    Holy smokes. It's about time. You dream and hope for something for so long that when it happens, it doesn't seem real. Part of me doesn't want to get excited until the first train finishes its first trip, but I can't help but be happy. Once people start riding this, I really think it'll make a difference in getting new projects up and running. Hopefully it'll mean eventually getting real high speed here on the Northeast Corridor, the developing Southeast Corridor, and maybe out to Chicago one day. Fingers crossed.

    They need to develop a service between LAUPT and the Brightline station in Rancho Cucamonga. Maybe a special train that leaves downtown in time to connect with eastbound high speed trains. Better yet would be to electrify the Metrolink line.

    • @edwinsinclair9853
      @edwinsinclair9853 9 месяцев назад +7

      Brightline will connect with Metrolink trains from La Union Station at Rancho Cucamonga. More than likely, Metrolink will revise schedules and add trains to the San Bernardino line. Metrolink also serves East Los Angeles, El Monte, Baldwin Park, Covina, Pomona, Claremont, Montclair, Upland, Fontana, Rialto, and of course. San Bernardino. San Bernardino is also served by the new Redlands line.

    • @MatecaCorp

  • @danielbliss1988
    @danielbliss1988 9 месяцев назад

    You don't often see high speed rail built on highway rights of way like this; often roads were built along existing railroads but very rarely have the new generation of high-speed lines "reciprocated". LGV-Nord in France mostly does go on or next to highway right of way, though off to one side of the A1 autoroute as the median of that is narrow. But this almost all median route will be good for making the point to drivers.

    I thought this was higher speed rail, not nigh speed? I thought BLW was not going to fall under the international standard of high speed just like BL doesn't? Will it exceed 155mph?

    • @RoamingRailfan

      They are aiming for 200mph so definitely high speed rail

    When I heard Spain as an example more than once I realized that we have the HSR so "normalized" that almost nobody knows that Spain has the lowest construction costs and the second longest network in the world, it's funny how people's perspective is different depending on what they have.
    Best wishes!! Hope all goes smooth.🤞

      Brightline projects to complete the line by 2028, and CAHSR will not open its first segment before 2030. Even if everything goes right for CAHSR, Brightline West would have to be 2 years late (a 50% increase in construction time) for CAHSR to start running trains first.

      The huge advantage Brightline has is all the land has been acquired this will speed things up. Also since most of the land is rented the cost will be so much cheaper the other rail project. Brightline had to build a couple of stations they didn’t want but by doing that they solved a lot of political issues.

  • @Ergzay
    @Ergzay 9 месяцев назад +7

    The one problem with this project is the insistence of the use of union workers. Even if they somehow finagle them to get them to work quickly during construction (unions generally don't) they'll eventually act as a huge drag on the project in operations.
