Pettersson has way too much potential and has proven to be a 100 point scorer. He's struggling now, but he's still young. Your deal is horrible. I wouldn't trade Pettersson for a top 4 d-man + solid pker + a lotto protected 1st round pick.
Not only are you giving EP for a bag of pucks, but you want the Nucks to give out a lotto protected 1st rounder? What kind of deal is this? Necas would've come back to Vancouver if EP was traded to the Canes and even that isn't enough.
