My coolest moments is that A SHARMA AND T HEAD saved their legs in running in between wickets..by hitting 4 and 6 runs all over the park…finished the game in 9.4 overs.
Funnily enough, today I saw the innings of KL Rahul's breathtaking T20 100 vs ENG in 2018, and now switching to today's match, it was just.....disappointing. I don't think I can even hate him anymore. It's just disappointment.
Looks like a completely different player. I used to love his effortless sixes. Drastic change in approach after he started to lead as a captain for Punjab. Really sad to see.
He used to play fearlessly back in 2018 until he started captaining Punjab...Has all the range, timing and skills yet he doesn't have the guts to come out of his comfort zone and take on the bowlers..On the other hand guys like Narine, Head and Abhishek make the most out of it despite their limitations...Lucknow actually has a pretty decent team and their biggest weak line is their own captain...I don't see them winning a title till KLR is their captain...Same with Indian team...Kl Rahul should never captain India in any format

its not his fault dude, SRH's bowlers did well and with Buvi back in some sort of form, they couldn't have outplayed him anyway. Other than that, LSG don't have enough batting power at top and nor any bowlers to play in this kind of pitch, as compared to SRH. LSG's team has been made their with respect to their home ground, which is generally a slowish pitch, LSG would have performed better than SRH if this match would have been conducted in a slowish pitch. Check out the reverse match of this, LSG won that match.
This is not killing it, This is like stabbing at same point 167 times.
Why KL plays like he has loans to pay. I feel miserable while watching him bat. Yawn worthy defeat inducing performance.

@@amoghghade1 Obviously they can but these players are capable enough to deal with that kind of bowling at this level...And pitches are mostly flat nowadays, we rarely see too much seam or swing in T20Is..So for most conditions, it's a strong enough team..Look at England. They also have an explosive batting line-up and that's how they have won two ICC tournaments after 2015...

I mean the guy scored more than 400 runs with a strike rate over 200. Just incredible stats. From 2009 onwards all these guys are playing for india Kohli, Rohit, Jadeja, etc but we always fail to win the trophy now again all these guys are in the team. My point is they have given several chances to Kohli, Rohit, Jadeja etc but we didn't win anything yet. So why not give a chance to all the performing youngsters in ipl & see. They may not win the world Cup they may falter like all others. But atleast give them a chance. Without giving them a chance how can we say they are good enough or not.
IDK if the pitch was difficult in first innings because LSG 29/2 in powerplay while SRH 100/0 in powerplay confused.

It's a struggle to watch KL Rahul open the batting. No intent to attack, no risks to put pressure on the opposition and when the pressure is on the batting side now that he's played 20+ balls, get dismissed by a nothing shot
With this approach, He's best suited to bat at 3-4 when wickets are down.
It might look like wickets are falling at the other end in the powerplay and so he's batting conservative but it may also be because he has taken the anchor role and his partners are expected to do a Parthiv Patel.
I just remember KL Rahul of 2016 to 2018, and still wonder, where he disappeared to, and who is this guy, wearing his mask. It's so disappointing, to see how much he has declined.

Few seasons ago, this guy was the 1st name that appeared on the T20I sheet with discussions as to who should partner him Dhawan or Rohit. . . .
His fear of failing and unwillingness to accept criticism is what has caused him this downfall.
He's cut down on risk taking shots and that's why he's been getting starts in all games but starting slow. He's been putting too much pressure on his partners and you don't expect that from your 17 crores guy

Even australians would agree the pitch got unexpectedly easier to bat on in the second innings, otherwise the score was just abt par if the pitch did not show such a stark difference in the two innings.

We can never take away the contributions of rohit and virat in reaching those sf and finals for india. And even kl has had a couple of good knocks in the tournaments he has played so far. Lets face it that india have failed to perform together as a unit in batting and bowling in knockouts in recent times...
I get the anchor role but batting with strike rate of 88 on a pitch like this after facing 33 balls that's 5 overs. I don't get this batting approach by KL rahul.
If we are honest, there's no place of an anchor role for an opener in t20. If pitch is difficult it is even more important to take advantage of powerplay and new hard ball to score more runs, if its flat, you have to attack anyway. That role only comes into play if you're 4/20 which happens 1 in 20 games
That's the issue. Anchor role itself is a misfit in T20. If someone is not comfortable hitting from the word go, he will hide behind the garb of 'anchor'

Looks like KL Rahul woke up from coma after 50 years. Forget playing....Isn't he following this IPL at all? which opener uses up 25% of the balls and scores at 80 strike rate. If you can't score a boundary every 6 deliveries, you need to get out the pitch.

People compare KL Rahul with Rolls-Royce. When you look at his performance in ODI in the last 9 years. He scored 7 hundreds against:
1) On June 11, 2016, in Harare, against Zimbabwe
2) On July 6, 2019, in Leeds, against Sri Lanka.
3) On February 11, 2020, in Mount Maunganui, against New Zealand
4) On March 26, 2021, in Pune, against England
5) On September 11, 2023, in Colombo, against Pakistan
6) On November 12, 2023, in Bengaluru, against Netherlands
If this guy is Rolls Royce, what about other players like Pant, Sanju, Sky, Jadeja, Joe root, butler, Ben strokes, faf, Kohli, Rohit, williamson, Warner, etc
He played for these many years, just because of nepotism. Otherwise, huge talent is waiting to replace him at any point of time.
INDIA has seen so many great players, I don’t know where this guy stands in front of Ganguly, Sehwag, Gambhir, YV, Dravid, Suresh Raina, etc. (this is old generation). Imagine how the new generation players should have been…should have high skill sets.

Playing for the safe score first, not trusting anyone in the middle order and if there's 1% slowness in the pitch or even just 1 wicket falls starting a test innings. Kohli has done this for years in RCB, even this season he scored 59 ball 83 and kkr killed that chase in powerplay, him and Faf played at under 10 an over in game against RR for 14 overs without losing a wicket, first game of IPL he got 22 of 21 where DK and Anuj finished well but that was chased with no fuss as well.

Rohit Sharma was trying to play like Abhishek Sharma and is failing because it is easy for opposing teams to read his weaknesses and get him out. Abhishek Sharma can only try to hit sixes and he could get out anytime. He has a life against Lucknow that nobody is mentioning.
