ABANDONED Power of Sale House Frozen in the 1970's

- In 2016 this house was sold to a developer for 4.2 million dollars by a couple that lived in the home since it was built in the 1970’s. The same day it was sold to another developer for 6.8 million dollars. This developer was charged for fraudulently obtaining investments in a mortgage investment scheme. The developer went bankrupt and this property sat abandoned for years. The property was finally sold “Power of Sale” for 9 million dollars. This house will be demolished for a new subdivision.

About me:
I have been exploring abandoned places since I was a child and now I would like to film the explores and share the videos with you.
My father took me to my first abandoned house when I was 7 years old. I remember going into the house and a old farmer came in and told us "we better watch out as the floors are all rotten and unsafe". Ever since that day I was hooked on exploring abandoned places.
If you have a location you would like to share with me or want me to explore for you please send me an email at abandonedurbexcanada@hotmail.com and I will give you full credit for the share in the description and during the video if you choose.

That jigsaw puzzle of the foxes really made me sad. I can see the former owners putting it together with their kids. They might not even be living anymore but yet the puzzle is still on the wall where they glued it.
That's is a very old house do you know who owns the house
@@vivianholland6575 No,
It really aggravates me that homes like this get demolished so some developer can put up a bunch of cookie cutter bullshit houses or whatever they're putting their. Its a shame. The house immediately gave me the warm and home feeling as you first walked in.
That's a great place, the property itself looks very spacious and private with lots of greenery. Sickening to hear They're going to ruin that whole area with a development of People squished together.
not to mention all the work that went to building and maintaining it going all down the drain. And doubt the new house will have same quality material due to natural material scarcity of today
I totally agree. This old retro house looks ready to be moved into and yet its getting demolished??? I just don't get it.
A the fact we don't need more house's made right now. They sat we have 5 to 6 times the empty homes in the US then we have homeless people. So it is a waste to build more homes right now. The US is one of the most wasteful countries there is.
It does look like an older family owned it. They kept it in good shape. Most likely a nice home in its time as it looks solid built. Nice property. Thanks, Brent, for taking us there.
That is a beautiful old home! I love all that old wood. It is in pretty good shape.
9 million?! I almost spit out my coffee hearing that 😮😂
Probably because of the large land
When I heard the price I wondered if it was in Toronto or Vancouver
I feel worse for all of the trees that will probably be torn down with that house. Thank you for the video!!🌲🌲🌲
Brent, I want to say the McDonald's character was Mayor McCheese, but don't quote me on it. 🙂
I'm 99.94% certain you are correct. Hamburgler wore a mask.
I'd love the mirror!!
That was my first thought too.
@@cee128d and black and white stripes.
@@l.l.2463 You got that right.
Looks like a much loved home for many decades. It’s in a lovely secluded spot. Shame it will get demolished.
Is very sad to see empty home …
I love that retro 70's vibe, reminds me of when I was a kid. I'd live there and not change a thing (other than the ancient fuse box LOL). Nice one, Brent! Thanks for sharing it before it's gone.
Such a beautiful house. It's so sad to see such a nice place go to waste.
Nice looking for the 70s. Shame gonna tear it down.
Thanks for doing this, something about abandoned houses is calming and relaxing
The light switches were updated to decora switches and the bathroom sink in the little bathroom was update. That fuse panel was definitely old. My parent's home in N.C. was built in 1961 and It had a circuit breaker panel in it. The home looked larger from the outside. Thanks for sharing, Brent.👍👍
Abandoned Urbex at his finest!! Thanks BRENT!😊👍
Thank you Lenora 😊
Another great explore. Shame it’s being demolished it wouldn’t take much for a family to move in. It’s a nice house. Was wondering when you were going to post ❤️
Hello . I watched this in Australia 🇦🇺. I actually like these older homes. This one did have an odd layout but still in great condition. I’m glad it hasn’t been smashed up. Love the surroundings, would’ve been very peaceful living there. Thanks for sharing with us ❤🇦🇺
It’s refreshing to see a house in good condition! It was dated but nice! ☺️😊
The owners obviously cared about their property as everything seems well cared for and they left it very clean. That would have been amazing with all the land and no neighbours, I’m very envious. Stay safe out there!
Almost ready to live in except the copper thieves hit the basement.
nice explore Brent, definetly owned by older folks with all the handrails in the bathroom and on the staircase leading into the basement, probably a nice family house at one time
Interesting house, oddly laid out, loved that huge kitchen, especially loved the surrounding property, great find Bret thanks for sharing 💯👍🏼
Hi Brent
Greetings from Long Island, New York. This was a nice house. Well cared for and
pretty clean. I found the basement creepy. The kitchen was pretty spacious.
That one bathroom was strange with that small sink. Looks like a well built
house. The deck outside was big. It’s too bad that they might demolish it.
What a waste of a good house. Thank you Brent for sharing this cute house
with us. I love your videos and I wish you would post more often. Stay safe
and well.👍🆒🏠
always glad to go on explores with you. thanks for bringing us along!
Beauty of a place. Seems like the owners must have kept up the home, nothing looks worn out. Lots of mature growth on the land around this place. I agree that the owners may have been elderly. Was still interesting to explore no matter the condition. Thank you for taking us along Brent!!💯💥❣
Hi Brent: Great Vid. Looks like the Cooper Boys finally got there. Ethan Minnie(RUclipsr) did a video of this place about 7 Months ago and seemed to have most of the wiring still. Graham
A good house in decent preservation, although it shows that it was not supported in perfect order for a long time, and a small repair of space, and you can live again ..
Amazingly, decay hasn't taken this house already with it being abandoned for so long without regular maintenance. I agree with you that it was boring being all emptied like that but still, there were little things like the puzzle pictures on the walls, the stained glass looking things. I agree with other posters the Mcdonalds' character is Mayor McCheese. Thanks for sharing it with us Brent.
Thank you Buddy. Between you, Ethan, Noha and Brandon we get different perspective cause you each have you own style. Thanks again 🤗Take care , stay safe. Donnie👋
This time there wasn’t any snow on the ground, that’s a change!
Beautiful property.
We didnt upgrade our fuse box to a breaker till 2020. Im always suprised that this is how to date a house lol🧐. People sometimes dont want to bother updating for whatever reason and dont have the money. I think thats also why we didnt get the fuse box updated in so long. Home was the first built om the block in 1979. We got all the electrical & outlits modernized and uptodate too a few years ago.
Nice !! Watching now 😊
Awesome thanks!
Good seeing you again Brent !
Thanks Bill
Nice house well kept though.. thx for sharing 😊
Beautiful home! The fireplace in the basement was neat.
Thanks for the video Brent, stay 😎
Thanks Barbara
I’ve never seen a bathroom sink like that before, kinda neat
Good to see your face again. You can tell it’s a solid house too bad it now sits empty. Thanks for the entertainment.
Real nice one here Brent. Sad it's been left to rot. Wow!Hi Brent, good to see you.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
It was exciting for me, then I saw the big chest freezer 😬Yikes!!
Good to see you back! Got my Ghost Towns t-shirt in the mail a couple weeks ago!! Favourite RUclips channel
Been very busy but I'm back! Thanks souch for getting a shirt! Send me a pic of it on abandonedurbexcanada@hotmail.com
Oh my goodness, great explore! I can't believe they are going to demolish this beautiful home and the property looks so nice! Love the brick house and the 70s look! The old clothes reel pulley was cool to see too! Not boring at all, a very awesome video for sure! Thank you Brent! 👍💯😊
Look’s like it’s in good shape! Very beautiful property. Cool video bro! ❤️👍🤘
What a nice home. Great exploration
I was wondering when we were gonna get another video from you...nice to see you Brent!!!
Been very busy, but I’m back 👍🏻
Beautiful yard at that place…thx for the tour!!
we really enjoyed this video.
Those narrow wash basins are very popular here in the U.K. for second bathrooms and small downstairs loos.
Hi Brent Its been a while - we've missed you ! Gill 🇬🇧
Thanks!
No refrigerators like that in the 70's!
Hey, good to see you back again! Not overly exciting video but still love watching❣️😁
Wow - 9 million dollars. Why so much? The land?
Great find
Awesome vidéo I really love the rest 👍👍❤️❤️😺😺👋👋
I am so happy to see your smiling face again!!!! Fantastic video. I love that house, I bet it was gorgeous in its prime.
Hey thanks so much! 😁
Actually really liked this vid ❤
Great bones of houses built back then. Im surprised the fridge and copper has not been taken out. Very clean .no vandilusum. Surprised it is going to so much money and tearing it down. Sad
Cool find
THX. GREAT VIDEO!! DOWN STAIRS BIG MAC ON THE MIRROR ,,, HA!!
Brent is exploring!! YAY!!! 😊😊😊
😊
Beautiful property
What a shame it’s being torn down.
Wow, full frame camera and Gimble that’s a lot of fancy equipment you got going… Is it really necessary???
A smart phone is probably all you need. It also comes with a LED light and electronic stabilization.
Just a comment here with a smile: when you asked if you should open the freezer, I said 'no' to my screen but knew you would open it anyway. 😊
Beautiful house, could be saved.
We have fuses in many places in Canada. Im living in an apartment with them now. My old house had them.
McDonald's character is Mayor McCheese.
Cabinets, fridge etc usually go to habitat for humanity stores if in Ontario and in decent shape.
How is that little home worth anywhere near $5 million? Are there many acres of land that raise it to that level? Or is that part of the fraud with the inflated value? Too many questions...someone with the lender must have been in on it.
Land value, they will build 50 homes there worth 1.5 million each
Surprises about the fuse box given that my home is from the 60s and has circuit breakers.
House is looks nice and clean …family has nobody in the family to take over ????
Nice house.
I cant understand why anyone would want to live in a subdivision for me it would be like being in jail .
I have the mirror panels behind the fridge in my garage. I think I got them on freecycle. I wouldn't take the fridge for free. I hate stainless steel. It is so institutional to me. I want a homey kitchen.😅
That could be a lovely 🏠
That was the mayor mCcheese i do beleive sir.
Thanks 😂
Just another family home probably filmed with lots of Christmas celebrations and other memories. Gonev
What? No chair😳😁
What a waste of a beautiful home
That's has about the same design in the kitchen with the drop down ceiling extension for cabinets and about the same size my counter top is shaped, same with other cabinets. My house was built in 1978 from people that didn't know what they were doing or how to read blue prints.
Black flies every where in the country? What is going on with those insects? are they in Canada since the beginning? In Europe they are not so nasty or I do not recall any. Thanks Brent for this beautiful scenery around the dwelling. Yes boring and huge; I wish could see one with the furniture. Cheers!
Nice place!, I'm going to say its a 60s House because of the Fuse Panel, Not sure about Canada but Residential Fuse Panels were phased out here in the US in the 60s
I owned a house once that was built in 1969. It had a fuse panel but I upgraded to breakers
@@AbandonedUrbexCanada I did many Panel upgrades in my almost 40Yrs as an Electrician! "1981-2020" I Retired when Covid hit.
I like the kitchen but I would paint it.
Everytime I open a freezer it reminds me of that damned goat haha
No I think Brent is right on with mchamburgler
The house is still in fairly decent shape. Thanks for sharing Brent. Great to see you back
Leave the house be. It's in great shape. It's almost move in ready. It would be preferential to build around it. Homes aren't built like that any more. The new crap they're building is just thrown up, and barely held together. All they seem to use these days is crappy chip board sheets.
How much land does it sit on? For that price, it should be a lot.
12 acres
Area of 60 townhomes for f ne I reside built 1974
❤
Would move in if it was not too expensive lol
Hardly vandalized..just some graffiti
We thought that decor in the 70s was so cool..pretty ugly now
Even when the basement was all set up with furniture in that house,I wouldn’t have spent time down there
Take care🇨🇦❤️
It is mayor maccheese!
Whitby Ontario canadam
I have got to pull out my bell bottom jeans!
that was not a 9 mill house
Great land and 12 acres he said !!!
Hi Brent why did price go from 4 million to 9 million?
The developer must of had it rezoned and approved for a new subdivision
Mayor Mc Cheese!
not that much wrong with the place, outside of rusty hand rail in the shower, the little bit of Graffiti in the dining room, and the fallen ceiling down in the cellar. shame another piece of the past will be destroyed in the name of the Almighty Dollar! 😡
BTW: it used to be a thing in the 60's and 70's to turn your basement into a Rumpus room.
a place to party, with a bar, maybe a pool table
👍👍
👍🏻
