      I think he deserves a signature guitar ! He would possibly say no ? And maybe it would be better to wait some time but he is very influential and If there was a lighter model made of the Yamaha rev-star I would be trying them !! I recently tried an ESP white snow with active pickups guitars that I loved but my back was hurting after 5 minutes . They were way too heavy and it made me so annoyed. I have a pain condition. Anyway with the Yamaha if they can make the guitar weigh less than 3.0 kilograms that will make it more accessible!! How about 2.5 kilograms ) I think epiphone casino and myIbanez quest are 2.5 kilograms roughly . Anyway I personally think a guitar that is lighter would be excellent for his style of playing ! Especially if you want to play and practice for an hour and then take a :) break . I do hope Matteo is treated well by Yamaha ! He seems quite loyal to their guitars .

    Lots of cool facts about Matteo.
    First of all, he proves that even after so many giants on this instrument, a kid from anywhere can still can come into the scene and be different and original. Second, the fact that he doesn't need a really expensive rig to sound amazing is a really good lesson for a lot of us who think that "another pedal" ou "another guitar" is what's gonna make us sound amazing. Well, maybe we should just practice more! Last, it's pretty refreshing to see the "fair play" on so many established artists on giving such a good light on a new talent. Guys like Steve Vai, Satriani, Bonamassa and so on, have been propper class acts in that regard.
    Cheers.
    HM

      @handyc77 28 дней назад +1

      He's not that different other than he plays with his fingers. What he has is amazing skill. Acrobatics on guitar. That was what the 80's did. So this is regurgitation. So I want to see him write. His album has alot of noise with zero focus on composition. It's very self indulgent. Very opposite Eddie Van Halen. EVH was always about serving the song. He was the rhythm section. and you can sing his solos. That's a legend. If Matteo can actually write? The sky is his.

    • @1satisfiedmind
      @1satisfiedmind 25 дней назад

      @handyc77 in this interview he did state that composition is the direction he is taking, so I think he gets it. I haven't heard the album yet so I can't comment on noise, but I have seen some great live vids with some very melodic playing. You're right, the sky's the limit. He seems to have his head on straight and goals.

    • @handyc77
      @handyc77 25 дней назад

      @@1satisfiedmind let's hope he can write. First album... Not one song on it I could walk awaying humming the songs in my head. That's writing. Thats composition. Find a motif and make itt musical. Take chances. Start writing it down. and turn that into art. AND kill the hoodie. Because the appreciation for skill died when Kurt Cobain landed. And all of a sudden, a ton of players (who were just as good as matteo without the fingerpicking.) who were out of jobs because we had forgotten what Dylan said "All you need is 3 chords, a red guitar and the truth," Arpeggios and scales up and down the neck is impressive. But when it comes to the human heart? You only need three chords. And when we are wanking with our guitar all day, it starts to become masturbatory. So what is jaw-dropping to the guys who are just in awe. Odds are most women find it boring. What he should do (and I don't even care for the guy) is have John Mayer teach him how to write a song. But that requires humility and welcoming data so he can improve

    • @ub59
      @ub59 24 дня назад

      @@handyc77 You've just dissed every non-composer classical master on Earth. Master the instrument and technique, which are important, then meditate on making original compositions. The best of two symbiotic worlds. And Mancuso is young and humble enough to actually accomplish both and do it with gear that is financially accessible to anyone with a modicum of talent.

    • @handyc77
      @handyc77 21 день назад

      @@ub59
      I didn't dismiss anyone except you, assclown. And I must have hit an insecurity or you're just having a bad day. Ok.
      Of ourse you don't need to "master" the instrument. i.e. Kurt Cobain who was terrible at the guitar but that didn't matter. When I say "master?" have a command of the instrument like it was their own limb And when they are confident in the song and can improvise a solo? they waste with wankery cause the song os what matters He brought in millions. That is what I am refferring to. Obviously we know how that panned out.
      The classical guitar genre doesn't bring in much revenue. Annual average is 50k to 60k. They often have to buy rights to the piece. But everthing is charted.
      Theory is only the language that allows musicans to communicate. We all know music has been around way longer than theory. So only theory is needed in order for one songwriter and their professional partner communcicate the artifacts of the song. If one knows theory, tanscribing a punk song is not necessary. EVH, SRV, didn't know theory. But they knew how to EMOTE trhrough thie instrument. The kids now have RUclips with slo motion to learn how to play any solo they want.
      If you can play a Matteo solo exactly note for note, you only have the skills to play a good song But ultimately where is the song? Metallica is another one where Helfied starts a riff because his rhythm playing was Godly. But Metallica had SONGS. Hetfield could write a reall good hook even in metal. I still can sing the And Justice For All hook.. Because it's memorable.
      Why wouldn't Matteo make that his goal instead? The guitar is having ifun in the mainstream as more guitars were bought between 2020 and 2023. But when kids are just learning to solo without context. if one knows anything about songwriting, just playing 4 simple chords with intense emotion to a crowd. Or wouild you rather connect to an audience that aren't just there to see him.
      I learned by ear with a little theory, and take it by ear. But i had to learn three chords first. On a real piece of shit called the guitar. But the smaeapplies to any rock. pop, jazz genre. You don't have to have backround singers, fake detuners. fake drums..To get something viral or huge, it HAS to HAVE a very stong sense of melody or hook
      All i meant was when most people realliize that AI is writing all their songs, learning how to put your song in the zeitgeist, most DON'T hardly play a guitar. The guitar is an aesthetic to a song unless it's the only instrument playing.
      Asato is going viral purely by releasing 1-2 minutes of a song that we all know. But his arrangement with include both melody and the songs that builds around it. It shouldn't be necessary to play that song with a solo unless the song demands it.
      My point is one can write with three chords. A novice player can play chords and play some. But his sense of melody is so good. people can't help but find that melody or "hook" catchy, Someone remembers it and then the next time that guitarist and his band came though, there were more people (dudes).
      So if one is going to hit an audience emotionally, whether it is played by those who understand theory or one who only knows three chords. Does anyone rember Van Halen? "Didn't know theory but had an amazing ear and technique to play which eventually led him to write songs. Because EVH knew that people remeber the song first. They topped the charts and became oven more legendary.
      Radiohead and Van Halen. Apples and oranges when it comes to aesthetic and a bunch of dudes who saw them just so they can sing along. All of these players who are showing up with a beer gut and decides to play "For The Love of God" (Steve Vai) on an acoustic had to stop. Because se he was having problems soloing an acoustic guitar. That player's name is Steve Vai. Forgotten as artist despite amazing skills. Below are some Ozzy tracks live, studio, and one original classical composition.

      You'll never regret it. I bought a Revstar Pro (made in Japan... the Standard is made in Indonesia, but Yamaha's QC is still tops in that shop) and now smirk at the price of the Les Pauls and SGs as Yamaha is now on level ground or better with quality build, tone and playability. I also ordered an SA2200, Yamaha's version of the 335, and the sales guy put me in a room with a rack of genuine 335's right beside me to try it out. I played the SA for a while then switched to a very expensive 335. They were equal in playability, but the 335 was 2 1/2 times the price, and Gibson's QC is not what is used to be. The decision was easy.

    years ago, I took a basic music course as part of my history BA. the lecturer said something like, 'And of course, non-Western music doesn't necessarily use our note system, the Western notation.' Confused, I raised my hand and asked, 'Could you please explain?' she responded, 'Wait?! Is that not clear? Who else didn't get it?' And the entire class raised its hand."😅

    I like that MM took inspirations from MELODIC guitar players like Eric Johnson and Pat Metheny rather than from boring metal shredders. And also the fact that he loves the BEE GEES makes him a class Musician.

    Been following Matteo since discovering...stumbling across...him on RUclips for a couple years. He's such a humble young man...loaded with deep talent and ability. Watching him play with his dad, Vincenzo, at NAMM and other videos, bring tears of joy. Well done, Captain. Love your content.
