Well, actually a lot of people get into XG because of their rap. I’m one of them 😆 Don’t forget that nowadays rap/hip-hop is one of the most listened genres if it’s not the top 1 already. Also, I don’t think this is a big change; this is something I would have expected from them since the beginning. I love the singers too and their previous songs, but I will definitely expect more of this from now on. What a vibe!! Btw, thanks for the reaction 💜

#XG is unique and they’re serving everything in flawless ENGLISH. They can do so many styles…watch some of the live performances in Osaka, Japan 🇯🇵. Many #Alphaz have posted clips of their Concert Performances…such as “Shooting Star” Rock Version. The versatility is Amazing. Their “Left Right” Remix it’s STUNNING. Simon, “Jakops” is the visionary genius who has had songs prepared and created pre-five year trainings in S. Korea. It’s okay if you don’t care for this genre. I think they don’t wanna be grouped into a box of being known for one thing like most kpop idols are and I mean they’re more so giving us options right? All their songs so far have been very different from one another and they were indeed missing a rap track. While some ALPHAZ may love singing others may love rapping so I think them doing this is really good!! I’ve seen a lot of people saying they’ve been waiting and asking for all rap and they finally got it!!! Great reaction tho - Xg is gonna be massive!
While XG does have (great) writers, and I'm assuming that the writing process is driven by them, we have seen from behind the scenes footage and interviews that the girls are deeply involved in the writing process, and several of the girls have writing credits on various tracks already.

XG is soo cool. They're absolutely killing it.
A song writer can write great rap lyrics. However, the person performing it has to bring it, to do the rap, to make it distinct, to make it their own. XG does that. Each member in XG sounds absolutely distinct, identifiable. This statement that rappers need to write their own rap lyrics has merit, but these girls and the group is not a 'rap' group or 'rap' artists. What they do is perform in a music industry with enough talent to sing, to rap and dance at a top level. They do not only do rap tracks. This is their first all rap release. Quit with the 'They shouldn't concentrate on rap'. They are not. If Simon gave you the lyrics to Jurins second set of verses do you think you could perform it? You can't even seem to give them a bit of credit for what is an absolutely difficult task. Is Weird Al Yankovic a rapper because he wrote the lyrics to his versions of 'Gangster's Paradise' or 'White & Nerdy'? and outrapped and had better flow than 99% of rappers in the industry? By your 'standards' he is a 'rapper'.
Prior to this release, the vocal line released a R&B cover called Losin' you. Their last two singles were vocal heavy, melodic songs. One was a holiday song 'Winter Without You' that can become a classic Xmas song and other was a beautiful, high production, immense sets, CGI, basically the kitchen sink and yet listenable 'Puppet Show' very vocal driven, very XG.
To emphasize their rap line, XG releases the TAPE series that are extraordinarily popular and of course their VOX tapes that feature the vocalists. I don't understand your rather obsessive 'They shouldn't 'rap' so much' which is rather ignorant considering the discography that they have on their resume.
XG fans are the ones requesting 'TAPES'. And if you haven't been noticing, the KPOP industry suddenly debuting 'Global' groups(VCHA, KATSEYE) G/Gs with all rap songs(Young Posse XXL, Bad Villain Hurricane and YG promoting Baby Monster as a rap driven G/G. None of the members write their own rap lyrics.
XG simply calls themselves XPOP. Rap is not their identity. Just because they released a cover of 'Losin' You' doesn't make them a R&B group. And of course in the course of your reaction, not one word, not one instance of you noticing that the entire track was in English. Your statement that this song will not be popular with XG fans is laughable. It is approaching 3 million views in 48 hours. The most views that an XG single has had, exceeding Shooting Star in 33 hours. Hitting #3 on iTunes rap & hip hop chart.
I believe that XG wanted to let the industry know that XG is a unique group with the talent to pull off a track like this. All rap by all of the members, a non traditional track without a chorus, without a bridge, no everchanging mythemic changes, just that primal, never ending bass beat thudding to the end and the members expertly delivering the verses in their own styles, confident and not apologetic to the industry and to the haters. I don't see them listening to you to back off the rap. Until the KPOP industry can put out a group that can do what XG does and does it better, XG sets the bar. They are on their own level.

You know what I love about this song? I was starting to question if they'd switch up their song structure... like ever. It's been pretty much identical with all their singles. This one, totally different.... not even a bridge.
