You keep emphasizing how the build quality is lacking for $100.I've been a flight and race simmer for 20 years and a $100 is not a lot of money when it comes to hardware IMO.The very reason these pedals are made of plastic and stickers is to keep the price affordable for the average Joe simmer.
Cannot find the original release date but I got mine day 1. Guessing over a decade if not more, maybe much more. The toe brake spring breaks eventaully but has NO effect at all on function as it not even needed. Worst thing I see done is people lube the moving parts which attracts dirt like a magnet. As with the X52 that keeps going..going ..going, they are tough. And I am a rough heli and tail dragger pilot and fly often.
If you only knew how much the material used in these plastic garbage costs... Seriously, its all plastic and some other things like PCB, sensors, chips, etc. even if it was all metal, the cost is so low an average person wouldn't believe, they also produce in hundreds of thousands if not millions of units which brings the cost even down.
Neon Black They would cost $5 to $10 each to mass produce these units but it seems we're neglecting the real reason the markup is significant on consumer goods like these pedals. Saitek aren't needing to only recover their cost of manufacture, but they have a business to run as well as people to pay in order to engineer and design these items in the first place. Engineers alone are on anywhere from $60 to $100 per HOUR depending on the experience level and sector, then you need to consider all the admin support roles as well as accountants and sales reps etc. The cost to manufacture is very low, but to run a business and to keep stock holders happy with their financial returns, the markup has to be significant. Besides, for the time and effort it would take to make these for under a hundred dollars - we could have used that time for working billable hours and bought 10 sets of pedals for the same amount of time invested! Have a good one mate.
Most likely is the settings on the Flight Sim program. It took me some time and various Internet searches to figure out the sensitivity and null setting for the brakes on FSX.
I was looking for a video like this to confirm my choice of buying pedals.I have no experience in flight sims, so i was wondering if they had this connected motion like in the sim, where when you push one up, the other goes down. Your video shows that it does, but you didn't really played with them to show how it feels. the information for me was enough, but someone else might wanted a bit more demo action. Great review, I'll get them :) ( I dont care about looks if they are under my feets !) .
I just got a set of these. IMHO, save your money and get something else. I will be selling them and saving for a set of Virpil pedals. These are awful. I had a set of pedals that I got with my old G940 FFB system. They were old and wearing out but they still worked and they were comfortable. Only thing was, since they had a serial type connector, I had to have the G940 joystick plugged in to be able to use the rudder pedals. So I got the Pro Flight pedals to eliminate this issue. Well, in a word, I hate them. They feel weird, the brake pedal part is at a weird angle and they are so uncomfortable for my feet. I have large feet (size 15) and even at their longest, the pedals are way too small and they are so narrow my feet are constantly trying to fall off. Never had that problem with the G940 pedals. On top of the comfort issue, they just fell weird. They aren't smooth and if you turn the tension all the way down, they're still too stiff. As someone who spent most of the last four decades working on airplanes both military and civilian, I can assure you they don't feel realistic at all. I personally am VERY disappointed in these. Fortunately I got them as an open box so I didn't pay full price for them. I am learning the hard way that when it comes to PC controllers, you get what you pay for.
Saitek no longer makes them. Logitech bought the rights about 4 years ago and they are now branded as being Logitech. Both Dell.com and Microsoft.com have them in stock.
Thanx for the Video... can u tell me any option to these pedals? I own the X55 from Saitek, and well, the overall quality isnt the best... every turn i make, it sounds like im destroying the interieur of the stick... so my confidence in saitek is not very high... is there an alternate to them?
I like how the pedal length is adjustable. I've also been considering the CH Products Pro Pedals. I'm guessing the CH Pedals are better in the long term? How long have you had your CH pedals?
My entire setup is CH products. CH Fighterstick and CH Pro Throttle. Can't stress how great there products are. They may look like tech from the 90's....but they got it where it counts. Their reliable, durable, and accurate. That being said....the ONLY product I don't like from CH is their rudder pedals. They are really close together and I don't like the heel cup on the pedals. I never put my entire foot on a rudder pedal unless I'm applying break....and I like to slide my feet on and off the pedals all the time while flying. This is just my opinion. I've tried them before. Coincidentally the ONLY product I like from Saitek is there rudder pedals. Well....only 2 of their rudder pedal products that is. This one, and the "fighter" styled rudder pedals. But they're sold out everywhere. I've been looking for new pedals for awhile. There are afew custom rudder pedal makers out there that spare nothing. If your willing to pay a premium...like the MFG Crosswind.
Dereck Dunn I watched many ch product reviews and all say the same thing "ugly, but rock solid, reliable and still functions like they did on day 1", several were for their joysticks which they have had for 10 years and another was a ch pedals review who said he's had his for 11 years. That truly states the quality of CH products.
You are so on point about that build quality..its too loose and shaky.. With my competition flying, I'm afraid I might brake the freakin' tonka toy! ...come on Saitek, for real, for real?
Did you set up the rudder to be the control via FC3's options? There's a section in the manual that comes with the pedals that covers FC, but then it is for FC2 not 3
The Pedals work fine on FSX but the in LockOn FC3 it's not working so good, I always changing the axis but it's doesn't help at all. (It's my first pedals) do you know how to fix that? Thanks & Great review!
@DD Let's Play Vkb t-rudder pedals. Those things rock. Less than 100 euros more expensive than the saiteks and definitely worth them. Full metal, extreme precision. Only it doesn't have toebrakes. But I don't care for I mainly fly rotary.
Bart Bonkwijk Where did you see them for less than 100 euros? The only place I can find them is here and they are 179 euros. flightsimcontrols.com/store/available/t-rudder-pedals-mkii/
Hi, Does anyone know if these pedals, work with FSX Steam Edition and Windows 10? Also with my LOGITECH Extreme 3D Pro Joystick (this has a twist grip rudder facility - will the pedals cancel this out and the 'button brakes'?). Thanks.
I have had mine since they came out so figure out how long that is. Easily 10-15 years. Blow dirt out of them out on occasion. Don't lube as that attract dirt like a magnet. The other is eventually the toe brake spring will break. Took mine over a guessing a decade or more but even it does not effect function. Push forward, it simply means the pedal will not spring back towards you. But, since you have your foot on it and move it as you would letting off a gas pedal, it works perfectly well.
Hi, I have the CH Pedals and have had them for some years. They do seem to give erratic readings from time to time with is a real pain. Do you experience wthat with the Saitek?
i had one of this it is not nice i heard that CH rudder is better i will try the CH rudder, also i had saitek yoke and now i ve got CH yoke , the CH yoke onwed saitek yoke i can tell you that!
people, for some reason are gouging this pedal's price. i even saw it as high as over 500 euros on ebay. im sure its great, but for that price, no fucking way.
Don't get me wrong these pedals are great, but you need to mention the fact that the brakes do NOT function unless you use a 3rd party program to run the pedals.
I love the Tonka Toy plastic reference. When I was a kid, Tonka Trucks were all steel. Miss those days.
i just ordered them... cant wait to install and try them :) THX for review!
Would have been nice if you could demonstrate how they work in the sim.
Worked fine for me within FSX without having to make any changes.

If only I could pay the equivalent to 100 dollars here...
Do they work for Windows 8 and 10
Most likely is the settings on the Flight Sim program. It took me some time and various Internet searches to figure out the sensitivity and null setting for the brakes on FSX.
Good job. And more important honest.
Can i use this together with saitek x52 pro?

The Saitek website informs that they are sold out. Does it mean that they are not produced anymore?
Saitek no longer makes them. Logitech bought the rights about 4 years ago and they are now branded as being Logitech. Both Dell.com and Microsoft.com have them in stock.
Yes I did that but still it's not working properly, When I press one Pedal it's stay in one direction without go back to the normal position.
Thanx for the Video... can u tell me any option to these pedals? I own the X55 from Saitek, and well, the overall quality isnt the best... every turn i make, it sounds like im destroying the interieur of the stick... so my confidence in saitek is not very high... is there an alternate to them?
I would contact Saitek. Stick should be smooth not grinding etc.
I like how the pedal length is adjustable. I've also been considering the CH Products Pro Pedals. I'm guessing the CH Pedals are better in the long term? How long have you had your CH pedals?

They feel cheap but they lasted almost 5 years and still work! I upgraded to a new set may do a review soon!
I hope you're right because these things feel like they may snap at any moment..lol
Did you set up the rudder to be the control via FC3's options? There's a section in the manual that comes with the pedals that covers FC, but then it is for FC2 not 3
Where Did You Get Them For $100 Dollars. They Go For $200 On Their Website!!!!!

Oh no, not for less than 100 euros. But for less than 100 euros more expensive than the Saitek pro flight.
Can I use these pedals to play Titanfall or any other non flight simulator?
I want these pedals to move my Titan if that is possible
Well it depends.. Does titanfall support in game Axis Commands?
Now why the fuck would you want to do that?
because it would be fun
Michael Calderon It would be shit.
Michael Calderon It would be shit.
Where did you get rudder pedals for under $100? 7:55

That they do!
ish manal its to turn your ruddle you need them if you dont have them its very complicated to fly its really imposable to turn without them
im going to build you a cockpit and you should do a review for it
Can we get an update? How have they held up? How do they feel now in 2016?
I have had mine since they came out so figure out how long that is. Easily 10-15 years. Blow dirt out of them out on occasion. Don't lube as that attract dirt like a magnet. Oh wow, very good to know. Thanks!
Pedals still work! I have upgraded to a different set in last year though.

i had one of this it is not nice i heard that CH rudder is better i will try the CH rudder, also i had saitek yoke and now i ve got CH yoke , the CH yoke onwed saitek yoke i can tell you that!
BadTurbulence i am extremely fond of my MFG Cross
What ars
so all they do is push forward on the toes? That's all you showed.gave it a like though.
people, for some reason are gouging this pedal's price. i even saw it as high as over 500 euros on ebay. im sure its great, but for that price, no fucking way.
Pedals work fine with no third party software for toe brakes. Have no idea what you are referencing.
Don't get me wrong these pedals are great, but you need to mention the fact that the brakes do NOT function unless you use a 3rd party program to run the pedals.
Anybody know if these will work with X plane 11?
They would be good and not just for XP-11 (which already is the most realistic sim on the planet), but also any other sim.
should I choose this or the Cessna one?
+muhammad noval I've seen some complaints about the yoke, but I'd say the pedals are probably good.
Tonka Toys used to made out of metal.
What are the rudder pedals for??
Moving the rudders left and right
Their used for making the plane turn left and right as as shell braking
Took 9 minutes for you to mention rudder control 😄
its from german an it cost 286,60 dollar on ebay
Can these be used with the Thrustmaster T Hotas X ?
+TheChronic1976 Of course
+TheChronic1976 I don't see why you would, you have two independent rudder controls on the X.
he would get way more control with these
Junk. Get the thrustmaster pendulars. It makes all the difference
Can not hear you
Bojangles M lol... turn up the volume...?
