@@earlokin1822 Yeah, I did a series in the Antique Phonograph Journal on his comments on some singers. I went through his notebooks for about two years and found great ideas by him and some damn crazy ones too. It's all part of being human I guess.
@@jfs78 I have a couple of CDs wherein was put a bundle of test recordings, some by wonderful opera singers, which he rejected. He had poor musical taste and was apparently half deaf, but the Diamond Discs recorded beautifully. There are a couple on RUclips by Celestina Boninsegna and Adelina Agostinelli which are wonderful.
@@earlokin1822 Yes I'm familiar with them...Such great singers, so little understanding. The strange thing is that people think Edison was very detrimental to jazz, he was rather lenient on that, but when it came to opera and classical music, he felt he was a true expert ...Which we all know was the furthest thing from the truth. He had his agents in Europe sending tests, and he rejected practically every one.
