I never thought I would hear myself say something like this but I like the pix zee mini peach in the urn by itself more than with all that beauty surrounding it. I think her beauty is expressed more when she stands alone. thank you for walking us through this transplant. It is beautiful.
Rhonda Williams I would probably go with pea gravel (marble chips would be beautiful just not my style) instead of plants. But I knew Laura wouldn’t be able to resist it! The peach tree is beautiful. I may try to start out in pot and transfer to ground later. I’m across the country from their home but many of her plants thrive in the south as well.

I use to have a miniature peach tree, the blooms on it were beautiful. It produced small to midsized peaches. I did have a problem with birds and squirrels eating them. I have since moved away from that house and noticed that it's not there anymore. I should have dug it up and brought it with me! 🙂

I just dug my hydrangea and tree rose when I moved a few months ago, replanted them and am so happy:)
We had cherries this year but I didn't get any. (Thieving birds! )

Love that beautiful pink tree❤. This is the first time I wasn't very fond of the planting beneath the tree. Maybe because I think it detracts from all the pink blooms. Still, very lovely.
Carol Bos I’m kind of glad I’m not the only one. I felt the same way. I thought it was a gorgeous stand alone specimen plant. But, our differences are what make the world go round ☺️😉

We had a miniature peach tree in our front yard. It produced nice big free stone peaches. The only problem we had was the birds and neighborhood children loved to eat them. We had to put anet on it to keep the birds out but those cute little kid hands found ways to snack on them. We didn't mind the kids eating them and usually sent them home with a small bag of peaches.
Cathlene Davis can you say more about your tree....my yard is really small,and I will love to have a peach tree there; my son LOVES peaches and the ones at the stores are flavorless...
@@marthacortez346 It was the same type tree that Laura was planting. I live in the Phoenix area of Arizona. Our neighbor gave it to us. We transplanted it from his yard. We one huge mistake with it! We moved and left it behind... When we drove by the old house, it was gone. We fertilized it regularly and watered every day. It got @ 6 ft tall and wide. The peaches were softball size. Some were baseball size. They made great peach cobblers. They had a sweet full bodied peach flavor. The surprising thing was we could grow it in the high desert heat☺

I planted an Elberta peach tree on valentines day & then we had a freeze for 3 days maybe a week after planting. I lost quite a bit of the flowers, but some made it & now I have some adorable baby peaches growing!!! I only have 9....but that's pretty good since I didn't expect any this year!

I love that you can start to teach us about fruit trees. I'm not a fan of the overcrowding in the pot though.

I don't think it's overcrowding she said not to go to big only one to two sizes bigger so you don't shock the tree.

Creeping Charlie is a weed here, I have spent so many hours of my life ripping it out of my lawn. When I first saw someone planting it on purpose in a pot I was like NO! But it looks beautiful in yours!
@@gidget8717 So true! I went to a garden center while traveling once and saw they were selling for $5 a pop what I was pulling out of my backyard as weeds! I was like, please, I will pay *you* to come and get it from my yard.
I know, right?? I cringed when I saw that creeping charlie go in. Creeping charlie in my lawn is the only reason I have a lawn service come in to treat. I have neighbors whose lawn is nothing but creeping charlie.
@@carolb9234 It's a MENACE. I swear it grows under the snow all winter. Spring comes and there's more than there was in the fall.
I was thinking the same thing about the creeping Charlie, we have a house behind us that no one was taking care of that was invested with creeping Charlie well we took it on our self and fried the yard about 2 get away from our house. 😬 I know I know but we have a lot of landscape that I did not want that taking over in.

Oh my goodness! what a beautiful tree, and it's so adorable, I am one of those ones that doesn't have a lot of room so this peach tree could be perfect for my small yard. I love that I can grow it in a container, perfect for my space or lack thereof, lol. I think you should rip out your back formal garden and make it into a fruit orchard! It's so interesting going back to previous garden tours and seeing how much the property has changed. You guys are doing some really impressive upgrades.

I usually love every pot you put together.......but this looked much better with just the Peach tree alone. It looked much classier, gorgeous by itself. It doesn't need anything else. It's gorgeous enough to stand alone.

I have a tree in my yard that looks just like this one. However, it is called a patio peach. Non-edible half dollar sized fruit. I am jealous you will have such large fruit to enjoy 😉.

So excited to watch this video, I have one fruit tree & it's a peach tree. I found it growing in my dad's compost. Transplanted it 4 years ago (2ft tall). I'm hoping this year the peaches are edible, it's about (12ft tall) now.
💥 Tip: I planted mint around it, & I'm guessing that's what kept all the pest off of it.

that peach would make a amazing shrub in landscape since only gets 6 by 6.
I plant these peach trees to,my way of planting these is by putting those seeds in a glass of water and let it sit like that for 1 month or 2,then I take them out from the glass and get a flower pot from my garage.Add some fertilizer and make a hole then put the seed in and obv cover it in dirt

I must agree with others in that I felt the tree blossoms were beautiful unto themselves. While I agree that once the blossoms die out and become fruit and the tree filled with leaves, I too felt it could of stood on its own. Thank you for your time Laura in presenting this video.

we have been growing peaches for years. we have a big tree in our yard. We live in zone 7 and let me tell ya it is a lot of maintenance and care and a lot of times we lose them to freezes, but when we do get the fruit it is such a joy! This miniature in your video is stunning.

It’s beautiful. I had a dwarf peach 🍑 tree (Az). I had to put a chicken wire cage around it, to keep the birds from destroying them 🤗💜

This is a good subject. Smaller trees for the home grower is something I would like to hear more about. Not everyone has the equipment and such to take care of or pick from a tall tree. What brands/types/heights are good for a home grower?

I looove it but i would not plant anything underneath it. It distracts from the pretty tree blooms. I would just put moss to cover the soil..

I absolutely love to watch your videos. They have truly inspired me to have my gardens looking beautiful. I have planted over 23 pots today (mad, i know. But when im in the mood, im in the mood and sont switch off. Can be in my gardens everyday all day and even forget to eat lol) with different flowers. 2 of them ive planted 2 orange seedlings that i already had "prepared" and casted aside. Keep up with your lovely vids as they are truly inspiring and people learn a lot from it. :)

I KNOW what you mean; but, fruit trees are WITHOUT flowers for a much longer period than they're WITH them! I think it might be better to start out with JUST the tree. You can always choose & plant whatever seems right to complement the "bloomless" tree a little later on!🍑🌳

I have both dwarf lemon and lime trees in containers and I too planted bottoms when potted and glad I did the trees have tight roots right at the top of pot so no way I could plant later on without cutting into trees root system. Plants shade the root ball as well which is good here in AZ.

Very cute & pretty! The violas and other plants are also a great touch. I know what you mean about the viola/pansy being pretty hardy. I live in Manitoba, Canada where it can get up to minus 40 degrees celsius, yet sometimes in March, even though its cold and we still have a lot of snow, sometimes I'm finding blooming violas which is a great sign of life :) Thanks for the lovely video :)
