My husband and I visited Positano four weeks ago; we arrived from Venice via rail and then opted for a private car service to drive us from Naples train station to our hotel in Positano (120 Euro). I would highly recommend Positano to anyone looking to catch some R&R surrounded by natural beauty but if a slow pace, and having little to do, isn't your cup of tea...I wouldn't recommend spending more than four days here. Positano is very quiet and can become slightly mundane. :) PS Great food!
Yes, "Under the Tuscan Sun" is a great film. I've seen that movie many times. Yes, do visit Positano. I've visited there. It's very beautiful there. It's a surreal experience to be there. Italy is a lovely country. Sorrento, Naples, Pompeii, Amalfi, Positano, Rome, Vatican City, Milan, Siena, Florence. They're all lovely. The regions of Italy I haven't visited yet & would like to someday are Venice & Pisa. And Sicily. Maybe Genoa, Bologna, & Turin, too. I didn't get to stop at Capri, either.

@mailtostu At the very beginning of the video there is a quick peek at the small beach to the left of the shot. There is a pedestrian trail that goes from the large beach to the small beach. Have fun. Be sure to eat at Three Sisters (on the big beach)
