    We've ventured upstate to the Grand Canyon again and this time camped at Mather Campground in the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park. This episode will show you all you need to know about what camping at Mather Campground is like!
    Mather Campground is located inside the Grand Canyon National Park and within walking distance of the Rim Trail. The terrain features plenty of shade from Ponderosa pine trees. The campground also has a shuttle stop on the Village Route (Blue) Line that can take guests to popular locations such as the Grand Canyon Visitor Center, Yavapai Lodge, and Market.
    Due to the proximity of Mather Campground to the Grand Canyon Market Plaza, it is easy to purchase groceries, gifts, or any necessary camping supplies one may need for their stay.
    As there are hundreds of species of wildlife living inside the Grand Canyon National Park, you most likely will have plenty of opportunities for encounters during your time at the park.

    My family and I love Mather campgrounds and stay there often. Great way to unwind from the day to day hustle and bustle of the city. Lots of fun, and it is very dark at night. Biking can also be a lot of fun too. Oh so many memories. Now a word about your video - Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Absolutely loved how you allowed the quiet for the viewer to enjoy the deer roaming through. (Another thing one will always see if you stay at Mather) You do a great job explaining and covering questions the viewer might be thinking or what you think the viewer might need/want to know. That said, looking forward to your North-rim video, been a while since I‘ve made it over to that side of the canyon. Really, really enjoy your channel and am always glad to find the notice that another video has been posted. Thanks a lot from a fan in Phoenix.

      Absolutely! You can bring as much of your own food and drink that you want. I always travel with a packed cooler and buy as little as I can inside the park (since that is more expensive). There are no restrictions on how much of your own food and drink you bring into the park. Hope you enjoy it!

    Do you know if we would have to take change for the showers? Do they take credit cards?

    • @CactusAtlas
      @CactusAtlas  4 года назад +1

      They are coin operated (or were when I visited). They take quarters.

      Also just did some follow up. We are building a web app and pull in public data from recreation.gov, and I checked the latest data and the amenities data for Mathers still shows ‘Coin Showers’, so assuming it still requires quarters. I want to say is was a $1.50 or something like that for each 5 minutes or thereabouts.

      Leashed dogs are allowed on the rim trail but not below the canyon rim or on shuttles.
