    A master craft of a short story, masterfully read!

    The Necromancers Handbook is a true gem! I have the map of Sahu printed and laminated. It's clearly based on Clark Ashton Smith's work!

      My campaign group is wrapping up a Dark Sun homebrew campaign, then we’re gonna play a short Warhammer Fantasy adventure about unionizing in the industrial city Nuln… then we are off to Al Qadim where I will be rocking Sahu myself. Probably July at the earliest before we get there!

      @@thrillingsuspensefantasy I'm a huge fan of Dungeon Crawl Classics. They have a Lankhmar setting and I'm going to place Sahu a bit off the edge of the map. Deserted cities on remote islands are very tempting targets for greedy players!

      I’ve got the Lankhmar stuff as well but haven’t run any games. I had a chance to play a few games with Doug Kovaks and Wayne Snider at Origins and loved it! Too many games, not enough time. We probably play .65 times a week with cancellations and kids and the rest of it.

    D&D owes a lot to CAS. Well read, sir.

      it's weird to think that most people get to CAS via appendix N--for me it's the reverse!

      @@blakmajk3512 hey-hey I'll take it haha. I pronounced geas wrong until I was corrected :p -- I think made up names are in a different category. The video next Friday has another very confusing name, "Valdese" which, in context, I chose to pronounce "Valdehssuh" after puzzling for awhile. Bonus points if you know what the story is based just on that!

    What would be considered, "low fantasy"? Like, werewolf/vampire romance? Lol. I know what ya mean about the conveyance of that sword and sorcery atmosphere though, whenever I want a sure-fire fix R.E.Howard's Scarlet Citadel does it for me, though I do prefer the Conan stories written by other authors like Robert Jordan over the originals mostly.

    • @thrillingsuspensefantasy
      @thrillingsuspensefantasy  Месяц назад

      Low fantasy would be stuff that has a limited fantasy element rather than being wholly suffused with magic-most Conan would count that way in my estimation! I haven’t read or watched any of the vampire werewolf romance stuff so I can’t comment.

    Poseidonis takes place before zothic ( probably misspelling) so perhaps this is the same place at different times or same souls reincarnated and dooming themselves with similar mistakes?
    And I'm seeing what you mean by this being like the dunsay tale
    And I'm surprised you haven't read your own works on here
