Also, the monorail stops at Westgate. You can literally get to the center strip area within minutes.
I've never taken the monorail. Does it accommodate scooters for those who can't walk?
It is world famous for being Elvis Presley's home in Vegas and appearing in the movie That's the Way It Is.
Unfortunately they changed the name of the Hotel and a lot of things from that Golden Age,
including Elvis' suite, which any Marketing student understands should be preserved as it was.
I think the new owners have a Gold Mine in their hands and very strangely don't seem to understand this.

You didn’t mention the monorail that takes you from the Westgate all the way down the strip. It is also the closest hotel to the Convention Center.
Yes, this is what really makes it a Yes for me, you can get to the strip super easily on the monorail, the wife and I love the Westgate.

Thanks for a great vlog! I worked at the old Hilton casino 20+ years ago. Good to see the property has been kept up. Benihana's still looks beautiful and the Sportsbook has maintained its reputation for the restaurants/good food. The property was known as a quiet place where celebs could hang out without being bothered. And hey, it's where Indecent Proposal was filmed. I do miss the Star Tek experience though...Quark's bar was awesome!
Quark's was lots of fun. My wife and I took a photo with some Klingons there. While we were posing one of them growled to me, "Your female is groping me!".
wow its good to see someone who saw all the same Hilton I saw. The Star Trek Casino area was awesome and Benihana was the best.
Another amazing, concise review. The Monorail stops at the Westgate, so you're just minutes from all the strip attractions.
I too was surprised there was no monorail mention as that was what brought me to the property to see both the superbook and the star trek experience. A short ride connects you to Flamingo through the Ballys stop and Tropicana through MGM.
Two years ago, a few of my friends and I stayed at the Westgate and it was a disaster. We got 3 rooms and each room had a problem. One room’s sink leaked loudly all night, one room’s sink leaked so much that it flooded the hallway( management never came by to fix the problem and did not offer us a different room). Last room looked like they never changed the sheets or vacuumed the carpet. We stayed for 3 days in these conditions and were offered a free night for just the room that flooded the hallway. Will never stay there again.

Anyone going to Vegas DO NOT sleep on the Palace Station, Great Restaurants, Great Prices and The Rooms are solid. Westgate is a solid choice as well but I prefer the restaurants at Palace Station.
Elvis' Eternal Home in Vegas, International Hotel and then Hilton! The movie That's the Way It Is was filmed there.
We are going to Vegas in April. We will definitely go to that sushi buffet place. Thanks for sharing your vacation with us
I just got back from the Westgate. Arrived at Noon and they let us have a room early for $25 which was well worth it. Great customer service, room was clean and nice. The entry level room had a huge shower with cool rain head and a 50” TV. On Coolist’s recommendation we went to Fresco and the portions were huge and prices reasonable. They gave us a free one hour late checkout. The only downside was constant waits for elevators and long lines and then packed in there like sardines. The ride took forever because we stopped at almost every floor where people were waiting and could not get on due to it being full. It really marred the trip and I will not come back here because standing in line for an elevator got old.
And the memories of Elvis performing there still bring good Vegas karma!

My first trip to Vegas july 1975 stayed at the Hilton (now westgate). At that time was biggest resort hotel in the world -2700 rooms.
Was 18 - my first time in a casino & guest of my parents who were on a junket. Had card that allowed me to order food in any restaurant on site for 2 including room service - Was on top of the world :) the best trip ever ! Remember eating at Benihana & they used to have outstanding steak house at the Hilton. Going to old time Vegas shows where they put 3 drinks on the table for everyone before the show started & circus circus when it was still a beautiful place !

Great video to one old time fave of mine. I haven’t stayed there since it was the Hilton. Having gone to many Comdex and CES conventions, I stayed at the Hilton a lot. I recognized the marble and chandeliers and Elvis, all from the International and Hilton. Resorts World has some homages to the place. While all the convention folks paid through the nose, I played and got comped or $50 nights during the convention. It was soooo convenient. That’s who stays there, are you sure they converted rooms to time share? They always sold Hilton timeshares at the meeting place of the two hallways. It was for the towers they were building back then, now all built. They bank on conventions so no rooms is an issue but Covid had to be a giant hit. Benihana area is still gorgeous. Eaten there a bunch and the other sections, no unlimited sushi in my time, sadz. You missed, IMHO, a major selling point. The Monorail is right outside the front door. Buy a day or multi day pass and go from Sahara to MGM in minutes. So convenient and cheap. Beats Ubering.

Your are correct sir! Until Circa's sportsbook came along, the Westgate sportsbook was touted as the largest in the world. Circa now lays its claim to fame on that title. Cheers!
Ngl westgate service is terrible. 1st room smelled, 2nd room had clothes on the ground. No microwave no plastic knives. Ice machine had top off and machinery exposed. Worst hotel experience ive ever had. Had fun though

The Westgate ised to be the Las Vegas Hilton. Is it perhaps still tied to the HILTON Chain? And I'be stayed at both.

My first trip to vegas in 1975 we stayed at the LV Hilton now the Westgate and at that time it was the largest hotel in the world. Another fact is that Elvis was in residence there and lived in the most over the moon suites imaginable with over 30,000sq feet. Check it out on RUclips

I worked there for almost a year. Don’t stay at that hotel. They attract only very low class clientele, the rooms are old and filthy, the smell of weed permeates every room and there are constant issues with vagrants breaking into rooms.
Add to that the constant domestic violence issues and prostitutes stalking the property. If you’re lucky, you’ll get robbed before you even check in! I’ve seen it all!!
The parking areas are very unsafe and vehicle break ins are a daily event. This is one of the most low budget hotels near the strip. Yes, it is very affordable but that’s also way it is garbage. You get what you pay for. Do not stay at that property no matter how nice this video makes it look.
You sound BITTER. We've been going to the Westgate TWICE a year since 2015 and not ONCE were we ever robbed, seen ANY DV or prostitutes, have rented SEVERAL nice rental cars and NOT A ONE was ever broken into and lastly never had our room broken into.
However... I will say during Covid... I think all the hotels were very desperate and allowed some not too decent people to get a cheap stay and at that time damn near ALL of Vegas stunk of weed. It was terrible, remember all the idiots in those damn rascal scooters??🤦🏾♂️

I really enjoyed my time at Westgate inside of the building it was nice it was impressive the food was really good the only thing I didn’t like was while inside the building I was constantly bombarded by people trying to sell me a timeshare other than that nice place good price
When I first stayed there in 93,' The Las Vegas Hilton & Flamingo Hilton's were special places!
Some of the best Luxury Suites in Vegas, as well.
When they had Elvis, the showroom was packed every night. Plus, this was the businessman's hotel for non-stop conventions through the early 2000's. It was by far the top grossing Hilton in the World for decades!

Thank you for the kick to visit again. I first was wowed by the area leading to Benihana (eeeek) about 45 years ago when I was sneaking in underage. Stayed many times when it was the Hilton and even as the LVH. The Westgate stopped booking some entertainment I liked.....and I got out of the habit. Your sushi review tells me I'll be there next trip! Thank you.

I loved this place. I like how the monorail stops right at it and takes you to any casino. We stayed there for our 10 year wedding anniversary and they upgraded us when they found out. The only part we didn't care for was all the people trying to sell you timeshares every time you go in. We stayed there 6 days and they tried every time we came downstairs. But I will definitely be back and if anyone hasn't stayed there yet I highly recommend it for the price.

Hi! I have been here for a month now. I like it here but it’s totally different from Las Vegas Strip. My move went smooth. I transported my car here and received that first. My belongings came around 3 weeks later. Please do an appointment for DMV because that could be 1 or 2 months later before getting your car registered. Nevada goes off of your MRSP and year that will be the registration fee for your vehicle (didn’t know that until I called my insurance) Your car insurance will be higher. The people are really nice. For the locals bowling, movies, and sport boards are located inside the casinos along with certain restaurants. The restaurants and locals spot are good. I hope this helps.

I just want to say, the Westgate has FOUR permanent shows. Manilow is the residency (it's actually an entertaining show in the LARGER arena, fan or not it's a solid show) then you have the Soul of Motown Tribute Show (really good show), Jen Kramer Magic (family friendly decently entertaining show) and the Bronx Wanderers (rock n roll show).
They used to have George Wallace (HILARIOUS) and Sexxy the Show (it was just that... a SEXY topless revue) but then they went all "family friendly" after C-19. 🤣
Anyway... the point is they ALSO, host different events and tours so it really just depends on when you're there... so I'd suggest checking out their website before you go, you might catch a REALLY GREAT show.
Lastly... he's right, there aren't any "clubs or lounges" but... the International Bar does host live bands (local to cover), guest DJ's on weekends. The SuperBook does SUPER KARAOKE which is an awesome time after a few or MANY drinks. Lol

We went to the Westgate for the first time last Friday and was pleasantly surprised as well. It was gorgeous! There was a live rock band at the international bar and the vibe was incredible. Everyone was dancing and having a great time! So maybe when you check it out again in the summer, you’ll see the night life. Thank you for another awesome video 😄

Stayed at the Springhill across the street. Westgate had the best blackjack tables during my trip. Affordable too... Some $10 tables during the week and a $15 on weekends.
what room is that? I'm looking at that hotel and the 1 bedroom villa or luxury suite look nice, not sure if I want to spring for the suites price difference if the villa is a decent room.
Would never stay. Use to work there. Horrible owners just interested in selling timeshares. They treat the employees poorly. Grade F

This is honestly the second consecutive review of yours that I felt was more rushed/hurried in its pacing. It may just be indicative of personal preference, but again: I think your reviews are at their very best when you let them breathe more as though you're soaking everything in and having a zen-like moment while doing and also vicariously taking us along on the ride as if we're people-watching you, as well as making us aware of possible things that might disappoint us or things we might want to consider. And much like the Orleans review, the pacing of this felt more like a 200-meter dash than a leisurely saunter.
That said, your Vegas reviews are still by far the best in my opinion among RUclipsrs (and that's saying a lot because I do LOVE the production quality of both Travel Ruby and Pompsi's videos...............I just think theirs are more style/aesthetic over substance and though I enjoy both I prefer substance) and I strongly agree with you that it's a shame Westgate is sooooooooo overlooked and under appreciated much like Sahara and STRAT. I'd honestly give Westgate a 2.5 using your grading rubric because I definitely consider it a better than tolerable choice among the best given the value, amenities and atmosphere, even though I wouldn't normally tug at the ankles of my friends recommending it to them when there are other options abound. I think where they mainly lose points with me to keep it from being a 3 are 1) having a very mediocre pool, 2) lacking a nightclub and 3) despite being reasonably clean and well-maintained in spite of its age, still lacking in the way of theme or overt experience. I intuit older demographics will enjoy this property more than younger ones overall, though I certainly think younger folks shouldn't be dismissive or write this place off. =)
