    Great review! The damper's longevity won't be affected by it's setting. It is simply a needle valve inside you lower or lift with the dial knob. You can get the damper refilled with heavier oil at many motorcycle service shops or do it yourself (messy). I agree with you on the anti-slip mat, it is pretty much useless in most cases unless you have no carpeting. It also goes dirty quick. Anyway, fantastic video and very professional on your part! Thanks for sharing! Cheers

    A weaker damper is really good actually, too thick damper fluid can cause stiction each time you try to move it, that’s why I’ve always removed dampers from every device I use because it destroys fine control. I am choosing that over the Honeycomb b/c the throttle matches the Cesna. (wanted a trim wheel) Will probably add a radio and that will do it for me. • @g-locmedia
      @g-locmedia  6 месяцев назад

      You can have your feet up off the floor. The reason you wouldn't have your feet up off the floor during certain parts of the flight like taking off and landing is so that you don't accidentally touch the brakes. More of a safety thing in real life.

    Great Review but I think to call the Thrustmaster Pedals the gold standard is a bit much. Thrustmaster have ingrained this idea that they are the best, Cause they "used" to be and only with one product the Warthog Stick but that was over 20 years ago but Honestly they are falling behind in quality and are way over priced! Compared to Virpil, VKB, MFG and WinWing are just killing it right now. Take these pedals for example I bet they feel better, are just as acurate and they have more adjustability in toe angles damping, spring return and fixed. Thrustmasters have no real adjustment to them no damper (you cen get a mod but it's a mod). and the price is out the park, way to high. Would love it if Thrustmmaster brought their heads out of the clouds and seen just how companies like WinWing, Virpil, MFG and VKB are ahead in price quality and end user adjustment, cause they are pricing themselves out the market with poorly designed kit.

      Thank mate for your kind comments on the review. I actually tried the TPR's again just last night and I do stand by what I said about them being the gold standard however based on price I can no longer recommend them in terms of value. For me these Winwing rudders are so good for the price.

    Thanks for the excellent review.
    I'm in the market for a new rudder pedal, I mainly fly helicopters so the wide base and easily removed spring from Winwing seems really good. One question though, do you think that damper kit is necessary for helicopter-style rudder (without spring and auto center)? I've never used any rudder pedals with damper before so I have no idea how the damper kit will affect the feeling on the rudder. Thanks.

    • @g-locmedia
      @g-locmedia  7 месяцев назад

      Personally I would buy it without it. Not necessary though but honestly it makes such a difference for both planes and choppers. Much more substance behind the pedals. Please anyone else share their thoughts here.

      @@g-locmedia Thank you for the reply. I just pre-ordered the version with the damper kit included. Please correct me if I'm wrong, the damper kit will increase the fraction/resistance of the rudder pedal, is that right? This means should I use the pedal without the spring and the damper, the pedal will be lighter and easier to move, with the damper it will be harder and more fraction depending on the damper's setting.

      Hello, I have a set of TPR’s that I just love. I also added a damper and removed the springs because I also fly mainly helicopters.
      You can adjust the damper to very slight resistance that you would hardly notice, and you may even want more. The damper smooths out the operation and also allows you to rest your feet without the aircraft making any sudden lurches. It also works just fine for fixed wing.
      I think the damper is the way to go😊😊

    If these are the best pedals you have ever tried, you obviously have never tried the Slaw Device Viper RX... No aluminiuim, full stainless steel construction (even ther screws are stainless steel) - same size as the winwing pedals, but double the weight. Not only yaw, but also the brake axis beeing cam loaded and they are so sturdy, you won´t brake them even if you want to. At least not without tools. I doubt that it is even possible to build better pedals at all. Had the TM TPRs before wich are already superb pedals, but the Slaws are a class of their own. Not even comparable. Even while they come at double the pricetag of the WinWing pedals, they are worth every single cent...these are the real gold standard among rudder pedals. You should make a review of those.

      @@g-locmedia I do own version 3 since february (i think the V3 were released in Dec. ´23) and ran the TPR from 2019 until i got the Slaws. A friend bought one of the last V2 leaving the factory and i´ve been regulary using them in his Airbus Simpit. Although i find civilian flight sims too boring, this convinced me to get them as soon as they are available again. It´s not a huge company, but only one single guy in Poland producing them on his own. So he does only produce a very limited amount of units wich makes these pedals very exclusive. I was lucky, they were in stock when i purchased them and they were at my door 4 days later. My buddy had to wait 3 months as his unit still had to be produced when he ordered them.
      I think the V2s production stopped in january 2022. So i had to wait almost 2 years until they were available again as V3 edition. And i almost missed that there has been a new version released, so i´m very happy that i was able to get them. I would´ve been freaking out if i would´ve had to wait another two years...
      Again, you should realy review them as long as they are available. Also because there is no proper review of those on YT, you´d be the first to properly review them.. Only a few unboxing and presentation videos. Most people don´t even know these pedals and a proper review on YT would propably help some people to learn about them. I´m pretty sure at least a few people will be very thankful that you draw them to those pedals instead of letting them buy something else just because they don´t know that there is something way better out there...
