I put tens (.10 hi e to ?) on mine. It had a bone saddle. But I installed a fully compensated bone saddle, and lowered the action some. Day one I adjusted the truss rod to flatten the frett board. That also lowered the action some. Lighter strings and compensated saddle really help the sound. Good luck!

Some say the sound of your guitar is not only from the body of the guitar, so you must pick your strings carefully.
