Wonderful job. Super clean. Very appealing to anyone that thinks in terms of being practical. Helping my grand son build one that will be very nearly the same. Thanks for sharing. Very nice, From Texas
Thats great, building the truck with your grandson will be something he will never forget, i know the time i spent with my Dad building our truck was a life experience that was awesome and a great bonding between father and son, good luck and have fun
Love the truck and your attitude!!!! "I drive my truck, I don't just look at it". I Did the same thing with my 72. She's a driver as well. Props Brotha!!! Great work.
You have put a lot of work into that truck, and it looks fantastic. It is definitely an inspiration to all of us that don't have deep packets to see what can be accomplished working under a canopy on the back yard.God bless you and keep up the good work.
Real cool truck, nice job restoring it, certainly not overdone which is usually a temptation when making decisions doing a rebuilt. Thanks for posting.
Love this truck. Simple and Clean. Great daily driver. Lot of people go over board when they redo this trucks. Great work. Love to have a truck like this one day.
thanks man, hopefully a little more wealth comes my way so I can finish her up lol, but im in no rush, I like driving her around just the way she is right now
Hey George. Just checking back with you. My 55 isn't ready yet. I'm praying it will be ready for Christmas so it will have meaning, or by Jan. 2. Great birthday present lol.
Believe me I know the feeling of wanting to finish, and always having something or another keep pushing it down the road, ya that would be cool of you finished up for X-MASS, but if not just keep trucking along it all we can do right, ill keep any eye out for it
thx, Its a lot harder and takes a lot longer, but I think its more rewarding when you do most of the work yourself, because you know every detail of your truck, but I wouldn't have been able to do any of it with out the tons of help from my Dad
cool sounds good, ill definitely check it out, the color is called Toyota Super White, when the painter asked me what color I wanted to paint the truck, I told him I want the brightest white he can get, lol
the front was lowered by removing the original straight axle, then I installed a Heidts (HEIDTS SUPERIDE II) front suspension system, with has coil overs to adjust the height where you want it, now the rear is more tricky, I installed Mono leaf springs in the rear but it was too low and I had to get blocks to raise it up 2 inches, if I were you I would definitely install a adjustable 4-link rear suspension, you will be way more happy with the ride, it cost more but its worth it believe me lol
nice 55 had one in my 20's, you did a great job so now i have a 58 big window im doing a frame up and thinking on a buttermilk and tan paint, but i like how your sets what kind of suspension did you do ? thanks for the vid. KJ
I C Notched the rear End, put 4 inch drop mono leaf springs in the rear I still had to use some blocks to raise it a little more to get the rack I wanted (i think a 2 inch drop mono would have done the trick), and I put in a Heidts Front Clip
Hey George, checking back in with you my truck got put on hold. It being worked now finally. Just seeing how's your is coming along. Did you do any more work on your truck. looking for updates .
thanks, ya I just wanted it to look clean, not anything loud, driving it is really nice with power brakes, disc bakes all around, and power steering, not to sure how the original straight axle and drums felt, but ill take my setup, lol
Your truck is sweet! I kept the straight axle. Went big block with th400 and 373 gears with 20’s also. Pickup is in the paint shop for an overdue spray job. 69 chevelle bucket seats and lockgate shifter. It’s not a trailer queen. Still have to work on bed, that’s a fall to winter project. Going higher gears sometime in the future. Oh yeah, this pickup is extremely loud but, at my age it’s alright.
Ok, that's more than I can handle. My thought was dropped axel and 2" inch lowering springs on mine 55. I don't know if it works. By the way what's is the tire size on your 20"?
Did you used the 2" drop or the stock spindles on your IFS ? I am in the middle of a similar built using the same suspension and i really like the stance of your truck,by the way i like to complement you and all those that got the chance to work on your truck built very nicely done good color choice and a it looks like a great driver ..
sorry for the last response , i used the 2" drop spindles at first but it was way too low for me so i changed them to the stock ones that come with the IFS, have fun
Hello George I have a 55 chevy pickup I was hoping you could help me somehow to get my truck running, there's more to my story please try to get in contact with me thank you and God bless. your truck came out nice
Do you have a video of installation of the one-piece door window? Different people do it different, the ones I have seen doesn't make alot of sense. Someone that drives theirs daily is the person I am more likely to listen to. Any assistance you can provide is appreciated.
Man i can honestly say those one piece windows were a total pain to install, i broke the drivers glass twice, the manufacturer dosnt sell just one piece of window glass, so i had to have them custom cut by a glass guy ($45 each time), sry to say i have no video on the installation, the directions they give you are a joke, there was a lot of my own input on the install
@@georgesspot man! help me get in touch with that manufacturer. mine wrecked out there and I'm away from the states. wanna bring back that car to life again. thank you!
+Matt R hey Matt, no i didnt use i custom parking brake i havnt decided which way to go yet, they have a kit that uses the original handle which i thought was cool, thats prob what im going to do unless you got some good ideas, thx
another really good source for parts for your truck is called the Truck Shop in Orange, CA there number is (714) 771-7871 and this is their site truckandcarshop(DOT)com

This is not a car, this is a dream. Man God bless you health and wealth to enjoy that beautiful one of kind dream car. Loved it.
thanks man, hopefully a little more wealth comes my way so I can finish her up lol, but im in no rush, I like driving her around just the way she is right now
Nice! A set of vintage 1955 California license plates would look sweet on your truck.
Your grandfather would be proud!!!
always go with your gut feeling of what you want, you will enjoy it more in the end. keep open ears but go with your gut feeling.
Nice ride just right for daily driver and able to enjoy it
Thanks man 👍
watched this vid 4 xs. Youve shown how well that youve thought out each move.
Thumbs up.
thx there was alot of rework here and there lol, but over all im a happy camper

Nice job George. Hey, its been two years, how about an update.

No, no updates, nothing really new, buts thats due to being blessed with a new baby girl, so the trucks had to take a back seat for a while
That's easy 798 the year the truck is pre 74-75.
In about two weeks my 55 will be ready. I will try to get it posted also. Hope you look for it. Oh BTW what is the color called?
What are your thoughts on adding soundproofing materials to the cab so you can increase the volume on your mufflers?
The sound would still flow in threw the windows, but every little bit to deaden the sound would help, good idea, thx
Dont ya hate that. Well, it's time to trade backward. Lol
thanks, ya I just wanted it to look clean, not anything loud, driving it is really nice with power brakes, disc bakes all around, and power steering, not to sure how the original straight axle and drums felt, but ill take my setup, lol
