Hey there! I'm a new subscriber. I have to say that that was a cool way to knurl. You taught an old dog a new trick. I do like you videos. And your lathe. So much so that mine is on the way as I type. Please keep the videos coming.
I bought the same A2Z QCTP for my old Taig micro-lathe and then fit it to my new Sieg mini lathe by making some modifications. I LOVE the thing and you're right, although the quick change ability is a plus, the real benefit is that the bits will always be centered to the work when you change tool bits (unless you sharpen it first.) Setting the bit to center couldn't be easier. Unfortunately, I recently tried to order more tool holders from A2Z but was unable to get to their website. Rumor has it that the company has been sold and may not be producing these QCTPs and tool holders anymore. Should have bought more when I bought the original set, but at least I can get by with what I've got.
I agree, I hate that thread. I assumed they were metric but it's the only weird thing on these and it's the one thing I really hate. I need a couple more holders but I will probably make my own in the end since the set screws are not metric and not cheap either. I have been debating doing this, but the more I think about it I figure I might as well learn to make my own tools now.
P.S.: You can still purchase other brands of QCTPs from "LittleMachineShop.com" for 7X10, 12 etc mini-lathes, but I don't think the toll holders will fir the A2Z tool post.
Nice, thanks for the video. How do you like the little grizzly lathe? I have the g0752 and really like it. Jim
Good videos.
you'll be buying more of the standard tool holders soon. 2 just ain't enough! :P
Will this fit the Myford ML7?
A2Z CNC is out of business. Last I checked some of the left over parts were still for sale.
