤟🐢
Vegito ( the dude with the earrings ) is just gogeta but with earrings , he was the First Fusion character introduced to the franchise , where Goku and Vegeta had to use the earrings to fuse .
The Potara ( the name of the Earrings ) Fusion is however much stronger then the regular one , but it dosnt last that long , lol.
😎👍😀
Potara isn't stronger than the fusions dance. They are equal in power.
Would love to see u guys react to some dragon ball stuff from the anime. Especially the fights. They're just too gorgeous. I'd recommend:
1. UI Omen Goku vs Jiren
2. MUI Goku vs Jiren
3. Goku vs Frieza
3. Gogeta vs Broly
4. Goku vs Broly
5. Vegeta vs Broly
6. Goku vs Vegeta

Thanks for the vid recs for future Dragon ball vids 😀
The reason they were changing their hair was because that was a power up called “Super sayain” it’s really iconic in the anime community well not just the anime community honestly iconic around the whole world if y’all decide to watch the anime you will see why people call it iconic and hopefully you will love this wonderful world of dragon ball like a lot of people and I know a lot of events was confusing but once you watch the show y’all will understand 😅
Confusing but still very spectacular to watch 🤩
Thanks for telling us that 😀
I recommend checking out the Goku vs Superman DEATH BATTLE.
We plan on checking that one out eventually 🙂
U guys should definitely watch all the series I have been watching dragon ball since they started
Gonna take us awhile but we will be getting more into it 🙂
This is kind of technical but it's so impressive how they made 3D models act like 2D animation.
Appreciating the technical aspect of it all is a good thing 😊🥳
A lot of people have already explained what the dramatic finishes are and how familiar with the franchise you need to be.
But I feel a good first step, at least from what I’ve seen, to look up something called “Death Battle: Goku vs Superman”
That gives very short summaries of the character’s history, feats, and achievements. Then they make a animated battle to show who would win against the other.
It doesn’t give out anything of the whole franchise, but knowing the main character and their details tends to help put the foundation of where they’re from down steady.
We’ve been starting to check out some death battle on our other channel and will for sure check out that one at some point 😀
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames

It’s a very long journey, that series.

You guys should definitely watch Dragonball Super: Broly. It does give you somewhat of an insight with the origins of our beloved protagonist. Not by much but there's been many people who've watched the film blind since the film really popped off when it released in cinemas. Hope to see more DB content in the future though, good shit
Appreciate the recommendation! 😀
Why would ever watch DBS Broly without watching DB, DBZ and DBS?!!!?
No that's dumb
When their hair turns blonde they basically just power up and turn into super saiyans. It goes from super saiyan 1 to 4 and a few other special forms.

“KAMEHAME: Hawaiian for Lonely wave.

Kamehameha means turtle destruction wave
😎👍😀 Thanks!
The big dude, the one with the pecks, with the green hair is broly
It's vaguely based on Sun Wukong of chinese mythology. In Japan he's called Sun Goku which is the main character. I'm guessing thats why that red Goku had a tail. I haven't seen the show but I know that much.
Same as Black Myth Wukong game? 🤔
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Yep, though that one is a bit more accurate to the myth I'd say.
I didn't know i needed this in my life
😊🤗
Dbfz uses a lot of reference to the source material for its dramatic finishers. And Archos is known for doing ridiculous level animation for their games. Their insta kills for Guilty Gear XRD are also crazy.
If you want a funny quick intro into DBZ watch TFS's DBZ abridged. Its early episodes are aged and take a bit to get into. But it has one of the best runs to completion of any abridged series. Even if they ended it on a certain arc. Its still a Perfect ending.
Appreciate the recommendation! 😊😀
This was awesome! I picked up the game just a week ago and having a blast with it! Happy to see you both give a reaction to it since I haven't seen it myself as well! Can't wait for the day when I see a Guilty Gear Xrd Rev2 'Destroyed' reaction

I am happy that your reacting to dragon ball z content. I really hope you guys watch the entire series! On your other channel lol. Starting from the original Dragon Ball i think you guys would have a blast. Its entertaining, really funny, and the characters/ character development is amazing!
Slowly getting into it and checking out more stuff from the series 🙂
Appreciate the quick synopsis 🙂
This was awsome i really enjoy this kind of content and i love your channel so much, damn this week went fast hope we can get some sonic the hedgehog and maybe some madness combat in the coming weeks. ❤

The Saiyans Are Here
Idk if anyone else explained it but When they change their hair, they pretty much power up to to a second form.
The beginning ones where it’s just blonde is , super saiyan, there’s super saiyan 2 and 3 as well and they have different hairstyles too and have different stats as well.
After that is super saiyan god, Which is red. After that is super saiyan god super saiyan blue. (Basically super saiyan 1 but God version.) then after that they have Ultra instinct (grey/white hair)
There’s a technique where two people can fuse and turn into a powerful being.
This just made our head hurt 😂 We got a lot to learn 😅🤯
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames definitely a lot of stuff. I’ve just grew up with it. I may be missing out some stuff, but that’s the basics.
Gogeta v Janemba finisher is the most disrespectful one.
true gogeta went down a form before before finishing him
To really get the importance of the Dramatic Finishes you have to know the context of each one and to do that you need to watch the series.
Thanks for the movie recs for series 🙂
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames watch the series then the movies for gods sake, if you watch the movies and nothing else then you wont understand anything that's going on
