you dont have to take the grill out. just use and extension with the 10mm socket from the top. that front bolt is accessible with just a wrench to break it free then spin it out with your fingers....

Looks like I'm a little late watching this but I have a 2014 ram 1500 with by the looks of it the same exact projector type headlights, Amazon said they fit however when I tried to put the low beams on I couldn't get it to lock it went in and turned but never locked. Also I saw you skipped the part of you putting in the high beams and for me I couldn't even get them past the case to even try to turn and lock the LED was just way to big to try to put in. Like I said Amazon said they fit and they are the same number as the original maybe im just missing something. Any tips?
Don't quote me but I think the bulbs are 9012 and 9005 for low and high, It's been like 9 months but I do remember they were light tight fit, if you got the same brand as me than it should be a problem obviously , In the question section of Amazon I wrote ram 1500 and plenty of other people have used them , another popular brand is hikari , I put them on my dads silverado and they've been great too

The connector pins/prongs inside my plugs for my high beams are closer than on my low beams when I try to connect my high beam led's. I see you're using 9012's for your low beam, are they the same as h11's?
I see this video was published back in March 2020, have you had any issues with the LED lights shutting off due to overheating? I would presume that the cooling fans on the LED’s need to move some cool air into the housing it’s in and move hot air out in order to properly and efficiently cool down the unit. Have you had any issues with them at all?

They're are not same , low beam is H11 and high beam is 9005 ! ..but double check online for yourself ..... high beams are pretty bright ,much better than stock ones , and my low and high are both 6k led ... if you don't like the ones I have, hikari is another great option with lots if good reviews on Amazon, I put those on my dads silverado and they're awesome
@@jdbino1475 Thank you I did three days of research including calling multiple dealers as the story seemed to vary. In the end, I found out that even my owner's manual is not quite correct and both my high and low beams take the same 9005 60w bulbs. Thank you!

Yes same one in the link is low or high beam ,I forgot which one I losted , the other one is 9005 ( the number are on the boxes in the video too while I'm installing i think I say what they are ) ... make sure you do some research on what bulb number your careers, because non projector headlights are a different number. As well as the new ram classics I believe.
@shanesmith the headlight itself is factory ,typically on the sport and up moddles, mine was a special edition express from factory that's why it has them along with led tail lights

What’s the best decoder for the LEDs I got the same brand for the headlights as you and it would flicker so I got the HIKARI decoder and my LED still flick sometimes now, so I’m tryna get something else for the decoder that would actually stop the flickering
So the ones I got were canbus free already and I never personally had an issue for a year but iv heard some of the higher trim rams don't support it... as far as best decoder I'm not sure but I SiriusLED are decent

Are LEDs supposedly brighter than Halogens? Been wanting LED but everyone keeps telling me how hard they are to install. You made it look simple. Also, do you plan on posting a video on putting LEDs in the fog lights? And the removal of the fog lights?
Hey , yah led are definitely much brighter than oem . They are no different than changing your stock bulb , ram is just a paint to access them for some reason , maybe you're thinking of HID those are little more complicated to install ..... as far as fog lights I do have a video posted of when I changed them look through the vids
I ordered the same lights for my 15 ram and the headlight turn on and off for about 20 secs and the go off and dont come back on. The high beams work fine though
Hey , I was worried about the same thing when I bought them but these are supposed to be error free ( and I have had no issues for like 10 months iv had them ) you might need a decoder from the sound of it , if you can return them , give the brand hikari a try mayne , they're one of the most desirable out there. Or ask in a fb ram group page maybe somebody has had experience with the same issue

The non halogen could be different bulb size , I would double check your bulb size and buy based on that , the non higen could be a h11 where mine was 9012 , if you do have same halogen headlights as me than yes it would fit
Just watched the video myself. No issues with overheating? Seems kinda sketchy to close it up and not have air moving around in there especially with the LED ballast tucked inside the headlight housing.
Sorta scary you would have your intro while driving, park the truck before showing off your new seat covers. Kinda hard to tell when a child might dart out into the street. But other than that very informative video I have bought these same led's s for both my chevy and ram

Led in a projector, you’ll be as disappointed as stock. Just go hid with the projector lens on that gen ram, light output will be so much better. With led fogs hid should have been stock from the factory to avoid all this nonsense
I agree with the projector part as far as hid goes for sure ! I found it easier to go led , and I honestly saw at least 5x more light output then stock bulbs no exaggeration so no complains there A

I had tried hikari and few other brands on my other truck ! These held up the best! Never any errors or flickering for almost 2 years , they're cheap but ill stand by the quality

Just for anyone wondering. His ram is 2015 express with projectors. Low 9012/ high 9005. 2016 up is both 9005 low and high. Hope that helps.

You know you have access to the bulb by entering thru the hideaway flap in your front wheel well?
Yes I tried but these bulbs were little big and plus the resisters just couldn't get it done

Yes that's what these are , direct replacement bulb as long as you have a projector housing like mine

You need to have 9005 style for your high and low beams
You can get that bottom 10mm without taking grill off. A long extention and swivel.
Takes 2 minutes to take the 4-10mm bolts off for the grill and your headlights will be out of adjustment if you don’t remove the grill

Did you manage to figure out the issue? Also having the headlights turn off after 15 minutes or so.

Yah man it depends who makes them some are both h11 and different fits , but I know my low beams for the company I got were 9012 low beam

Was more of a how to change video , but good point though ! ... they are very bright and cover a decent area more than stock ones , alot of times people flash their lights because they thing I have high beams on ! .. I still have them on with no issues since!

Led in a projector, you’ll be as disappointed as stock. Just go hid with the projector lens on that gen ram, light output will be so much better. With led fogs hid should have been stock from the factory to avoid all this nonsense
I agree with the projector part as far as hid goes for sure ! I found it easier to go led , and I honestly saw at least 5x more light output then stock bulbs no exaggeration so no complains there A

Those are one of the cheapest LED light bulbs...gotta go higher quality
I had tried hikari and few other brands on my other truck ! These held up the best! Never any errors or flickering for almost 2 years , they're cheap but ill stand by the quality
