The stress is rushing through my heart! This kind of feel could be heard in Luigi's Mansion. Without context, this is like an haunted emergency/hospital room. The patient life lies on a string and you can feel it through his/her crying heartbeat. Save him/her before you become as death as him/her.
Twisted Mansion is my new favourite haunted track in Mario Kart, simply because of how much creativity was put into making it. Though I may be a bit bias since I didn't get to play Mario Kart 64 back in the 90s, and I felt Luigi's Mansion didn't have enough of the mansion to explore.
This can fit in tons of different games outside of Mario kart, bruh Ex: LoZ BOTW: if something scary were to be chasing you during a blood moon night, like a strong mob or a possessed guardian so something. Pokemon: a specific event where you get closer to a powerful Pokemon.

Always loved Banshee Boardwalk for an unknown reason, and always was extremely terrified to fall off the track in the N64 version.
