Now that the MAX's are down yet again. And the older generation 737's are reaching there end. I think it's time for a switch over to the Airbus A220-300 variant. Especially, for airlines like Southwest who rely so heavily on the 737 for there fleet.
I completely agree. The 737 is a 50+ year old airframe. Boeing and airlines that operate it should move on from it at some point, especially with the past incidents.

Boeing as long as they can. They won’t switch to Airbus unless forced.
