      What gets me is the blatant double standard. For example, people look at heavy metal music with dark themes as taboo like it's so bad to listen to. Yet when it comes to people watching MOVIES with dark themes, people don't say a word. Why is one looked upon as bad and the other isn't? So dumb.

    If you look well, then you may notice he says that there's no reason to feel sympathy for people he's never *seen* before. If he'd go to a hospital and see sick children (or adults) then he'll see them and because he's a human being, he *will* feel sympathy. He'll feel sympathy because he's a fellow human being, not because it is written in some 'holy' book - or because it is a sacred law.

    Interesting discussion. As far as I'm concerned, I don't agree with a lot of King Diamond's views but his albums, videos and shows are just harmless entertainment. I think that it's up to people to draw the line as to what is good and what is bad and take complete responsibility for their own actions and live by common sense. There are also important and personal issues that need to be delt with as well.

    About human sacrifices on the bible. In ancient cultures, human sacrifices were so usual to worship gods like Baal and so on, but the real meaning about Abraham & Isaac story is Yahve dislike sacrifices of flesh and blood. As you can see through the story, Yahve sends his angel to stop Abraham as he rises his knife to sacrifice his only son. It´s just a way to explain that God doesn´t want such a kind of sacrifices as pagans used to do.

    This whole conversation is basically the King telling the ppl questioning him,"I don't harm anyone or anything," and them saying,"But you're a Satanist," as if that is just cause to believe that someone is "evil"....If such Christians would actually seek to learn more about other religions as well as their own,then they would not have these fears.

    When King says he "loves those near and dear" it means those close to is who he LOVES. How could you expect him to LOVE all of the fans?
    You may "love" your best friend, but do you really "love" EVERYONE you know? What about those you DO NOT know? Don't try to place something like that on him.
    He CARES for his fans, and is APPRECIATIVE of their support. He cannot "love" each and every one of them.

    • @Nightbreed82
      @Nightbreed82 6 лет назад

      The Mercyful Fate albums were Satanic, back when he practiced LeVeyan Satanism and dabbled in the occult. The King Diamond albums are just horror stories in my eyes, but since some people consider any and all horror as Satanic, I suppose you can make the argument that they are Satanic in nature as well. But King Diamond himself is no longer a Satanist, just an Atheist. He no longer believes in any form of religion due to the fact that none of them can be proven. At any rate, I think they are overreacting in this video, and they are using the song out of context....one from the Conspiracy album isn't exactly the best to try and prove he's a Satanist, which he probably still was at the time. If they really wanted to use something Satanic of his, they should have picked a Mercyful Fate song lol.

    • @michellelambert8729
      @michellelambert8729 6 лет назад

      Paul Leach King does carry over some of the concepts from Mercyful Fate into King Diamond. For instance "they" are demons. But King Diamond is more concept albums made up of horror/ghost stories put to music....damn fine music, too! Whereas Mercyful Fate is more satanic. The background scenes in Sleepless Nights are from City of the Dead/Horror Hotel and Black Sunday. I have been listening to these two bands since 1988, they're amongst my favorite metal bands of all time.

    As a person who considers himself a Christian (but not bound by it's religion(s) ) I really like King A lot. I don't call myself a Satanist, but I agree that each person is responsible for his/her own acts. I find the religion of "satanism" an iffy kind of belief to adhere to, but I would say the same about Christianity . I think western religion as a whole has harmed many a person psyches. I would rather side with Jesus because I believe in him, not necessarily what "Christians" say I have to.

    Been listening to King Diamond since his beginnings with Mercyful Fate...I'm Catholic and his lyrics don't possess me to inflict harm on anyone. That's the thing about people and their misunderstanding of Metal music and their fans...We are probably the most easy going people you'd ever meet and would help you much faster than a so called "Christian" would. If you're a sociopath anything will trigger you to harm people....I mean look at Son of Sam he said his dog or a dog spoke to him to kill people....Most if not close to all of the worst depraved homocidal manics in history were never influenced by metal music to inflict harm and death. People are ignorant to the genre of music and just think if you sing about satan then you're a santanist or into santanism.....that's bullshit!

    I dont know anything about satanism or christianity, but I follow alot of what King Diamond says and by no means did I get this ideology by listening to his music

    He did not say that. The tale says the angel of death did that, which was just smoke coming out of water with no oxygen anyway. Watch Exodus Decoded on that.
