My Doberman loves water. He had his own kiddie pool until he out grew it. Now he has a 55 gal rubbermaid tub he plays in. He is not a fan of the lake. Waves made him nervous.

I'm a bit confused... This is the exact opposite of what I've heard from vets and breeders, which is to be watchful of Dobermanns near water because their lack of body fat, heavy bone density, and deep chests make them inherently poorer swimmers than most other dogs. Clarification?

Yes, my dog really struggles to stay afloat, but due to his amount of goofy energy he keeps at it. Looks like he is drowning. Lol
