It can be that they alter the way they drive the motor, with activating different windings at specific speeds. Electric trains accelerate like that. Like if you have the 360 degrees of an electric motor, and divide that into 8 coils, and energize those 8 coils after each other, you get more power but less speed, and if you have 4 coils in the same 360 degrees you get less power but more speed. So the physical mechanics stay the same, the electric drive method changes.
I don't believe you'll see anything happening with the battery percentage when doing a launch. It's not going slower when the battery is more empty as there is inverter electronics driving the motors. And it's not removing any visible battery percentage when doing a launch.
I was confused by the 60km/h too... it's the minimum legal speed for on the highway here in The Netherlands, and if the police saw you driving 60 you would get an article 5 "dangerous behavior" anyway. Why not set autopilot to 120 and then play with the phone...
Safety is a behavior, not an accidental thing you do only when you like it. Correct driving behavior is like executing a script where you don't deviate from.
From what I have gathered, with the LG L5/M50 batteries now used in the performance models the maximum battery power output drops very rapidly from 100%. With the previous Panasonic 82Kwh batteries they were able to put out a lot more power, more than the motors needed for maximum output - so were able to put out close to full power right down to 70% SOC. This newer LG battery is only just about able to meet maximum power demand at 100%, even at 90% SOC maximum power output has dropped.....I believe these LG batteries make the performance model severely limited - to the point that a Long range with Boost is just as fast at the 0-60 and 1/4 mile when the either model is down to 70%.....the performance model is only faster if above 70% SOC, and even then it needs to be nearly 100% to be noticeably faster. This was not the case with the models with the Panasonic batteries which had a lot of headroom in total power output.
I have measured 0-100 with 60% Batterie, Outside Temperature around 14 degrees 5.2 Or is it necessary to press Brakes and gas together when i do the launch?

Why is it almost always with almost every car so, that when you do the flying 100-200, it's faster than when doing it from 0-200? :D In this case there was some downhill (very minor), but sometimes there's not even that.
when you start at 0kmh the suspension has to settle down. also the engine has to build up power. notice that he does not start exactly at 100 he starts at 80-90kmh giving the car enough time to sit down and accelerate as fast as possible. This is much more noticeable with petrol cars though.

Hi... I test Tesla Y Performance in passenger this weekend. For some measures like 100-200, you must begin test at 100 kph stabilised because responsiveness is awesome. For me, full power is only during several seconds then power is reduced to not heat the motors. During several seconds like overboost on turbo cars... So a stabilised 200 to 250 will also be more impressive that in your test 😉
Car reviews have got people to think that way. Often in "reviews" you'll see them mash the throttle for a couple of seconds and show "how fast" it is, but they never show acceleration for longer duration. At least from what I've seen. 🤔
I think RUclips videos (obviously) lack the actual impression of the acceleration. I also think that at some point, a car is fast enough to do anything ever needed in traffic. Then i rather choose for a big comfortable interior space instead of being 0.2 seconds faster on a 0-100 drag which one never does. Like if you release all the 460 horses at every single intersection then i think you'll meet the cops pretty soon for reckless driving.
Not impressive after all. How long could it hold the 250kmh ?? How HP does it deliver ? My c400 4m does 0-100 in 4s and 100-200 in 9.9 sec....with about 420HP.
C400 isnt a SUV. My Model 3 Performance does 0-100 in 3.4s and 100-200 in 9.5s. Thats a better comparison. Also I dont emit toxic gasses while doing this and thats the whole point about EVs

I think it's difficult to 'see' acceleration via video anyway. I think i would prefer the Performance model anyway, i don't need such crazy big range, i rather have an impressive throttle pedal 😁. Although so many horses are also dangerous... One mistake and it's crash in 0.001 seconds.

I think RUclips videos (obviously) lack the actual impression of the acceleration. I also think that at some point, a car is fast enough to do anything ever needed in traffic. Then i rather choose for a big comfortable interior space instead of being 0.2 seconds faster on a 0-100 drag which one never does. Like if you release all the 460 horses at every single intersection then i think you'll meet the cops pretty soon for reckless driving.

Not impressive after all. How long could it hold the 250kmh ?? How HP does it deliver ? My c400 4m does 0-100 in 4s and 100-200 in 9.9 sec....with about 420HP.
C400 isnt a SUV. My Model 3 Performance does 0-100 in 3.4s and 100-200 in 9.5s. Thats a better comparison. Also I dont emit toxic gasses while doing this and thats the whole point about EVs

Not log ago, i've done more then 300km/day, i've worked as service technician for POS-systems and have to rely on my car every. For cities and small distances, EV's are best alternative to public transportation, but not for lang range commercial traffic.

Slow? This is a 4400 pound family SUV, it’s not a super car. 0-60 in 3-4 seconds with a top speed of 250 km/h is extremely fast for a car that size.

I think it's difficult to 'see' acceleration via video anyway. I think i would prefer the Performance model anyway, i don't need such crazy big range, i rather have an impressive throttle pedal 😁. Although so many horses are also dangerous... One mistake and it's crash in 0.001 seconds.
