From my ears that was something of a masterpiece! Great comparison on Mozart. When I show this guy to some musicians they get self conscious because he is SO good. I say let that inspire you to be the best version of yourself. This dude is killin it and we should all take notes!
@@leonardodutra8787 I'm fairly certain this is the one that was custom made for him at MIT by Ben Bloomberg. I'm not sure exactly how it works but I'm sure there is some fancy software/tech involved.
Yeah a lot of Jacob's stuff makes me think he's doing the McFerrin thing. Obviously he's his own artist but yeah, puts a lot of McFerrinisms in his stuff.
Heath Parker cause he did so much but wanna sound humble and calm. I guess he kept the simplicity and innocence feelings on this song (considering Sir Paul created this song when he was young, if I'm not wrong). And Bobby Mcferrin is a perfect example for someone who is really complicated but yet sound so simple and innocent, so I guessed Collier was getting inspired by him and tried to do this song with Mcferrin's style.
This is on another level entirely. Jacob playing Blackbird surpasses every other piece of music I've ever heard. I'm speechless listening to him play this song. Nothing short of sublime
This world still got these kind of people!! The way he splits the beats is top world class, feeling, the things he does with sound on top of it is just breathtaking..!!!BRAVO!!!

If you're on a computer try opening another tab with the same video and syncopate them. I think its sounds neat having those slightly syncopated rhythms... Great stuff Jacob
derrick johnson His is custom made, however you can achieve the same function with a very similar sound using a few different plugins. I use the "polyvox" in Vocalsynth 2 by izotope. Antares also makes "Antares Harmony Engine Evo" which behaves much the same way. These work by pitching copies of your voice up and down to whatever notes you play on a midi keyboard in real time. I'm assuming the core tech is the same with Jacob's harmonizer. One downfall is that vocalsynth polyphony is 6 and antares polyphony is 4. Jacob's harmonizer's is 12 from what I've heard. You could get more polyphony, though, if you have multiple instances of the plugins open and route different parts of the keyboard to each one. Idk if you'll see this comment, but I spent a decent amount of time searching for a harmonizer so if this helps you or anyone else reading, it's worth sharing. Reply back if you have any questions I might be able to help answer :)
@@johnnulf624 just downloaded the 10 day trial for vocalsynth 2 after reading your comment and can't seem to get something going similar to what jacob is doing. how do i set it up so I can sing into my microphone while playing my keys and hear my voice at my chosen pitches in real time? thanks a lot
In a vocoder your voice gets out only in the tone (or chord) you are playing. The harmonizer lets you sing with the tone of your voice (autotuned automatically) and play the chords you want.

Jacob just used a $200000 keyboard as a stand for his plastic keyboard. What a power move
Well, his plastic keyboard is a one-of-a-kind built for Jacob by Ben Bloomberg in the MIT Media Lab, so there's that. Two power moves.
It is a piano not a keyboard so there’s the third movement
That's a vocoder, hard to make the same on a normal piano.
Geez, even his intake of breath is calculated for a percussive effect. Nothing he does goes to waste. Marvellous.
That´s a Mcferrin thing😊
Shit, suddenly I'm glad I'm alive.
As a professional musician, I can honestly say my mind just exploded. Perhaps now we know how the contemporaries of Mozart felt.
You need to listen to some of his other stuff. My personal favorite is "You and I". Genius...
