Proof that not all metal musicians are stuck in their narrow-minded opinions. He is very clear and he was totally objective... He kicks ass even more now that i have seen this
"I can't see why people don't respect each other, and realize that we have different beliefs." I wholeheartedly agree. Finally, someone says something sensible and rational about this topic.
Even though the interview was not so good, King's answers were great.....! Undoubteadly King is a very interesting, great and smart person...!. KING rules...! One of the best metal acts...! Greetings from Ecuador...!
king is great i live here in dallas ..caught many of his shows..absolutely timeless is this man..thanks for the years of some killers sounds ...mosh on u metal heads
At first, this seemed like some silly spectacle, but it took KING and his responses seriously which is something l always liked to see more-of ! Thanks for this memorable clip
King Diamond is just f*cking awesome! I really like his music, but what he was saying about religion is just so great! Yes, most people lacks respect... The good in metal is that there is a mutual respect between fans, even if they don't have the same views all the time. Hope the world could learn something from here.
this guy has to be one of the top leaders in common sense in this world today...standing ovation for this guy plus he just straight has bad ass music...love his falsetto
Wow, so many hits on our old videoclip. Perhaps the uploader should have mentioned that this show is the Danish equivalent to something like "The David Letterman Show" or "The Tonight Show"; it's nowhere near a serious program. The premise of the interview is Halloween. I personally think it's an alright interview nonetheless, as the interviewer actually ask him more or less what he think of Bush. He also let King rage on about religion (KD is Ace here) -so he does ask some good questions IMO.
He makes a good point on religion, but i hope king can be well enough to perform soon in america...kinda bummed that he couldnt here in california for his injury but best wishes to him and the crew.
@JakobsMovieTutorials are those Q&As actually an accurate translation? does every sentence in danish take like ten times as long to say? i was just curious... it seems english is a much faster language...im not being rude or anything just interested, thats all
I had no idea he lived in Dallas...I live in Houston. I know there's probably tons of people who want to see him but that would be wicked if I could go sometime.
As a GI 15 years ago in Germany, I was able to spend a day or two in Denmark and found the people to be extremely warm and gracious! Hail King and hail those DANES! Especially their pretty women, lol.
Oh my! What language were they talking? Please tell me it wasn't German! I've been taking German lessons for some months now but couldn't make almost anything out of what they were saying! That was hard shit
Not the same group we're not all alike (sorry but english is not my 1st way of experession), but there is a common understanding, maybe you can call it a skill, to distinguish between whats serious and obviously stoopid or sarcastic questions.
Lol at trying to stay low key in Dallas, Halloween night. I could see kids coming to his door for candy, while parents whisper to each other, "Do you know who lives in that house?" "No way!" "Could it be the house of amon?" "I'm not goin' in there." Meanwhile, the kids are comin' back with all this free candy. On a serious note, I haven't heard anything lately about his injury / recovery, is he okay, does anyone know? I hope he's feeling better.
I have commented way too much on this video already but something was bothering me. I know what it was. When I see the guy presenting the programme I can only think of the words 'Thunderbirds are go!'
Oh I like cherry danish. NO seriously isn't my cousin an AMAZING drummer...and I like your sense of humor King. You seem like a nice person who cares about kids with cancer, right?
@seth3556r All right, mate, we'll agree to disagree and leave it at that but just remember - what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but what gets uploaded on the internet - doesn't.
Im sorry you can't understand. Thats just a humoristic question. If you knew what Denmark and the Danes are like, you probably wouldn't ask about this question. It's just sarcasm, but i know most Americans have a problem understanding that, without a warning.
Lars have always talked like that, but yes he is saying many Uhms in his sentences. My dad was on a long bus trip and met Lars before he wen't to america, that's why I know it.
@000MidnightSun since when was this video about "Languages"? you need to LOOK a little deeper, Americans study many different Languages. theres NO specific one that we grew up on. Most Europeans grew up learning English. i myself study about 9 of them. i clicked on this to see a KD interview Not discuss languages. it always Amazes me how many european bands sing in English & not their Native Language. bash them too not just US.

He had three or four albums maybe five or six that rank in the top Ten metal albums of all time
+stevemtc1 Greattttttttttttttt..........!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for such a good information..!
king is great i live here in dallas ..caught many of his shows..absolutely timeless is this man..thanks for the years of some killers sounds ...mosh on u metal heads
I agree with everyone else, thank you for posting. And yes, love or hate his music, King is an incredibly thoughtful dude and comes off quite well.
At first, this seemed like some silly spectacle, but it took KING and his responses seriously which is something l always liked to see more-of ! Thanks for this memorable clip
I love this man!
great!!!
thank you for posting this video :)

is this a new interview? Weird seeing him with no mustache
thank you, nice to know someone thinks clearly
I didn't recognize him at all throughout the entire video, until the end where he grimaced. Very cool interview.
this guy has to be one of the top leaders in common sense in this world today...standing ovation for this guy
plus he just straight has bad ass music...love his falsetto
King is alot smarter and cooler than i ever gave him credit for. Kudos Diamond
Clean shaven! Didn't recognize him at first. I wonder if that was recorded in his home. I always knew King Diamond would have an impressive library.
I agree with you 100 percent..... And he is really humble.
Woaw, I must say that I didn't expect those wise words from him, but you gotta love him.
Wow, so many hits on our old videoclip.

King Diamond Rules!!! I live in Texas, too. He is so awesome. I love him!!!!!!!
a low flying bird swooped down and tried to take his hat, I don't blame the King for being wary of them.
Este hombre se esta convirtiendo en mi ídolo!
Almost 50 years old in this clip give me the brand of Retinol he uses, goddamn
He makes a good point on religion, but i hope king can be well enough to perform soon in america...kinda bummed that he couldnt here in california for his injury but best wishes to him and the crew.

The questions themselves and the live audience sorta gives it away.
king is awesome I have most of his works King diamond and mercyfull fate. I am a christian and still I live king.
fra i miei artisti preferiti!!! ho tutta la discografia!! unico, piu' che raro.....
It seems from this interview that king diamond has great wisdom no matter what faith he has.
Way to go, King!!
That's the same thing I was thinking...still incredibly young looking, yet wise.
I had no idea he lived in Dallas...I live in Houston. I know there's probably tons of people who want to see him but that would be wicked if I could go sometime.
I agree - he seems like a cool guy.
Hvad hedder dette demonstrator ? Jeg ved nok, man kan se ham på Debatten...
That's 15 years ago. Now it's completely different.
wow how intelligent he converses.
you gotta love the king
As a GI 15 years ago in Germany, I was able to spend a day or two in Denmark and found the people to be extremely warm and gracious! Hail King and hail those DANES! Especially their pretty women, lol.
Well, he do say "Go'aften", but he say it with an accent I think, so that may be why it's difficult to hear.
is it just me or does the dude look amazing for... 49 years old in this video??
I think they did that back in 1984 when "Into The Coven" first appeared on the filthy fifteen.
man, impressive and profound statements from King Diamond. Hard to contradict his argument that killing in the name of one's beliefs makes no sense
it is really king? he changed in us? i watched some interviews with him before and he sounded some different yeah it is danish
Haha nice, I didn't know he lived in the same state and city as me!
Oh my! What language were they talking?
Please tell me it wasn't German!
I've been taking German lessons for some months now but couldn't make almost anything out of what they were saying! That was hard shit
Danish.
King has maintained his notoriety and moral integrity from the get go man !!!!
BTW do you hear spirits when he talks?? I do............
is he from denmark
King rocks ever...doesn't matter if you share his beliefs, he's a nice guy and their music is fucking amazing (personally speaking btw)
"You can easily have fun with some evil."
Friggin' true. \m/
I don't know how you got this clip.. but I made this clip and my friend put subtitles on.. Who Are You?..
You're wrong.
why?
That interviewer must be the Danish equivalent of Graham Norton or something...
There can be only one King!!!!
5:36 onwards are the most intelligent things ever said. If they we're true, the world would be more of a peaceful place.
I saw that cover. he did good. Curse of the pharaohs 2
YEA KING YOU ROCK
I swear to God this man wears more makeup then I do, I didn't think it possible. What language is this and why does he live in Texas?
I'm in love
He says Go'aften, but it's spelled Godaften :)
it amazes me how europeans know multiple languages yet america doesn't stress anything outside of english
He said "Godaften Dallas" meaning "Good evening Dallas" :)
King without a beard looks like Jack Nicholson in Easy Rider.
This interview was done during the time of the 'Bird Flu' outbreak, so it was a hot topic at that time.
King Diamond is a genious, ALL HAIL THE KING! \,,/
interesting......had no idea that King Diamond was Danish.
king of kings. period.

Are*
my English isn't good :(
@shaytan1313
Not everything he says is subtitled :) That's probably the reason :p
Holy shit does anyone else think he looks like Abbath from Immortal.....hail king diamond
I have commented way too much on this video already but something was bothering me. I know what it was. When I see the guy presenting the programme I can only think of the words 'Thunderbirds are go!'
er king diamond dansk!?
i agree on his religious views. by the way im from denmark too :P
King Diamond rocks!
Holy shit, King Diamond without makeup!?
Oh I like cherry danish. NO seriously isn't my cousin an AMAZING drummer...and I like your sense of humor King. You seem like a nice person who cares about kids with cancer, right?
Hail to the king
thats king diamond ? wow, i never sent him without the make up on.
Hey, who knew David Spade was a Danish talk show host.
He looks young for his age. Probably this reflects a healthy regime of exercise, fresh fruit and vegetables and Virgins' blood.
❤️
It's Danish.
But the host talkes so weird Danish.
Not everybody in Denmark talkes like that
He still looks like a young guy
I'm glad he can still speak danish and english well. Lars Ulrich has an odd accent.
what a big head the introducer!
Haha! I totally thought it was Spade!
@WarGoblins I don't think he was raging on religions as much as he was raging on the people that choose to be ignorant about other people's beliefs.
You're wrong brhumgorst. It's called Godaften in Danish.
king is god...and so funny...love and respetc
His voice sounds normal at first, but then his Danish starts to sound like backward devil messages, so he's got that going for him.
@seth3556r
All right, mate, we'll agree to disagree and leave it at that but just remember - what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but what gets uploaded on the internet - doesn't.
Funny. I was sure most of them did sound quite Danish.
Im sorry you can't understand. Thats just a humoristic question. If you knew what Denmark and the Danes are like, you probably wouldn't ask about this question. It's just sarcasm, but i know most Americans have a problem understanding that, without a warning.
Ohh seriously?
true that..
Lars have always talked like that, but yes he is saying many Uhms in his sentences. My dad was on a long bus trip and met Lars before he wen't to america, that's why I know it.
Cool Dude!
QUÉE??
LOL
Those are my subs.
KING DIAMOND IS THE LAW!
