The spookiest thing about these guys is that they’re not even the only common enemy type that is stronger than many bosses.
Something that interests me a lot is the lore of shadow keep, the specimens and what the place used to be before messmer settled in it, would that be possible someday?
Ah, October. Seems like a perfect time for the Man-Flies to get an episode.
NGL, they're on the list, but with a twist
These guys have me so many heart attacks just casually swooping down on me
In the Lands Between, it is always spooky season!
I just saw a very good Curseblade cosplay on Reddit! What a lovely coincidence!
Broooo the sound you use for Halloween intros has been stuck in my head forever and I couldn’t figure out where I heard it, FINALLY
I think it's interesting that this is another aspect of horn sent culture that has to deal with dancing in the description
Once while I was on my way to the Abyssal Woods, I got jumped by one of them, and they had the Golden Eyes. However, for a solid ten seconds, I thought that I was gonna have to throw hands with a *Frenzied Curseblade.* So I did what any sane person would do and ran as fast as Torrent can. Of course, it wasn’t Frenzied, but even thinking about it gives me shudders.
I wonder what the original Japanese text says about them. For example, in Japanese text, the jar saints aren’t “saints”. Criminals are stuffed into jars along with a shaman in hopes the jars turn everyone inside into a good person. I.e “Ello cos! Have you seen Alexander?” The english text had everyone thinking jar saints were “saintly beings”
This HAS to be the sign that the Lamenter video is coming soon
You're not wrong...
That boss still confuses tbh
I love these enemies. I hate fighting them but they have one of the coolest designs.
Their bad posture could be because they were shunned and maybe tortured? It could also bei that it's part of their dance or way of fighting. I don't have any reasonable explanations but I assume they weren't always like this When compared to other Hornsent.
Or... Curseblades are to the Hornsent what Omen were to the golden order. But in reverse. Being born without horns or the spiritual connection to their culture.
I was thinking, you know those things a lot of the male Albunaric's were locked into, like in Volcano Manor, and Castle Sol, possibly these guy's jailors, did the same when they were punished, maybe that's why they are so hunched over!
@@marystone860 That's a good theory.
Spookiest part is getting ambushed, followed by the mauling. After that, it is frustration that motivates me to kill them. :p
It’s time again for spooky lore. Love how you theme your videos
I wish that this enemy was actually a boss. Oh! I really hope that we get a lore video on Romina, saint of the bud
3:08 iight man get me outta there 😂😂
Membah when these was Godwyns? Oops! All Godwyns!
Just bought the DLC October 1st. Its gonna be a scary season for sure STARTING NOW I'm gonna go log in
I didn't run into them until the shadow keep. Scary MFs
I think it was the shadow keep...
There's one on the stairs up to the Dancing Lion boss fight in Belurat Settlement.
A deep dive on all the moon related lore.
Cool video as usual.
Tbh think the jars should be properly revisited. The new lore gave some answers but also more questions. Especially (for me anyway) why they are so common outside the land of shadows and broken around churches of Marika. The fact the pattern on top is different i think indicates something important (especially when considered alongside everything else) but not sure what.
My theory as to why the curseblades have a low posture could be symbolic. In the sense that because some never achieved deity status, they can never truly stand up. Or something like that.
On a side note I HATE fighting these enemies! I swear I die to them more than most bosses!
The scariest thing in Elden Ring; these shits and their total invulnerability to being staggered
It would be cool to do the common shadows in the land of shadows. There is so many of them
I wish the curse blades were more numerous in my playthrough where even riding horseback was too scary if I didn't look
I thought Meera’s description meant to imply that since the ascetics were scourge for invaders, they were imprisoned so that they didn’t come in the way of invaders to cause headaches. This implication fits perfectly with Marika’s “betrayal” against Hornsents. 🤔 idk I feel crazy after watching this explanation 😂😭
Think omen but small
I like those enemies, and their lore... that beaing said i don,t understand why majority of tge fanbase count them as scary, my first encounter was in tower settelment in the way to the dancing lion, and i *was* suprised but my greatsword made a short work of it, like sawting a fly that suprised you
People have deep seeded fears of spindely limbs and bodies bending unnaturally
@@square-table-gaming probably been on the internet for far to long for these things to attract and not repel me
Anyone else notice none of the Hornsent have actual horns? They all wear masks with horns on them but not a single one has Horns coming off their bodies. Look again before you say I am wrong.
The tutelary deities are not wearing masks. Those that stuck to their ascetIc practices did grow horns of their own.
Use there items then you will know why so many of them survive.
Their attack combos are just way too long
👍
