As someone who’s been playing guitar for over thirty years, I can tell you; these are really great tips.
Agreed: Wonderful tips!
I've been playing guitar longer than this young lady has been alive. Her wisdom for music is beyond her years. Awesome tips!! Thanks
Name mi mi. You're awesome there's only seven ABCDEFG. And it repeats over and over whether it's chord notations...
It's the matter of knowing where the notes starts and where it ends and which ones are adjacent and which ones are not
I love you Mimi ❤️❤️❤️
Are you sure you're not that Ritchie Blackmore or Eric Clapton's or tiny Miami's cousin
My best advice to anyone starting out: get decent equipment and find a good teacher. Those are the two areas where young players will get discouraged and quit. Great stuff as always Mimi.
Thanks for bringing up the metronome...I wish more people used one!
Most young guitarists never play with a drummer and thus their timing is terrible. A metronome is a great tool.
@@zachfarrell234drummer = metronome is something i can’t get out of my head
Mia, Thanks so much for the great practice tips. I'm just turning 68 in a couple of days and just started learning guitar, so these are very helpful especially about shorter practice sessions. I also really enjoy your videos.
Thanks a lot Mia. I'm a long time drummer who always loved guitar. I play a bit more guitar lately and these tips will help greatly!
Reminds me of when I bought a cheap acoustic guitar to muck around on, but it was hurting my fingers. I looked at it more closely and decided the strings didn't need to be that far away from the fretboard, so I took the strings off and lowered the action. Made a big difference. Much nicer to use.
If she had been my guitar instructor back when I started learning to play as a teenager, I would be a world-class professional by now, lol.
I’ve been playing acoustic guitar for a long time but I always love to listen to some good tips. These were great. Thanks, Mimi.
Mimisounds, i have an electric guitar that i was gonna set up until i clean up the spaces of my room. I be thankfully for you teaching me how to play a guitar.
Plus you cleaned your room
This is great, thank you. Currently learning so quiet useful!
Mimi
Thank you for sharing your guitar hints & tips. It really helps.
I must practice a lot because that's the only way to perfection.
Thanks for the tips darling ,allways welcome. Thanks
Learning the blues 🎸 on a Blue Monday. Thanks Mimi 😊
Very cool to give tips like that; well done!
Mimi, your honesty has drawn me in, as you radiate with the light of an angel… Please, share and show us how you shine through your authentic music. It’s time to free yourself, spread those wings… Simply let your rays pierce the air, through dreams, and reveal your sky to us…
Great tips! The only thing I would add is get a snark (other clip on tuners are available) so that you don’t think you suck when it just that the guitar is out of tune
This are really nice advice. I wish someone would've told me this 13 years ago
Thank you for these tips Mia. I’ve just started to learn the guitar and have been having lessons since December and really appreciate these tips
Thank you so much for helping these people here😮.....
Love the straightforwardness... Thanks, Mimi! 🐺
these are great tips ....
Nice tips, they brightened my day.
Excellent, cheers from Canada....
It says 1 reply....... nothing there??
Step #6 get a great knowledgeable teacher like Mimi🎉
Just great. Very helpful.
Those tips definitely can help with beginner guitarists! Very nice! Nice job!
These tips are clutch and I should really consider tip 5 because I've been all over the place lately.
Thanks for the tips Mimi! more videos like this please! :D
I love PRS guitar!
I'd add palm damping to that list...
especially for rhythm guitar....
I don't play guitar or plan to but I still really enjoyed this video
Great tips Mimi
The world needs teachers -
Thanks, Mimi.
Good tips 👍
I personally have become familiar with all of the tips shared here, plus I was fortunate to have a good teacher who taught me from the very start the importance of
A few simple things that go a long way when you make a good habit of doing.
Warm up - stretches get the blood pumping, you'll be able to endure the pain at the start for longer and not be strained so much or put off.
And it also helps at the same time with becoming more mentally focused before you start
and that is very helpful in learning something that is essentially like a new language and I hear its good for your health too being on that wavelength is similar to the benefits of learning a new language. I know for me its been very beneficial for sure! I love ❤️ playing guitar, learning new stuff
and that positive frame of mind is what will get you a long way. I have picked up the guitar almost every day for years because I've made a habit of doing it.
Don't just learn on one level, yes the foundation is the most important part of building up a repertoire of songs therefore new chords, strumming styles, riffs, scales etc but it's still important to reach for challenges, like training exercises ir that really hard song you live, work on that fir example over the long haul while keeping grounded in the milk have a go at the meat.
that will stretch your abilities because the basic chords etc will come quicker than you know, so basically be hungry for more but never forget to reinforce the basics, your foundation you'll be surprised by how much in doing that can benefit you in your basics and confidence over time in taking on more difficult challenges.
Breathing - along with posture even if its not perfect be aware of it has to become 2nd nature and it will! This goes hand in hand with muscle memory, and because of muscle memory which comes in time, and that is a given.. only when you stick at it over time.
very easy to forget to relax and breath because you're so focused on understanding what you're reading to play,
But the desire to learn to sound like your favourite most loved music, that which has got you to here, that's what drove me to become better and better,
So dont lose sight of inspiration!!and I'll bet most ppl have had this where learning at the very start
and even later on new unfamiliar stuff... its stressful, frustrating, you have to see yourself doing it, believe in yourself that youre going to be good, you will become it or itll become you, either way its all good, do not give up on that and you will get there when you keep at it results will follow and plenty eureka moments to enjoy when you realise... ! I can do this!@ such a good feeling!
This is true now and when you get there because of more frequency in manageable sessions.. learning rather than once a week for an hour, more frequently at 30mins 4eg each every day results in better memorisation ability, aptitude for learning as patterns become familiar and clearer, expansion of knowledge along with muscle memory
Just do it!
Don't think too much about it just get on with it it'll become easier to learn all that there is to learn that is all very much useful in getting you towards what you first envisaged yourself doing, for me it was imagining myself up on the stage playing lead in the school disco band... corny but teenage years is a delightful cocktail of emotions and a lot of air guitar and singing Oasis songs in pubs with your mates... that feeling is still fresh because I went with it and decided to learn the guitar.
That's also something I believe is important- committing to the decision and not forgetting where you came from, what inspired you so much at the start because its such a potent powerful force it lasts.
Wow, that's right when I'm learning guitar, who knows, maybe I'll get some knowledge from Mimi too
The human body was designed to play guitar :) Any beginners, listen to SRV Texas Flood at full volume! You can hear the rain in the guitar strings, SRV is my absolute legend and for him to place this feeling with strings is enough encouragement to carry on and practice!
A metronome is useful, thanks for sharing, Mimi.
Hope some beginning guitarists (and even some more advanced ones) see this video and benefit from your advice, Mia!
Great review for experienced player too.
Here’s a tip. When you play get used to placing that finger directly behind that fret. Lets say you switch positions and go for something high or anywhere on the guitar, you are right there and you don’t have to hunt and peck for the note especially if you are playing a lead break
Nicely done and couldn't agree more 😅🎉🎉🎉
Nice tips Mimi, thanks.
Thank you Mimi!
Thanks mimmi
Excellent tutorial ...🎸✌️❤️
The pleasures all mine...😊🤟🤟🔥❤️🔥❤️

I whis your always success, beautiful Mimi 👍😘❤
I could listen to her talk and play all day.
Nice teaching!
Great tips 👍
@mimisounds I'm not even sure how to even start learning to play lead after solely playing rhythm guitar for 30+ years??? I'd love to learn though.
Parabéns pelo seus trabalhos 👏👏
Excellent ❤❤❤❤. Please continue lessons. 👍👍
An amazingly well presented shift! You do everything beautifully! All the best with your guitar classes
I Love mimi❤
To your excellent tips, I will ad that acoustic guitar is not a strength exercise. Too many acoustics come "out of the box" will a really poor set up. Don't hesitate to ask an experienced player for an opinion. A pro set up is worth it.
Great video.
Where do you think the guitar is best held relative to the chest? I'm a few pounds overweight so my bosom unfortunately tends to get in the way rather...
the best tip is jammin with friends. you learn more plus a good time.
ThankU4👍🌹🎵
Great Video
Is Like in love : Not so Long , but often 🤭👍🏻
So Beautiful
Don’t know about everyone else, but the callouses aren’t really visable. When I was young they were because our fingers are soft and weak.. I can’t see them on my fingers at all. I do use flatwounds but I don’t think that’s why. I think as you get better you’re not fighting everything, pressing too much or grating your fingers against friction points. Maybe Uber shredders do. Thoughts?
Bonita PRS y buen vídeo
❤ hot for teacher 😍 it good to see you are instructing and teaching in a setting that is calming and inspiring ...
💯

Mia: Are you on Facebook? If so, are you under "Mimisounds?"
Oh okay. I wasn't sure if the screen name on FB is genuine or not. It seemed like you said someone counterfeited your profile.
I know the basics but I'm gonna relearn again. She's very chill in teaching and looks hot.damn
