The graphics that are used in productions can help to reinforce a brand identity or establish a specific feel/vibe for anyone watching. These graphic renders are typically driven by multiple data sets and are often being viewed on a range of video devices with differing resolutions and aspect ratios. Effectively integrating all these elements of a modern graphics pipeline can be extremely challenging - and often very expensive. To address these challenges, a range of web-based technologies are being repackaged specifically for the “broadcast graphics” space.
On today’s show, we’ll take a closer look at what these web technologies offer and show them in action with a brief overview of SPX Graphics - a very impressive open-source web graphics package that we came across recently.
