TIF had 2 features that i dont see in FIFA or PES. and that is the 2 legs tackle, that gave you a direct red card and the fake dive. this game was realistic when it game to rules and features

Holy, I didnt expect to see 3D crowds on a soccer/football game during this era, even more so on the PS2. I guess it WAS possible. I know MLB the show manage to do it, but the stadiums were usually smaller with less players, the same goes to hockey games.

I was born in 2007 but had a PS2 til 2017. I played FIFA 08 from 2011-2017. But I remember, even then the PS2 games were cheap, and my sister walked into my room and gave me this game she got for me when her and my mum were in Manchester. I'm reviving my PS2 now and I still have this game infront of me next to all my other games. Played this when FIFA 08 stopped working and it was so fun

I wish, they would develope a new version for PS4/PS5. So EA would have a real competitor for FIFA. PES is not taken seriously. For real... the menu is ridiculous already.

In my opinion this series was better than Fifa and Pes. It had a lot of potential. Sadly EA gets the full Fifa rights shortly after this. Every other football game died after that.
MrGneissl actually pes destroyed this game...this is football made their biggest mistake appearing on market AFTER pes ! fifa ,meaning thee worst football game,was out then one month before pes,otherwise it would be GONE ,like this game,wich was actually better than fifa
well, the series already existed on PS1, but yeah, having to face PES in the market would be an uphill struggle. the game isn't really that bad (in fact, i think the PS1 versions were better), it just... doesn't have that "je ne sais quoi" that PES and FIFA have (and i'm not necessarily talking about publicity). still i liked this game, if only because of the plethora of teams that came with it. and it's ironic, you know, that a decade later Peter Drury would end up working on the game that killed the last game he was in.
PES 5 scked bad, TIF 2005 beats it to a pulp, not to mention hundreds of unlicensed players and teams where i could barely recognize some players, typical for PES, shooting and passing also scked bad. In TIF 2005 you can choose over 920 teams, so far i dont know a single PES game that had such a huge number of teams
@@SubidubidubiDu1 You are right, but TIF has tons of unlicensed teams, like Man Utd.. Bayern.. But having that amount of teams was very cool. They even had national teams like san marino.. Vanuatu. With players with 10 overall rating ahaha.
@@joaooliveira8482 it's still better than PES, in PES (especially new ones, new PES games are the worst even the national teams are unlicensed) Man U is called Man Red or Trad Bricks, Liverpool Merseyside Red and so on. In newer PES games if you choose Serbia, instead of names like Tadic, Milinkovic Savic, Jovic, Mitrovic i am seeing completely false names. They could've at least twisted the letters making them look like Todic, Milankovic Sivic, Javoc, Mitravic, but no, they havent done even that. I am seeing names which never existed in those teams, like Santic, Furundzija, Vucetic, who are they? I've noticed such false names in many other national teams like Ukraine, Slovakia, Jamaica, Mexico... completely unknown players. Konami really messed up this time and FIFA is following them closely. Sorry, i'd rather have a game where all the player names are licensed. Bayern and Man U are the only exceptions i think, but still if you are a football fan you know who those players are. And, more teams means more fun, tons of teams to explore not to mention the numerous game mods which TIF 2005 had. I like the fan/coach reaction when you score a goal, it's a fun little thing which adds sweetness to the gameplay. I've read that it's even possible to cause clash among fans if you choose teams which are rivals and if the score between them is 5-0, i dont know if that is true, would be cool if it can be done I still like playing PES and FIFA, but only the older games, because they were more fun, player names were ok, even if they were unlicensed you could still know who was who and also because of nostalgy

Something about the player animations made this game way funnier than it should’ve been. Especially the diving & flying tackles😂
I remember you could play in the Jungles of Africa and hear elephants in the background haha , this game was Bliss on a disc.
