Everyone claiming this is Redford is wrong. North of Puritan, Detroit extends west past Telegraph to Five Points. I’ve driven past this place a thousand times and have never been in. I’ll definitely have to check it out.
Not for me. My ex-girlfriend used to work there, and gave me free food. And I didn't like it that much. The one in Fairlane Mall tastes better than that one.
@@DetroitFoodReviewMy ex-girlfriend used to work there and she gave me free food. It's ok ,once it gets cold it's no good. I was at work one day, and I reheated it up some general chicken and fried rice. Tasted terrible.
Going to have to check this place out. After my favorite Chinese restaurant Kowloon's in Dearborn closed the only one I've been going to is New Hong Kong. I need to start going to some of these other places. Great episode once again
It's not all that to me. When you reheat the food it's not that good. I'm still looking for a good Chinese restaurant. I can't find one in Detroit, anymore.
I lived in Detroit most of my life. Sun China is one of my favorites. I live in the south now and the Chinese food is terrible compared to Sun China. Can’t wait to get back to the D. My favorites are the shrimp egg foo young combo and the shrimp with lobster sauce. Straight 🔥🔥. I was just talking about Sun china to a coworker and here it is a video about them. Wow.
You’ve got to try Chin’s in Livonia, they’ve been in business over 60 years. They’re one of the last tiki themed Chinese Restaurants still in existence.
I just ran across this on my feed!the very best Chinese food! Is Pekin pavilion on 6905 East Jefferson by Belle isle,it's a hidden gem a lot of freshly cooked food affordable worth the try .Detroit's finest#1
A lot of Asian restaurants went to a carryout-only situation during Covid. Those restaurants were the places I trusted the most, because they were taking the pandemic seriously and putting the safety of their customers and employees first. I increased how much food I got from those places per month as a result to help support their businesses.
That 's my daughter's favorite spoti've never eaten there but I'm gonna try it 1 day. But. I like Lum's chop suey. on Van born in Taylor they're only carryout but their food is always good.
I've driven by this place on Telegraph for decades, but never thought to order any food from there. But I guess any place that's been around that long has to be pretty good.
Sun china is pretty good but I would like to ask can you try the almond boneless chicken combination dinner and egg drop soup at Golden Bowl on 9 mile and Coolidge on the southeast corner in Oak Park MI. I like the yellow gravy better than the brown. The flavor at this place is exceptional to me. The fried rice, you have to specify whether you want shrimp, chicken or whatever. If no specifications they'll just give you plain fried rice. The service is pretty fast, too. Dwight Owens
I use to get those delicious dinner rolls and the roast pork fried rice and general Tsos chicken 🎉🎉🎉 oh and the hot and sour soup and chicken egg rolls 🎉🎉🎉
Ps. I'm born and raised in the city of Detroit I can't find a good Chinese restaurant anymore. this one is ok but it's not that one. Fairlane got a whole Chinese restaurant in the back of the mall. Call Pekin, I might not be spelling it right, but their Chinese food tastes excellent and upscale. They also have one inside the mall in the food court it tastes pretty good too. Even when you reheat it.@@DetroitFoodReview

For sure brother. They weren't playing around in there. They had the bulletproof glass up and everything. Food was really good so I can see why it's so busy!

Please do some chinese restaurants on the east side mostly around the clawson, troy, rochester area. There is not very good food around, especially for chinese food. Strange but true, none good at all that I'm aware of and I've looked and tried all I can find!!!
That’s still Detroit, until 5 Points. Back in the 60’s thru 80’s, Detroit had a residency rule, and that neighborhood was filled with firefighters and police officers. It’s changed a lot since then lol

The food is not all that to me it dries out too quickly. I was at work one day, and I reheated some general chicken and fried rice. Tasted terrible.
Not even close. Cardboard hard fried rice, when it gets cold.
Some of the best (and most trustworthy) Chinese food in the city for sure
