I love the story of Spruce tree given to England by Norway and the royal family as thanks for the hospitality England in 1945 paid for the Norwegian family when the Nazi's invaded Norway. The tradition that the Spruce tree is given from Norway and lighted Dec. 1st every year with the members of the royal family in Trafalgar Square. What a lovely story and the first Christmas ball put on the tree was the Spruce tree in honor of the 1945 story. Oh how wonderful it is having Arne and Carlos sharing such wonderful stories while I knit, such lovely company. Thank you boys I feel so grateful.
Oh my guess is the VW Beetle with the Spruce tree on top with the special Christmas balls and a red bow, that is to say the ball with the wooden skates, the tree , and the other special balls on it. How lovely the embroidered picture of Arne's grandmother's Beetle which she gave to Arne as his first car. Such a special car.
Thanks for the 5am giggles. Arne is NOT a hoarder! He is a COLLECTOR. Arne is clean and organized, and he is absolutely correct that it is nice to have yarn to knit with. LOL. ❤❤
Ha! Your discussions are so sweet and so kind! It's always the case that someone who collects is with someone who doesn't!! But you two make it work!!🥰
I also loved Arnes reason for buying, he only collects nice things! He is definitely right about finding some small item needed to repair something!!! Keep it up you two, I laughed so much today...
Another wonderful Advent episode! Thank you!💝 I see an embroidery representing the Folkloric traditional true fairytale of the Two Princes, the broken down chariot and the gas station Christmas Tree!!! And yes, Arne is a most serious collector!!
I'm with Arne you can never have too much yarn. It's his inspiration and he's an artist. Let him have his muse. You can do so many things with yarn and leftover yarn. The embroidery on the table is....wait for it.....the Beetle with the Christmas tree!
I just love Arne's passion for beautiful things. I also understand Carlos' sighs, when it comes to having the things in the house. The Beetle becomes more and more visible with the Christmas tree on top.
Hello Master and Carlos! You just gave me a memory. Every year I used to buy my mother an Amaryllis for Christmas. She loved them. I do think the flower is an Amaryllis. I need one for my tree! That picture is a beetle bug with a Christmas tree on top.........I think! Thanks for popping by! 🎄❤️🕯❤️🎄
“Put that on your tree and smoke it.” 😂 you guys are funny even when you are a bit tired. I imagine all the hard work you put into this and am sooo grateful! Catching up on my day off, have to say the picture is Arne and Carlos driving a tree home in the beetle!
It's amazing what can happen when there's wine involved when crafting..lol I see your Beetle under there, two handsome Princes and a tree ! I'm glad the Santa's have stopped trying to escape and your house has stabilized...see you tomorrow
I think Arne and I are kindred spirits!!! I keep things that might be useful in the future. My family tells me all the time I'm a hoarder as well. But my "hoarding " has come in handy many many times, and I bet for Arne as well. This is a result of being raised by parents that have lived through the depression era. I'm with you Arne! The motif on the tray is a picture of the beetle with a Christmas tree on top.
Arne is a curator of fine things! Just think, without collectors, there wouldn't be museums filled with treasures! 😊❤️😘 I think I can see one of the beautiful Christmas balls hanging on the tree that's on top of your VW.
So pleased the gingerbread house is still here, I have every faith that it will last the course! The Beetle car with the tree on top is more revealed, it looks a wonderful tapestry! I come from a long family of hoarders Arne, when we emptied my mother's house, we discovered masses of yarn in case of World War III! So i do sympathise for having heard through my younger days "youll never know when youll need it". Take care of yourselves and I'm looking forward to tomorrow. XXX
OMG I am laughing so hard at your discussion regarding hoarding because I am exactly like you Arne. My husband Mike sounds exactly like you Carlos.. my arguments to Mike are exactly yours Arne. Also, I know where everything is until Mike moves it.
My mother (who was a WW2 baby) never throws ANYTHING away. When she wants to get rid of something, she gives it to me (and I put it in the rubbish bin). I’ve inherited a great deal of guilt about being wasteful - I love my pretty (and sentimental) things, but am being eaten alive by them! What a pretty Christmas ball. Hey - I’ve also been watching the podcasts of the US places you visited (Crazy About Ewe and Fleece and Harmony) and have become their customer, subscribed to newsletters , etc. So your good influence is evident! Thanks for the introductions. I see the Two Princes’ VW Beetle emerging under the pile of tiny Christmas sweaters. Picturing you two enjoying some peace and quiet as you recuperate from your hectic travel schedule.
"Put that in your hat and wear it!!" I love the way you two banter back and forth. I'd love to be a little mouse in your house to hear what you say when the camera shuts off! And, I love the beetle on the tray! I'm guessing it has a Christmas tree on top!
The reflection in the mirror is so festive! I love how the tree keeps getting better with a new ball every day! The tale of the two Norwegian Princes. A Volkswagen beetle with decorated Christmas tree with decorated Christmas balls
So nice to see Freya cuddled up with you on the couch. She is so cute!! Looking forward to seeing the entire embroidery motif of your Beetle with the Christmas tree on top!! ☺️
Your knitting tip today was information I could have used yesterday! How is this tip not out there everywhere. My mom knitted for 70+ yrs. I don't think she kew this. Thank you so much. THE BEETLE WITH THE CHRISTMAS TREE AND THE STORY OF THE 2 PRINCES.🎄
Loved when Arnie said “ I only collect nice things”. A true collector😀 There’s a vw bug and I’ll bet there is a Christmas tree on top! We shall see. Have a great week!
I too am a “hoarder” but I agree with Arne that I only save nice things. And let’s face it most of it is knitting related. Recently, I have been making a great effort to organize all my yarn and label all bins as to what is in them. Love all the knitting tips. The design on the tray is the VW car carrying a Christmas tree. Thanks for sharing the fun of being creative.
I'm a "collector" too! 2012 the two princes found a tree and put it on the roof but then the 1968 VW Beetle broke down. They rode home in style on the back of a tow truck, Arnie commemorated the princes’ journey with a lovely embroidery of the VW and the decorated tree that is hidden under the sweaters.
I completely agree with you Arne! about the richness of having small specialty screws, when you need them! But it's also a knife-edge balancing act from being a collector to being a hoarder.
I love seeing the picture emerging every day! I think it's from the story of when the two princes took the beetle to get a christmas tree, but then the trusty beetle broke down
The mystery tray has a needle point of Arne’s volkswagon bug with a Christmas tree on it. It represents the story of your break down when bringing home the perfect tree for the holidays. You also broke down not to long ago and rode on the back of the tow truck! Long live the Bug!
I love how Carlos has not only become a thrift shopper, but he even tries to convince Arne that he’s better at it than “the Master”! 😂 Your Advent countdown episodes are such fun little snippets to brighten our day. Thank you. The picture is the VW Beetle with a Christmas tree on top, decorated with lovely Christmas balls.
I enjoy the thrift store stories. I always think it’s fun to stop in a thrift store when traveling. The trick is to figure out how to get all of the wonderful things home. Lol. thanks for sharing your adventures. The motif is becoming much clearer and my guess is still the beetle with the Christmas tree on top. ❤😊
Everyday I watched these episodes, waiting to see the gingerbread house split at the edges and all the candy spilling out. I am amazed at how long it held together. The item under the jumpers is an embroidered picture of your VW Beetle with a Christmas tree on the roof for the story of the two princes.
From Arne’s love of collecting “nice things” comes ideas for beautiful Christmas balls. The tray shows Arne and Carlos, riding in the Beetle, as they transport their Christmas tree home.
More fun! Definitely an amaryllis. The tray is the beetle and Xmas tree story. Loving seeing something from you each day as we wait for the festivities.
Catching up on all the days...I finished the advent sweaters last week, and my grandkids are loving finding the treasures inside every day. Can't wait to start the Christmas balls, but that is a project for next year I think. Enjoying the series a lot. Keep up the great work! The Beetle is looking more and more like itself, with additional decorations of the Christmas balls. Tis the season for a Christmas Beetle!!
The comments that Anna, Eric, and PJ have picked are so lovely. I am seeing more of the Beetle, and a little more of the tree now. Alas, no princes in the needlepoint. But perhaps not needed, as we see Arne and Carlos on the couch.
You guys are so funny! Arne you can never have enough stuff! I’m a fabric collector along with yarn! Carlos … there is always new yarn to buy, maybe new colors, new type of yarn … right Arne?😉. It’s the beetle with the tree on top!! See you tomorrow!!
I can relate to the collection of things. You just never know when you might need something 😀 I really enjoyed your thrift store video. Thanks for all of the laughs. The tray looks great with a beetle on it.
Great flower ball. Volkswagen with a tree. I’m a collector too. My hammer collection is impressive…a hammer for so many different uses. My stash of yarn always inspires. I knit everyday….using lots of yarn!
Loving the slow reveal of your wonderfully embroidered VW Beetle with the Christmas tree on top. 🎄 I tend to save a lot of things thinking I'll find a use for them someday. When I am finally moved to throw something away I invariably have a brilliant idea about a use for the tossed object within 48 hours!
vintage VW Beatle from 1969 with Christmas tree on top is the embroidery under the sweaters. Arne, I am also a collector. I keep all of my collections in my craft room. I love having things to find things I need.
Just getting a chance to watch this episode. Beautiful flower on the knitted Christmas ball. I ❤ the 2 colorful pillows on the couch. Such richness in the design. Thanks for another wonderful video
I forgot about the naughty fallen angel. 😂. I laughed so hard over that. She deserves a spot on the tree for sure. Revealing the beetle with the tree on top!
Ha Ha Ha! I love that Arne only collects nice things. My dear Hubby, like Carlos, actually accused me of being "one spool of thread away from being a hoarder"! Ha ha ha! As a quilt shop owner, there is No Such thing as Too Much Nice Things!! I am not a minimalist, by Any Stretch of the Imagination... I am a Maximalist! Ha ha ha! Keep collecting All the Nice Things, Arne. They are Beautiful! My guess on the contest is the story about the Two Handsome Princes, a Beetle Car and a Christmas Tree adventure! Merry Christmas to you both!
Yes Arne I agree you are not a hoarder but a collector of nice things! I would love to go thrift shopping with you and yes we always need more yarn because you just never know when you might need it! I'm seeing the beetle with the tree appearing on top I think.
Hoarders are obviously very clever and sensible people!!! 🙃
I love the story of Spruce tree given to England by Norway and the royal family as thanks for the hospitality England in 1945 paid for the Norwegian family when the Nazi's invaded Norway. Ah, the fine line between collecting and hoarding. Keep going Arne. I'm with you.
We love you the way you are Arne!🥰 You both have a beautiful soul.
Ha! Your discussions are so sweet and so kind! It's always the case that someone who collects is with someone who doesn't!! But you two make it work!!🥰
I love how Freya joined and started napping in Carlos' lap 🤗❤
Your gingerbread house is still standing, it must be the strongest house in the world, good job
I like to surround myself with beauty no matter what it may be. It makes my brain happy and well.
I also loved Arnes reason for buying, he only collects nice things! He is definitely right about finding some small item needed to repair something!!! Keep it up you two, I laughed so much today...
Poor Arne being teased..made me 😃. Freya looks comfy. 🥰❤️🤣👍
When Carlos teased Arne about being a hoarder, my first thought was “he’s a collector”, and then that was confirmed! “I only collect nice things” ❤
The elephant in the room, absolutely hilarious 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Laughed out loud at Carlos’ comment, “I learned from the master”.
Aren't we all collectors, of something, or many things! The VW Beetle is on the tray with a Christmas tree on top!

Hoarders Pay Day - that moment when you find a unique use for some little thing that you have saved. Love that!
Another wonderful Advent episode! Thank you!💝 I see an embroidery representing the Folkloric traditional true fairytale of the Two Princes, the broken down chariot and the gas station Christmas Tree!!! And yes, Arne is a most serious collector!!

You brought a Christmas tree home on top of your Beetle two times in the last couple of years.

Love that the beetle has a long Christmas tradition of hauling your trees!
I want a VW Beetle in every color 😊 one like yours with a Xmas tree on top like in the tray 👍❤

Arne, isn’t a hoarder, he just has “goblin aesthetic”-packing his cave full of treasures! The motif is a VW beetle with a tree on the roof.
Can’t wait to see the beetle and the Christmas tree, and also can’t wait to see Carlos liberate those Santas sleeping in the gingerbread house!

Arne is the best kind of Hoarder! And the motif is your Volkswagon with a Christmas tree.

Lovely Christmas ball today! The tray has a picture of the beetle car with the Christmas tree on top!
I don't see a problem with Arne's "hoarding" since he keeps things so beautifully, as in his scrapbooks!
Hi Freya! You look so relaxed. We’re seeing more of the tray day by day. I still think it’s a beetle with a Christmas tree on top.
Poor Arne!!! Arne, I keep or collect things too! Just in case I need it later on. I TOTALLY agree with you!LOL!🤣🤣🤣

It’s definitely the VW beetle and I think there is a Christmas tree on top. (Or perhaps a bow?). Thank you for another great show!
There is nothing wrong with collecting "nice" things. I am excited to see more and more of the Beetle!
