Such a great video ... no, it's just amazing! Thank you for your work. I started my journey in X2. When X3: Reunion came out, it felt like a continuation of the series, a similar world, similar ships. For me, X3 has the best atmosphere and gameplay. I tried to play X4, spent many hours - great game with no exceptions, but I don’t know, there are so many differences that pop up in my head every time I play X4 :(
i prefer what Egosoft is doing, have actual games that we can play, instead of something in Alpha for more than 10 years. Well done Egosoft. This is the way.
You can only play SP and it gets old pretty quick, tbh. As for perpetual alphas, that might be true for Star Citizen, but it's definitely not true for Elite Dangerous.
The Terran ships and stations do a great job of capturing the "More technologically advanced species" look while still seeming a distinctly human design - I like!
Starfield ended up being a snoozefest that should've been released 10 years ago to be of any relevance, but at least it reignited the spark for my want of sci-fi, thus I finally decided to play X4. My first and only playthrough is about to clock 240 hours and I'm not bored yet, compared to Starfail which I uninstalled after 40 hours after falling asleep on my desk from how boring, uninspiring, shallow and just downright childish that game was.
This game has turned into wow for me. Expansion comes out, start a new game, play the shit out of it, quit. And start the cycle over again when a new expansion gets announced.
Now that is interesting as a previous interview has Bern not wanting to have a too extreme change in order to preserve compatibility of save files. I don't think it matters as much as Egosoft may believe it to. Certainly having the previous version available at the same time as a save breaking overhaul would be great to allow a wider scope of their vision but also their tech expertise as they work and learn more.
@@sidrat2009 I've been used to early game when every patch would break the game in some way and I'd be forced to start over. Now i just tend to start fresh every expansion anyway because it's more fun. And tbh, it's also because I'll come back to an old save and think "What the hell was i doing?"
@@EminemLovesGrapes I've even done that in Elite Dangerous a fairly befriended character that I just couldn't manage to get my head around. I've also done it in Eve Online - after several years of ghost training too - just biomassed. That was pre-skill injectors of course - but it's all good. Restarting characters doesn't mean you forget the lessons or experience with the gameplay plus you now have the opportunity to add in the extra game loops too. While I will of course be getting the DLC for X4 on a brand new save, I won't be doing the same for the new expansion for Elite Dangerous. I have the Fed Corvette and I'm not that masochistic.

This music is top notch! Its absolutely enthralling. I have been just repeating the video over and over for the music. The new expansion makes me want to jump into the game, as well. Life went in such a way I never ended up playing X4 when I first got. Might need to change that...

Man, can't really put how seeing this feels. I was introduced to the X franchise and space sims as a whole through X3TC many years back, and Terrans were my favorite race in the universe since. I even named my explorer in Elite: Dangerous Winterblossom and got a white paint job for it.
It's the Music that gets me everytime.. Flying into a Xenon Swarm with an Asgard and bunch of Destroyers and 100 so fighters to the sound of that Music!! Feeling of Exhilaration!
I was a huge video game player before... Today only have a few quantity of time for that. And finally, X4 is the last game a really want to spend time. Thanks egosoft for this very deep game. I really hope Cradel of Humanity won't be the last expansion.
god the music alone gives me chilles the station moduls look nice! espacialy the docking ring for L/XL and the difference of the S/M docking looks almost alien to the rest of the docking hangers.

Every part of the X series will always have a special place in my heart. Every once in a while I get immersed to much, that I think all day what to do next ingame. And I keep humming those amazing tunes from Alexei Zakharov. I think X4 should feature even more songs from the older titles, at least as an optional setting in the options. I'm glad that CoH is part of the Collector's Edition, because I know what I'm going to do in a few weeks.

Wow - Just like me. I played the X-Beyond The Frontier demo from a game magazine disk, and bought the game immediately after it became available in my game shop. Both the magazine and game shop do not longer exist, but I bought every game after that first humble beginning. It was (and still is) a long ride from then to now (and a bit bumpy now and then). I like the way Egosoft is going with X4 Foundations, and will buy this expansion when it becomes available on GOG.
@@jclosed2516 Believe you me: there are quite a lot of people like us. When i would clock the time i spend on each entry X, X2 and all the X3 iterations... X4 is the result of over 25 years of hard work, blood, sweat and tears of a company who does actualy care about their vision and product. You could take X2 and compare to other games of any genre in scope, possibilities and content and it would still blow most other games away (yes...even Elite). They also got one of the best art-departments out there, not to forget their amazing music and sound-design. The soundtracks of X-games alone is historical. There's no wonder Egosoft got such an active community even before the internet was so readily available (long before).

I've been quite sick lately but I really enjoy this game and it's become a place where I can zen out. It's very difficult though, especially since this is my first X game but it's getting easier to play and understand over time. I am looking forward to this expansion and pray we get more! Brilliant work @Egosoft and all whom participated in making this fantasitc game go so far as it has. Now there's yet another expansion! Well I for one cant wait to sink my teeth into it.
We've come far... only to return home again. To our own pale blue dot. Seems like yesterday that we ventured out into space with the first jump drive only to strand in the X-universe in the X-perimental ship, forced to make a profit and friends in order to face the xenon menace. Several games later we have a new engine and come home again. Rebirth crowned the series with a new engine, Foundation could mark the beginning of new stories to come.
Breathtaking! I absolutely love the new Terran station designs, they remind me of the amazing X Rebirth station designs that looked epic and amazing! I can't wait to dive back in! Also, Alexei Zakharov's music is sublime, as always; never let him go Egosoft! Thank you for all the hard work Egosoft!
I bought this game 2 weeks ago (I think) and have been playing it literally every waking moment... I am enjoying it so much, I hadn't even noticed when I bought the pack on Steam that it included cradle of Humanity, but, from what I hear it and v 4.0 will bring some much needed changes... The game has little glitches, bugs, or difficult to use AI, but I will still recommend it to anyone and everyone, because there is so much to do in it and it is so much fun.
I'm curious about their design philosophy, as the current races already have: averages, turtles, speed glass cannons and high-shields low-hull. I'll play as a Terran but will definitely grab some Raptors and their blueprints before going after the Split.
Love the new Ship Designs, much improved compared to the Base Game. They look more refined and give a better sense of Scale. New Stations and interiors look nice too.
I played a lot of X3TC few years back. With X:Rebirth, the series kind of fell out my playlist, I never even tried X4. After watching some let’s plays of X4 recently, I can’t wait to fly back home and get it, split vendetta and this.

Thats what i thought at the end of the trailer and long since thought as i read the book where it was explained what would happen, if the Torus gets destroyed. In short, there are dozens, if not hundereds of Torus parts sorrounding Earth, mostly intact. Either they build many many stations out of these, or they just connect them together again. Only the connectors were destroyed. And if one can build a whole Torus alone, one can collect the parts and reconnect them again. It never was a real destruction. More of an.... unwanted..... splitting.

Never played x3 but knew of it and had x4 for a while since its beta. Looking forward to Cradle as an actual bday gift hopefully. The ships look sick and I want to learn humanities fate behind the closed gateways.

I've been quite sick lately but I really enjoy this game and it's become a place where I can zen out. It's very difficult though, especially since this is my first X game but it's getting easier to play and understand over time. I am looking forward to this expansion and pray we get more! Thank you guys for all the hard work and everything you do for us behind the scenes. Take care! Also, props on the trailer, it looked fantastic. Watched it twice!

We've come far... only to return home again. To our own pale blue dot.
Seems like yesterday that we ventured out into space with the first jump drive only to strand in the X-universe in the X-perimental ship, forced to make a profit and friends in order to face the xenon menace. Several games later we have a new engine and come home again. Rebirth crowned the series with a new engine, Foundation could mark the beginning of new stories to come.

Breathtaking! I absolutely love the new Terran station designs, they remind me of the amazing X Rebirth station designs that looked epic and amazing! I can't wait to dive back in! Also, Alexei Zakharov's music is sublime, as always; never let him go Egosoft! Thank you for all the hard work Egosoft!

I bought this game 2 weeks ago (I think) and have been playing it literally every waking moment... I am enjoying it so much, I hadn't even noticed when I bought the pack on Steam that it included cradle of Humanity, but, from what I hear it and v 4.0 will bring some much needed changes... The game has little glitches, bugs, or difficult to use AI, but I will still recommend it to anyone and everyone, because there is so much to do in it and it is so much fun.
Looks like I will re-start the game for Earth scenario.
Do you actually have to restart for them to show up?

THE TERRAN STATIONS LOOK SO GOOD AHHHH
The soccer fields are realy epic on the station. I like this.
Terrans have such pretty looking ships, be a shame if someone with a fleet of Raptors came in and blew them all up.
I'm curious about their design philosophy, as the current races already have: averages, turtles, speed glass cannons and high-shields low-hull.
I'll play as a Terran but will definitely grab some Raptors and their blueprints before going after the Split.
@@gabeux If I remember right, at least from Terran Conflict. It's powerful weapons and shields. But slow as hell and tin foil hulls.

Love the new Ship Designs, much improved compared to the Base Game. They look more refined and give a better sense of Scale. New Stations and interiors look nice too.
New designers so they had to learn from the start the hard way. I read some interview early last year but can't find anymore.
I played a lot of X3TC few years back. With X:Rebirth, the series kind of fell out my playlist, I never even tried X4. After watching some let’s plays of X4 recently, I can’t wait to fly back home and get it, split vendetta and this.
The new Terran battleship is a monster! All new designs looks superb. Time to pre order!

They're trying to rebuild the Earth Torus?
This trailer had me with football pitches in Space.. Shut up and take my Money!
Thats what i thought at the end of the trailer and long since thought as i read the book where it was explained what would happen, if the Torus gets destroyed. In short, there are dozens, if not hundereds of Torus parts sorrounding Earth, mostly intact. Either they build many many stations out of these, or they just connect them together again. Only the connectors were destroyed. And if one can build a whole Torus alone, one can collect the parts and reconnect them again. It never was a real destruction. More of an.... unwanted..... splitting.

Never played x3 but knew of it and had x4 for a while since its beta. Looking forward to Cradle as an actual bday gift hopefully. The ships look sick and I want to learn humanities fate behind the closed gateways.

At 2:02 they could stick a fish tank in that space with a Boron floating around instead, loads of ways to get them in, they are part of lore.
My fleet is going to look like a scene from Battlestar Galactica with all these different faction ships. Very cool trailer!
