Amazing acting between Alice and Rita. It’s hard to believe that Alice started out as a background goon and ended up being the heart of the show. The bond between them seems genuinely strong
Glenda ( Rita) is absolutely outstanding in her acting here. I can imagine she really helped and inspired people diagnosed and suffering with the dreadful Cancer disease. I bet she also helped many relatives too. My mother met her at a play once, but as these episodes had yet to be shown at the time, my mum never knew who she was apart from saying she was a really lovely lady in real life and had bleach blonde hair at the time and was very very tall indeed. Mum also met Meg and Erica at the same time. Thank you so very much for the uploads dear friend PCBH95 - you are a true star !!. ;-) Luca xx
I am so jealous!! Glenda really grabbed my heartstrings the moment she hit Wentworth!! This show has had so many powerful women .. its no wonder I have watched and rewatched this show more than 50 times!!!
The character Alice Jenkins turned out to be a marvelous character. Lois Collinder was definitely a great addition to the cast on a more full time basis. She's great!
+Nia Molina as a so called "tough guy" this is the only TV show that's ever made me cry. I was either locked up, or on the run, for the first 22 years of my life, so loads of stuff in this show resonates with my childhood and my experiences as a young adult. I guess that's why I'm watching it yet again.
No matter how many times I watch this I always end up in tears. I love Rita and Alice’s friendship. Having lost friends to cancer I could feel Alice’s heart break.
This is my 4th time watching prisoner and yet again this story with rita has me in tears already, she has always been one of my faves :( thank u so much for uploading xx
Merle (speaking to Kath): "You said I could come with you - and I didn't...I came here! (to the mental hospital.)" The expression of sheer fright - more than anger or anything else - "Merle" delivered in that line...the direction the show took the Merle character was awe-striking. And the "actor" who played the role (it seems, in real life, actually quite an accomplished musician) was transcendent...breath-taking.
I almost cried for the first time since I was about 10 years old when Rita was told she had cancer. Even though it's a fictional character, you really believe she exists while you're watching the show.
I love the look on Fergo's face when Rita challenges her to show her how tough she is. I'm surprised they didn't send Kath to Blackmoor. I would've liked to have seen Rita rehabilitated and out of Wentworth. Sad storyline.
I’m sorry about your cancer. I understand it very well. My father died of NHL in 2019. It was a 17 month battle. Lots of ups and downs. More downs than ups. Sepsis twice. His cancer was even in his heart. 😢

I wonder how many months the woman that played Lisa was? About five months in my opinion. And a boy too. I think Glenda is doing a very fine job of acting here. Anger is what cancer does to people. My cousin Bryan had Hodgkin's and he went through treatment, including chemo and radiation, he got so sick and was weak. But he has been cancer free for three years now. But my dad didn't get that lucky, he died from renal and lung cancer in October of 2012, five months after being diagnosed. Maybe Rita will make it.
It is pretty obvious by this point isn't it that she's just worn out with the role isn't it. For me Joan just seemed to lose her spark around late 1985. Like Bea and many other characters, it just seemed they got to the point where they didn't know what else to do with her.
The Freak could have gone a lot earlier from PCBH and the show wouldn't have suffered. If only Rodney would vanish. Weird how Delia went from thinking about leaving the service to not being seen at all.
+NativeMoon Since I've seen the series many time's I always forget to see where Delia was in her last scene LOL She's like the kid in Married With Children who goes up the stars, and never comes back down, to never be seen or heard of again LOL
+NativeMoon her contract expired and seeing as the show had been axed by then, and the plan was to write her out anyway, they didn't bother with a new contract and just dropped the character.

Freaky Fergo bursts into Reno's office demanding that Rita be sent to a maximum security prison. Where exactly does Joanie want Rita sent since the only other women prisons are Blackmoor & Barnhurst. Rita's dying of the same cancer that took our beloved Aussie legend, and one true Spartacus, Andy Whitfield. He wasn't born Aussie, but he made Australia his home. He was only 39, with 2 young kids. I've never accepted Liam McIntyre as Spartacus. The producers went out of their way to produce a prequel for series 2 so Andy could receive treatment. He was only briefly in remission before passing. I see Rita diagnosed with NHL, I can't help but think of Andy, and how real it was for him.

Glenda Linscott so fit gorgeous 😍
I have not seen those 2 screws before at 35:17, unless they worked at the hospital but they are wearing the same uniform as Joan
I don't think Alice remembers that Joan's father died from cancer. Maybe she didn't tell any of the women.
After bea Rita was my favourite.🥰
Poor Rita I feel empathy for her too Rita is so brave and Alice is a real true friend
25:34 Meg that entire set up with Punishment and Reward cells are SILLY....LOL
Freaky Fergo bursts into Reno's office demanding that Rita be sent to a maximum security prison. Where exactly does Joanie want Rita sent since the only other women prisons are Blackmoor & Barnhurst. Blackmoor (the only other max security prison) is obviously no more and Barnhurst is medium security. The other prison farm is also at a lower security.
14:00 One of the side-effects of Rita's conditions is intermittent poshness.
I think Marty and Spike eventually married and provided Meggie-Pops with lots of grandchildren.
doctor wants to give Rita treatments with worse side effects than the disease and just providing pallitive/hospice care and keeping her comfortable and pain free.
32:08 Did he say "That c#nt breaks me up"???????
Alice/Lurch was under bad influence with Margo who used her and she wanted a "friend", to belong. Alice has had a complete turn around and is a good, compassionate friend to Rita Connors .
did you mean Lou Kelly? Margo was pretty bad too but nearly an angel compared to Kelly.
The Freak is all ❤. No compassion
YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Meryl is back! Love her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brumby has about as much class as my poo I flushed down the toilet yesterday.
39:28 I can't imagine how long Kath takes to braid that hair every morning. Still, when you're doing life and you're looking at another murder charge I suppose you've got plenty time to waste.
Simon Wouldn’t take that long.
Wouldn’t take long at all. You get very used to it if you have had it that length for as long as she has, you get in to a rhythm and can do it with your eyes closed 👍
There's a background character, one of the women sent from Blackmoor, and she is the double image of Maxy
One of my friends passed away of cancer last April this reminds me of her, so sad they gave her drugs to give her more time but they didn't work they just dragged it out more which was horrible
I've had a lump in my throat thru this whole episode to sad
Spike and Brumby must wanna kiss the ground Rita walks on. Blackmoor was like Devils Island and Wentworth is like Disneyland in comparision lol.
wow..Joan is soooo awful...couldn't believe how cold her reaction to Rita's cancer was.. I mean yes it IS Joan but even for her it was pretty awful
Ahem....we're just gonna forget Lori is still in the bin thanks to Joan?
