  • Got a new camera, wanted to test the run and gun capabilities of the GH6 with a Leica 10-25mm 1.7. I went out at 2PM and didn't have and ND filter, but used the DR boost to recover a lot in the higlights. If you have any questions about this combo, the open gate shooting and slow mo features give me shout!
Edited with Resolve, Colour Spaced Transform the VLOG to Cineon Film Log, using Kodak 2383.

Really great footage I see a lot of cloud detail in the sky, does the DR boost help with that? Considering getting this camera for filmmaking but I'm worried about the dynamic range.

I've been loving this camera ever since I picked it up! As for the DR Boost, It doesn't work with Variable Frame Rate (VFR mode) and I think the highest you can shoot with it is 60FPS. Also with the the fact it limits youre ISO to 2000 or above, you really need some heavy ND filters on their to make it work in daylight conditions. That said, a lot of the shots you liked with the clouds is without DR Boost, and the dynamic range throughout the camera is exactly what I wanted, and the VLOG grades beautifully too. The stuff you can recover, and the way it can handle roll off even when things are over exposed is a pleasure to work with. Still discovering this camera, but at the moment it's a dream to use for my circumstances. Let me know if you want to know anything else!
