Ive been a long time fan of the faces, and although I always wondered Why Ronnie didn't sing more because he had such a sweet voice, I never really looked into him more. Well My world fell apart this week, and I went onto RUclips for the first time in a while. This was the first song that came up for some reason. I've listened to it at least 30 times in the last few days, and downloaded absolutely everything I can find of his. I've fallen in love with his music and person hard and fast.
so so wonderful! Sorry but Mumford and Sons, the Avetts etc..could never pull it off like Ronnie Lane! What a one off ! So so genuine he was & so so ahead of his time! I miss ya Plonk! Marriott, Plonk & Rory Gallagher - to me 3 of the most genuine rock MUSICIANS ever! We will never see their caliber again ... To me these guys were never about the image - and always about the music & the spirit that moved them....miss 'em more & more .. sigh
Along with Peter Green my favourites too! You can smell a fraud a mile off, these artists were, are, and will always be, the real deal. Absolutely awesome!
I have been going through a bit of a rough patch today, a little sad. But, watching this video and watching Ronnie Lane and his band have so much genuine pleasure and joy in performing his music made me feel so much better, relieved that those feelings are are still so easy to come by when you need it. This might have been the first time I immediately broke out into tears upon hearing music (or at least one of the few). Ronnie Lane was truly a special person and it's such a tragedy that he isn't with us anymore. I wish he was around so I could thank him!
Wow, you just described exactly why I keep coming back to his music. Strange how it has the same effect on two complete strangers - I think it's amazing.
Ronnie was so talented the man was a musical genius the backbone of the small faces and the faces think he made a big mistake leaving the faces financially but he was on a different direction from the others it was not the money he only cared about the music always looks so happy when performing RIP.Ronnie 🎼🎼🎶🎶🎵🎵🎸🎸🎸🎸
Only saw him live, unfortunately, once , at the A.R.M.S. concert at the Cow Palace. He came out pale as death and sang "Good Night, Irene",one of the most affecting performances to cap off a magical night and not a dry eye in the house. All the great ones gave it up for Ronnie, someone offered me 50 bucks to use my binoculars when Page, Beck, and Clapton were on stage together (A Little Help from my Friends with Joe Cocker/Layla) I refused.
For those who pass by Slim Chance still play a few gigs back in the UK. They seem to go down very well in the clubs. Classic group. Check them out if there are in town.
Live music. You can hear this not 100% perfect. Ronnie's voice was never perfect: he couldn't get to some notes but that did not matter. His music was magical. Talented man. In his band was Gallagher and Lyle: two great Scottish musicians who shared the music.
Many thanks for uploading this. I only ever had the Ooh La La version as a teenager, and so all these years later to hear this 'Dixie Toot' version is fantastic! More power to you and Ronnie! And what a band, eh? They just compliment him superbly - it all fits.
This clip is from the original documentary RONIE LANE & THE SLiM CHANCE DVD, I think recorded live at on the '74 at the BBC Studios. Amazing testimones and a great film!
I never like to refer to myself as a fan. I think that draws a line between the artist and the one that admires the person who is performing. However, in this case, I believe that Ronnie Lane was such an excellent singer and guitar player. Let me for the first time announce myself as a Ronnie Lane fan. Rest in peace Ronnie 💔💔
just a beautiful and such an overlooked song from a true spirit. ronnie wrote some incredible songs & was such a bedrock of all things that where small and faces....only few the last years as he finally got the recognition his talents deserve! keep the faith marriott will always be my hero but ronnie your standing next to him.
100% he got ripped of as the small faces did. It's strange because to write songs like he did he must off seen the people ripping him off. I was at the Marriott memorial and the lane memorial concerts. I didn't hear anyone say thanks for the money. The Small Faces revivals in the Ruskin Arms were fantastic so there. Why has no body told Rod Stewart that you don't go out with a bird taller than yourself. I've got a feeling she might have a few quid. What is the point of having money if you don't spend it big nose. Not all jocks are the same thank god. I would of loved to go out with Jockey Wilson on an all expenses cruise around the the Med for a couple off weeks. I hope I wouldn't get so drunk that I would pull a bird 2 foot taller than me but what the hell at least she won't borrow your shoes. On the other side off the coin it must be great to have 50 million in the bank coz you ripped your mates off. I'm going to bed.
God love the man who has found and posted all the Ronnie footage.I followed this man for nearly all his career after discovery. Then on to all the derivertives of all the bands he was with .Rod Stewart has a lot to be thankful for regarding this man ..😍
Thanku RUclips for giving us bands to remember and appreciate.

Ronnie’s an angel, a naughty but good one same as Steve Marriott, they really are the magic midgets
There are several albums by Slim Chance - well worth investigating for Ronnie’s voice and playing.
I really LOVE Ronnie it's a pity that most people of my age don't know real music. What a great man and performer!
Ronnie is as authentic as they come. Hard to find a guy more loved than Ronnie - and for good reason.
Timeless. Love the guy. Look forward to seeing him in the great reunion❤
Ronnie and Slim Chance were fantastic. I can't say it strongly enough! Love 'em. ❤❤❤
The soul of Ronnie Lane...the heart and soul of the Small Faces and The Faces....his music lives on
Ronnie had a lovely voice which. matched his smile, lovely man to talk to and his music was great!!

Proud to say I saw all 3 multiple times. 💚🌵
I salute you! My three favourite artists absolutely love them all x
Along with Peter Green my favourites too! You can smell a fraud a mile off, these artists were, are, and will always be, the real deal. Absolutely awesome!
OMG, I miss this man and his music. Sometimes I get sad listening to him knowing he's not here, but so thankful we have the music.💜
Fu€K"N Amen... I was 8 when he rock'd my world... followed ever since! ~> dig the Pete Townsend collaboration ~> celebration!@@@Amen!!!
Couldn't agree more
Gallagher and Lyle in house
All ronnie wanted was to make good music, which he achieved.
God, I'd love to have a pint with that man. We still miss you Ronnie ♥️
He never got the recognition he deserved or his contribution the the Faces fully appreciated.
beautiful. soulful, the true heart of both Small Faces and The Faces
The grooviest troubadour of all time : Ron Lane

Thanks for singing Ronnie, we're still listening.
20 years gone. I'm sure many people have listened to this over the past two years. Leave a calling card.
Such a huge, unique talent and what a great band! There'll never be another like them.
Wow, you just described exactly why I keep coming back to his music. Strange how it has the same effect on two complete strangers - I think it's amazing.
i think im in love with ronnie lol! but the thing is when i listen to his music it grounds me and makes me feel all safe and at home makes me smile :)
I just cannot stop coming back to Ronnie. I never will.
this is what happens when a group of talented musicians get together under the leadership of a great
music original
Ronnie was so talented the man was a musical genius the backbone of the small faces and the faces think he made a big mistake leaving the faces financially but he was on a different direction from the others it was not the money he only cared about the music always looks so happy when performing RIP.Ronnie 🎼🎼🎶🎶🎵🎵🎸🎸🎸🎸
MS is a cruel life sentence…makes one make hard choices.
Ronnie didn’t follow the flock, he made his own path what a bloody genius, soo sad he’s gone 😢Rest in Peace Plonk ❤
I can't bring myself to listen to anything other than Ronnie for months. Just incredible !
I know exactly what you mean.

We were blessed to live in this era it will never leave us THANK YOU
i get great pleasure to sit with a glass of wine and watch these old clips of ronnie. these old shows were great. thanks for uploading scotty.
Something about this man's music it just lifts your mood...
melody, presence and lyrics, presented by a prolific songwriter
18 years gone today. Gone but not forgotten. Miss you Ronnie. My rock n roll hero.
Extraordinary. The heart and soul of the Faces, of course, but this is magical in its own right.
For those who pass by Slim Chance still play a few gigs back in the UK. They seem to go down very well in the clubs. Classic group. Check them out if there are in town.
I know, I know I've heard this one before. Keep returning to a great track. That's Ronnie.
I listen to this everyday , better than any antidepressant the sun rises with Ronnie Lane love you plonk
I woke up this morning with flags and banners in my head I have no idea why I haven’t heard that song in years so now I had to play it again
Ronnie Lane was such a mega talented legend. God bless yer Ronnie. RIP. ROCKIN N A ROLLIN. !!
Ps- Ronnie's vocals remind me of George Harrison a fair bit. Anyone else feel the same ??
A seriously under rated musician. Sadly missed...
Happy 70th, Ronnie! You made all our lives brighter!
Thank you kindly
For thinking of me
If I'm not smiling

Everyone raving about 'Donovan' being the new 'Dylan'............they missed this fella didn't they.....?
Absolutely
Fabulous, feeling and passion and honesty and musical truth. Long Live the Spiritual Boy!
Love this. I can hear his musical influence even today, especially in the use of the mandolin.
Done this one before. What a song! Gave me goosebumps.
What a wonderful man
My first time to hear him and I like him already
Been listening to this man and his associates for a long time,,,,,,,,,,,never gets old.
Many thanks for uploading this. I only ever had the Ooh La La version as a teenager, and so all these years later to hear this 'Dixie Toot' version is fantastic! More power to you and Ronnie! And what a band, eh? They just compliment him superbly - it all fits.
