Wow, the wood panelling on the wall looks really great! And the banquette seating is such a great idea - super awesome Zach was able to make it all himself. The little curtains also look great.

The dinette looks awesome - you both did an excellent job! Slowly but surely you’re making that house a home and as you said starting to put down roots! Little Finn is a sweet boy - bet he was tired after that beach adventure! When you have an intelligent breed they almost train themselves! I look forward to seeing Scotland in Autumn! I bet it’s beautiful!
Thank you so much! It’s coming together ❤️ We can’t wait for our first Scotland autumn either. There’s so much on the schedule, but all good of course!
Lovely video, life is full on with kids and puppies! When our jack Russell was a puppy she chewed through the computer wire, chewed wallpaper off the wall, chewed the flooring in the kitchen and the legs of my beautiful pine dining table.., so some puppies can be such hard work! Zac is very talented at DIY😊
Hi Annie and Zack. Your kitchen is looking great. Love the colours. Your bench seating is a good idea for storage. Panelling never goes wrong. Your puppy is so sweet. Such a good natures wee soul. I am glad you are settling here and you are finding your way. Live watching your videos. A breath of fresh air. ❤
Great that you's are now able to take the wee pup out walks, you's are surrounded by a lot of wonderful countryside in the perfect place for that. Crossing my fingers that you all gonna find your tribe soon enough. I love thrifting too. Sometimes, one finds such unexpected treasures. This round mirror is gorgeous. And the built-in seating area with the panelling may have been a grand take-on, but it looks marvellous. Zach, you did an absolutely amazing job there. I like the coloring. And the curtain, Annie picked and sewed, as well as the creative idea of brassing up the curtain rod gives just the perfect finishing touch. Love your picture wall. I have been looking for a photograph of a highland cow to hang in my entry way, but i couldn't decide on one yet. It seems i have loved those cows forever. A farmer in my hometown used to have them. Hi. Definitely visit Yorkshire Dales, so beautiful. If in Yorkshire with your children then York is a great location as it has something for everyone. Great quaint shopping, stunning cathedral, many museums including Railway museum and Jorvik ctre. Lots to do and places to visit. Enjoy Bolton Abbey along the river Wharfe where kids can paddle around and great picnic locations. Leeds city great for shopping and superb selection of different restaurants with cuisine from around the world. Grassington is another beautiful location. Just too much to get down! I live in West Yorkshire in a village just 20 mins by car to the dales. You will love Yorkshire, I guarantee!! Hope you make it. Visit Spŕing to autumn to get the most out of your trip. Not to forget the coastal resorts of Whitby, Filey beaches and the quaint seaside village at Robin Hoods Bay. Hope this helps. Xx Janice@SimpleScottishLiving
Dunbar Christmas lights are fantastic when the time comes and a trip to the sweetie bank sweet shop next time should be on the list. Fab place to live!
Aww I missed you guys last week but I can see you were busy with 3 kids, a puppy and frogs lol. Finn is so cute he is going to be the best dog ever, thank goodness his tummy troubles are over. The kitchen is lovely, I thought matching the cushions with the curtain might be a nice look. The Braemar Games are just up the road from me and I have never been but I hear car parking is a nightmare, just a heads up! But I do hope you enjoy the games you visit, it will be fun for sure, have a great week!
Thanks for the insight! We’ve heard that although that one is one of the best, we should plan ahead to get designated seating and the full experience. Next year! Thank you for watching ❤️ I’d love that fabric on the cushions, but I don’t think it would hold up to daily use.
Awesome job on the kitchen banquet and wainscoting Zack! It looks great! And Annie, love your curtains! I love your color choices as well! Fin is adorable and as I keep saying, Scotland looks so pretty! Someday I’ll get to visit there.
🏴Sunny Dunny!- I stayed there briefly and loved it! We rented an old Victorian Coast Guard cottage with a walled garden- a lovely stay and searching for beach glass at low tide was great fun. Thank you for your videos- I love the land of my Carlyle ancestors and have visited twice, which is t enough. Your videos help fill that yearning. A Gram from MO❤️
Great to see you both back! Wow, the banquette seating is fantastic! Great job Zach! I think it brightens up that corner, and the extra storage it has given you guys. Well done on the painting Annie! Love those curtains, what a great idea. I need to visit that thrift store when I'm over, I'm also looking for a round mirror. Finn is still as cute as a button. Loved the video, have a great week! Sandra xx
Hi Annie & Zach 🤗❤ I have been watching your videos since your first one. I love seeing your whole family enjoying your move. We really live in a small world. Zach used to work in Gilroy at the CHP station, right? That's my hometown! My husband and I will be in Scotland this next week on Monday. You both mentioned the Highland games. We will be going to the one in Pitlochry on the 14th. If that's the one you guys are also talking about, maybe we will bump into each other 😊 You guys did a great job on the kitchen seating. I'm looking forward to seeing more projects. Thanks for sharing your lives with all of us on RUclips ❤
Yes, Gilroy! It’s such a small world:) So happy to have you joining along! What made you pick the Pitlochry games? Are you still living in Gilroy or have you moved away? Love meeting and connecting with others, especially when we share something in common ❤️ Hope you have a fantastic trip!
@SimpleScottishLiving The pitlochry games were the last one of the season that I found during the time we were in Scotland, Sept 9-30. We will be visiting the whole country, including Orkney . We are so excited about this adventure. Yes, we are still living in gilroy over near the west side of town. My hubby will retire in 2 yrs from S.C.C.S.O. then we shall decide where to move. Definitely out of state. 👍 Well, take care, and we'll look forward to future videos. 😊
Oh nice! I think we might consider the Pitlochry games, so if we make it, be on the lookout for us and definitely say hi! Would love to hear the places you’re considering for retirement.
You really are putting together a beautiful home! I completely get Zach's excitement for his new laser level- I was just the same when I bought my own drill for the first time after branching out on my own in my 50's! Any excuse to make a hole or tighten a screw! Good luck in getting all your new routines up and running as autumn hits.
Oh Annie you and I seem to be on the same wave length, I love browsing in a charity shop etc. it’s great what can be found and stops something going to a landfill and a charity benefits. Just last week, I bought myself a lovely winter jacket in a charity shop, for the princely sum of £6, it’s lovely if I say so myself.
That bench thing looks so good, will have to do that myself one day. How do you like our Garden Centres? Not just plants like in most US Centres. Be careful about transporting wood like that in your car, police will give you a big fine and you could lose your licence for unsafe loading. That happened to a dear friend of mine a few years ago, banned from driving for 8 months. Your home looks so cosy. Perfect little dog there, he will feel your soul with love, I know it.
Sorry if this is on the wrong thread. You recently mentioned the high price of your train tickets to London. (You did quietly mention that tickets can be booked in advance & that railcards are available.) I've just checked on Trainline. A ticket Edinburgh to London-Return- booked now for January (with Network Railcard) could cost £118.80.
Hiya yous two, nice to have you back. The banquette looks funky. Nice DIY! In your future vlogs are you planning a trip to Harry Potter Studios? Might be nice to make a train trip as well. However, you'll need a sitter for wee Finnigan. I know, as with a Kitty Kat, we can't travel more than 6 hours a day and no overnights. Bummer! Looking forward to your next vlog. Cheers!
Thank you! We’d love to make the trip and had thought maybe for the boys’ bday? We’ll see! Luckily, the grandparents are fond of Finn and happy to help out when needed :)
@SimpleScottishLiving I went in gor some bedding plants in the spring and came out with a tree, scented candles and a framed print as well. Plus the lattes and cream cakes we consumed of course
12:40 How strange! I have the exact same musical jewellery box - my mum got it as a 21st birthday present in 1975 and gave it to me when she got a new one about 15 years ago! I've never seen it anywhere else before now!
The remaining garden space for another project? Maybe a barked play area that can be converted into vegetable or garden area after the kids grow up.? Ps if you use your phones to record these clips, the picture quality is very good!!......And another fine video
Hey Zach & Annie great to see you are really settling in well. Your house is lovely, just a thought Annie if you ever get to the time when Zach is short of projects to do then can you hire him out!! 😀 I have lots of DIY jobs to do, it’s a bit of a trek to my small town down south though! 😮😂
@@SimpleScottishLiving Oh that’s lovely if he could, I always think that when you can physically see the results of all your hard work it is the best feeling. If I was younger and could start again I would love to be a bricklayer, fat chance though I am almost 4ft 11 inches, weigh about 93lb , somehow I don’t think I would have lasted long! 😬 But I am a qualified florist, aromatherapist and cake decorator, wedding cakes, anniversary cakes, baby shower cakes, fun cakes and all sorts of sugar craft, so at least I got to see physical results for my hard work!

Another great video Zach has made a beautiful job of the kitchen diner Finn is so cute hope your still enjoying you life in Scotland ❤
Thank you! Yes, still loving Scotland life completely ❤️🏴
Another lovely video thank you 😊 your kitchen looks amazing you are both very talented . Little Finn is so cute 🥰
Thanks so much 😊
Awesome job on the kitchen banquet and wainscoting Zack! It looks great! And Annie, love your curtains! I love your color choices as well! Fin is adorable and as I keep saying, Scotland looks so pretty! Someday I’ll get to visit there.
Thanks so much! We’re so pleased with the progress. I hope you get the chance to visit one day. It’s worth it ❤️🏴
Curtains and bench seat looking good the panelling really looks perfect suits the room well done 💙💙🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍🌻🌻🌻🌻🐶🐶
Thanks so much! 😊
Yeah, I was looking for you guys on here, but I figured you had school stuff and other things to deal with so happy you’re back❤
Happy to be back!
WOW !! Great work Zac !!!
Thanks!!
I love Annie's snigger/chortle/giggle/guffaw - a lovely ever-present in every episode !
Awe, thank you! 😊
Me too. It makes me smile every time ❤
Your kitchen looks very smart. Precious little dog ❤
@@lesleybunce9848 Thank you! Slowly but surely it’s all coming together!
Sandra xx
Thanks, Sandra! Yes, that store is full of great stuff. Always something there :)
You have such a lovely home and family ❤

Hi Andrew! Thanks for joining us again ❤️
I really enjoy your videos and watching you all thrive in your new life. Zach's DIY skills are amazing!
He learns it all through trial and error! He’s pretty impressive 😉
Well done it turned lovely and cozy.🎉
Thank you! 😊
Omgoodness, I have to say. I do enjoy watching your vlogs!! Such a sweet family!!
Thank you 😊❤️
Agree with the others, great job with the kitchen 👍
Thank you! It’s coming together!
Thank you! So looking forward to Autumn and all that comes with it.
Lovely video ❤
Thank you 🤗
Fingers crossed universe give you all the happiness.
Thank you! Same to you!
We find that the paint in the UK is so much more thick and full coverage. My husband has always complained about the paint here in the States.
You’re 100% right! The first time we opened a can of paint here, we were shocked!
£6 is a steal! Well done! I’m still on the hunt for some more framed art so will share what we come across :)
Oh, wow! Thanks for the heads up!
The Dunbar Garden Centre was incredible. Haven’t been to many others, but we hope they’re all like that!
@@SimpleScottishLiving Most are like that just on a smaller scale, at least to the ones I have been to in my area, Dorset.
Loving this, missed you last week x
Thank you! We have some fun weeks up ahead with the Highland Games and a trip up north. Can’t wait to share!
Sorry you got rain when you visited sunny dunny, give me a shout next time your coming and I'll book the weather 😁
Thanks! We’d appreciate that 😉🙌
Laser level is a massive man tool! The female will never understand the imporatance of!!! LOL! Love this vlog...
🤣🤣
Me and my wife visited Dunbar a few weeks ago wen we were on holiday from Colorado she took some sand and shells home from the beach there
It’s a wonderful place to visit!

I’m originally from England and we were travelling down to Whitby from Edinburgh
The kitchen looks great. I had been watching your video and it vanished 🙀So wasn't sure if I was to rewatch? So I just scrolled to the kitchen part. x
Thank you and sorry about that! There was a privacy issue that couldn’t quite be fixed using RUclips’s tools, so we had to start from scratch!
Now, that price is more like it! The key definitely seems to be booking in advance. Still pricey in my eyes but more doable.
Loved this :)
All the best 💐
Thank you! ❤️
Your dining nook looks great! If any of your kids are interested in judo or football I can recommend Destination Judo and Musselburgh Youngstars x
Ooh good to know! Definitely interested!
Puppy is a cutie the house is lovely 🇦🇺🇦🇺💙💙👍👍🌻🌻🌻🌻
Thank you!
There is a garden centre like that in Gourock near me and it makes for a great day out. Also a great place to spend more money than you had planned to
Isn’t that the truth! Always go in looking for one thing and come out with more 😅
@SimpleScottishLiving I went in gor some bedding plants in the spring and came out with a tree, scented candles and a framed print as well. Plus the lattes and cream cakes we consumed of course
12:40 How strange! I have the exact same musical jewellery box - my mum got it as a 21st birthday present in 1975 and gave it to me when she got a new one about 15 years ago! I've never seen it anywhere else before now!
Small world!
Love your videos! xx
Thank you so much!!
The remaining garden space for another project? Maybe a barked play area that can be converted into vegetable or garden area after the kids grow up.? Ps if you use your phones to record these clips, the picture quality is very good!!......And another fine video
Thank you! Yes, the garden project will be a big one - likely next spring/summer as we need to save up again!
The Dulux pronunciation makes me LOL
🤣 It’s just payback for all the years. Ash was in America.
Annie has the most infectious laugh. Another wholesome family video folks. Good wishes to all your next projects
Thank you! ❤️ It’s all coming together, and we hope to tackle the storage on the landing next 👍
Maybe one day! He’s always had a mini dream of returning to school for carpentry. 😊

Oh that’s lovely if he could, I always think that when you can physically see the results of all your hard work it is the best feeling.
If I was younger and could start again I would love to be a bricklayer, fat chance though I am almost 4ft 11 inches, weigh about 93lb , somehow I don’t think I would have lasted long! 😬
But I am a qualified florist, aromatherapist and cake decorator, wedding cakes, anniversary cakes, baby shower cakes, fun cakes and all sorts of sugar craft, so at least I got to see physical results for my hard work!
That seems like the perfect fit! I would love that. The ability to use your creativity and actually make something is ideal!
Do they do a lot with dog rescues near you? Hopefully ❤. Here in California, and Hawaii, most of the shelters have so many dogs and cats looking to be adopted ❤
They do! Unfortunately, most won’t rehome to families with toddlers though.
