I should give the credit to Pete Cooper's Book "The Irish Fiddle Player". Thank you!
For those of you who don’t know about this function ,you can go up to the right hand corner of the screen where the three vertical dots in the video are , tap on that and screen drops down where you can slow down the speed of the video hence giving you more tome to see what notes are being played and hear and see it at a slower speed.
Best feature EVER!
Love how you play it slow... great breakdown! Ta
Thanks for the feedback!
THANKS, A LOT FOR THE LESSON . I WILL TRY TO PLAY. LOVE IRELAND THERE LIVE ONE OF OUR SON AND HIS FAMILY. YOU ARE A GREAT TEACHER. REGARDS FROM BUENOS AIRES CITY, ARGENTINA
AHHHHH!!!!! I simply MUST go to Ireland some day! Your son is very fortunate!
Thank you. I'm learning it on (sop) recorder but having you slow the tune down like this is still helpful. More power to your (fiddler's) elbow.
Thanks Fin! Good luck with your recorder!
Thank you sooo much! Playing violin is fun again! I literally have learned this song so fast(faster than sheet music)!
May it ALWAYS be fun for you! And if it starts being "not fun".....it's probably because you are going through an important lesson that needs to be learned.....and once you get through it....the fun resumes! Keep it up!
Between this tune and your t-shirt I feel like cracking open a Guinness 🍺🎻🎶🎶🎶
Ahhhh.....tonight I could go for a TALL Guinness!
Lovely work thank you. I love the crossovers between instruments, where I can show my ukulele group your performance as an example of ornaments.
Thanks, Mark. Glad these videos are useful tools for you!
I'm liking this , I'm liking you, I'm learning this from you. rock on missus.
Thanks, Joe. So, how is it coming? I LOVE playing this tune, and you will too!

I'm so glad it helped! Thanks, and "see you" around!
Thank you x3. Love this. So helpful.
+Rachael Renee' Levasseur Great! Hope it helps. Morrison's is an excellent tune to work on 1st finger rolls!
hah, well im not that advanced... yet. just trying to get the basics. ive known of this tune for a while and the fiddler in my band was playing it so i got all inspired to learn it.
i love youuuuuuuuuu you are the besttttttt
Thank you, Sandra! Much appreciateddddddddddddddd! LOL
Hi !
Is it exactly the same version as recorded by the Bothy Band?
Hmmm....not sure if it's exactly the same. But it's the version from Pete Cooper's book.
@@RedDesertFiddle OK.
Thanks a lot.
I recently improved my learning by ear skills :)
Where are the note strips located on the E string....f# g#a and b?
Yes, that is exactly right.
That's fine, but what are the notes? I can't exactly see which string your fingers are on.
Can you read music notes.
awesome t-shirt! where did you bought it?
Clearance rack at JC Penny's LOL. I;m the bargain queen!
Just wondering, for my own understanding, did you change the key of this? I thought this song was in Dorian mode not a minor key? Thanks and also good rendition
Grainne McKeown Hey Grainne, no, you are totally correct. It's my classical manner that equates Dorian to minor. (well, they are similar) and I also equate mixolydian to a major key! Sorrry!
Red Desert Fiddle No don't apologise. I was just curious
Hi!!!! Do you have the score of this Jig?🙂
I can tell you where to find it: go to www.thesession.org
From there, you can search Morrison's Jig, and you can print out a PDF of it. My version is out of Pete Cooper's Irish Fiddle book, but his version is VERY standard....so I'm sure "thesession.org" has a printable version of it. Thanks for watching!
@@RedDesertFiddle Thanks so much Lora you are such a wonderful teacher!!!🙂🎻🙏🏻
It's not E minor, it's E Dorian. Nope?
YES, you are correct. I keep mis-speaking because the modes are not my "native language"! LOL....thanks.
Tabs?
+Tyler Waite Sorry, I don't have tabs.
Proof grace notes can be overused 😂
