  • It's the third month in our Tiny House, and it's time for a proper review.
In this video, we talk about everything we like, dislike, and all the things we wish we had known before buying and planning the Tiny House. We bought our Tiny House from Casagea, a relatively new Portuguese company from Braga. We will let you know if we would buy from them again.

You have a beautiful home! The setting is gorgeous. Condensation is a problem in tiny houses but it is easily fixed by purchasing a stand alone dehumidifier. The water that you’ll extract from the air will surprise you. Many tiny homes also install an air exchanger that will ensure air from outside is being circulated inside the tiny home. I see that you have what looks like a wooden stove. Burning wood produces dry heat which comes in handy as its own dehumidifier. Perfect for winter. You’ve got lots of choices but I feel confident that these suggestions will help a lot. Even though you have to move your tiny home because it’s too close to the river, the little foundation is a perfect place to chill or glamp. Having access to fresh running water is a tremendous asset, more valuable than the land itself. You can do all sorts of cool things. The tiny house itself is really well designed and I love the furnishings and decor. The sofa is awesome! Idk how many new builds you’ve lived in but I’m much older than you and I can safely say that no matter how big a new house is or costs, there are always issues. We live in a huge custom built home in a major metro area. The first time showering in my deluxe open shower, nothing would drain and the water backed up in the tub and sinks. It turned out that grout had gotten in the giant drain system they installed. Suffice it to say, we were less than thrilled. The home with the new smell already had a major problem. Everything got fixed and we could enjoy our home again. It’s stressful but after you guys are settled in that lovely setting, it’ll be magic.

Thanks for all the tips! We also have an AC here, so the condensation is not that a problem here - our previous apartment at the coast of Portugal was really bad insulated and no AC or heating system, we suffered A LOT with that!
Sad to hear about this grout issue! It sounds horrible, I hope it's all set by now. But please, share some picture of your open shower! We want inspiration!
      Cheers!

Ahhh thank you so much! We're super happy here and excited about the upcoming mini-projects and property work that needs to be done here. Where do you live here? We're veeery close to Monção (North).

We thought about it. It's one thing we would have done differently. But nothing we want to change now. Especially because we won't be staying in the tiny house forever. With a bit of luck we might be able to move next year to the main house 🤞🏼.
After that, the Tiny House would only be for visitors, and it offers enough storage space for that purpose :)
